After breakfast on your charming hotel meet your guide at a designated meeting point and get ready to explore the historical center of Avignon. Climbing up to the top of the fortified medieval city walls to reach the "Rocher des Doms" garden, discover Avignon stretching in all its beauty along the Rhône river. Discover the rich historical past of Avignon where the papacy established in the early 14C. Enjoy skip-the-line access and follow your guide inside the Pope's Palace (entrance ticket included), largest gothic-style Palace in Europe. In this maze of galleries, chambers and chapels, imagine its luxurious furnishing and sumptuous decoration from the medieval period. Benefit from genuine explanations and anecdotes thanks to your local guide. Walking on the cobbled streets to the Place de l'Horloge, find out about the secret of the painted windows. Next step is Les Baux de Provence, village located upon a rock 245 meters high, with its historical pedestrian center : the museum of santons, the Hôtel des Porcelets, beautiful house of the 16th century, the St Vincent Church, pretty romanesque building... Listen to your local guide and its passionate explanations about the Provence region. Then explore the famous and exceptional site of the Pont du Gard dated from the first century and classified by UNESCO.
