Todayโ€™s hike takes you along a charming muddy trail, flanked by picturesque villages on either side. After an hour of descent, youโ€™ll reach Kimrong Khola, where stunning views of snow-capped peaks like Annapurna South, Gangapurna, Fishtail, and Hinchuli begin to unfold. The trail then ascends for 4-5 hours until you reach Chhomrong.

Throughout the hike, youโ€™ll pass scenic hilly settlements surrounded by lush banana fields, vibrant rhododendrons, and ferns. Chhomrong, perched on a hilltop, features stone-paved stairs and serves as the gateway to the Annapurna Sanctuary, where permits are issued. From here, the majestic Annapurna South comes into clear view. The area is equipped with numerous tea houses and shops offering batteries, memory cards, and other essentials. Enjoy a peaceful sunset over the Annapurna range before settling in for the night.

The sanctuary is rich with rhododendrons, oak, and alpine trees, making the trail vibrant and adorned with reddish-pink flowers.

Day 5: Bamboo To Machhapuchhre Base Camp

Prepare yourself for a demanding day of trekking, as this will be the most strenuous part of the journey. However, the changing vegetation from sub-tropical to alpine and the stunning sights along the way will keep you energized. Youโ€™ll gain nearly 4000 feet in elevation, so take it slow and stay hydrated.

About an hour into the trek, youโ€™ll reach the first village, Dovan, which features just five lodges. From here, youโ€™ll catch a glimpse of the Machapuchare Mountain. The trail involves a mix of gradual ascents and descents, often muddy, leading you to Himalaya. A wooden bridge and a shrine will be highlights of this segment. In Himalaya, youโ€™ll find cozy tea houses to rest and recharge.

Continue with a mix of downhill and uphill hiking until you reach the settlement of Jhinu Danda. Here, you can unwind with a refreshing dip in the hot springs, located just 20 minutes away. Enjoy your final night of the trek and savor the experience.
