      Day 1: Jambo Kenya!

Full of anticipation, you make your way to the airport with packed suitcases and fly to Nairobi. Make yourself comfortable on board and sink deep into your travel literature until you finally land in Nairobi. There you will be eagerly awaited by your tour guide. After a warm welcome, you will be taken to your hotel, where you can end your first evening in Kenya at the bar, or you can go to bed early to be well rested for the next days.

      Accommodation
      Double Tree Hotel
Within walking distance of Nairobiโ€™s colorful, bustling streets is your quietly located accommodation for the night. In the air-conditioned rooms of the Double Tree Hotel, furnished with tasteful wooden furniture, you can reflect on the dayโ€™s experiences without a care in the world. The lovingly decorated outdoor area with pool and the cozy lounge with in-house restaurant provide even more feel-good moments. The friendly hotel team will be happy to serve you dinner on the terrace.

      Notes
The driving distance is about 20 kilometers. The driving time is about 30 minutes. As in many big cities, there is sometimes very heavy traffic in Nairobi. It may happen that you are on the road longer.
  • Day 2 Day 2: On A Par With Buffalo, Elephants And Lions
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 2: On A Par With Buffalo, Elephants And Lions

Right after breakfast the adventure begins. Always north, towards the Aberdare National Park. Let the landscape and the colorful hustle and bustle along the roads have an effect on you. At lunch time you will reach the first stage destination, the Aberdare Country Club in the national park of the same name. Once there, your bags will be safely stored. After lunch you will drive to your accommodation with a small bag. Here, wet, dense forests, high moors and a breathtaking flora and fauna stretch out. You can spend the evening and night observing animals from the various vantage points. In addition to numerous smaller animals, buffalo, elephants and lions are also found here. And shhh! If you are very quiet, they dare to get even closer to you.

      Meals
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in the price.

      Accommodation
      The Ark Lodge
The Ark Lodge, which translates as "The Ark", is located in the middle of Aberdare National Park. It is not only accommodation, but also safari from the room. Youโ€™ll observe animals up close from various vantage points here, which is exactly why your simply furnished rooms are called cabins.

      Notes
The driving distance is about 170 kilometers. The driving time is about 4 hours.
The journey to Ark Lodge is done in cars belonging to the accommodation, which are specially designed for off-road driving. As these cars do not have enough space for your complete luggage, you will be driven to the nearby Aberdare Country Club, where your large luggage will be safely stored. You will take only a small bag or backpack for tonight.

We recommend packing long pants and a fleece jacket/sweater as it can get cold at night.
  • Day 3 Day 3: Across The Equator To Samburu Game Reserve
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 3: Across The Equator To Samburu Game Reserve

If luck permits, you will spy thirsty quadrupeds at the waterhole early in the morning, which attracts animals of all kinds like a magnet. Enjoy the pictures before the journey continues. After breakfast you will pass the Mount Kenya National Park, from which the second highest mountain of the country rises. A little further north is the equator, which divides the world into northern and southern hemispheres. Of course you make a short stop and maybe you even manage to stand on both sides of the earth at the same time, before you continue north to the Samburu Game Reserve. In the afternoon you will explore the park, which is considered one of the most beautiful in the country. The local Samburu people always say: "The animals in the north are the most beautiful". Is this true? You can see for yourself.

      Meals
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.

      Accommodation
      Ashnil Samburu Camp
Ashnil Samburu Camp is located on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River. The comfortable tents are equipped with parquet floors, wooden furniture and en-suite bathrooms and offer fantastic views from the private terrace. The camp also has a restaurant, a lounge with bar and a small pool with an adjacent sunbathing area.

      Notes

  • Day 4 Day 4: Safari In The Samburu Game Reserve
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 4: Safari In The Samburu Game Reserve

Yesterday you could already get to know the reserve, today you will take a closer look at it. Among others, the Grevyโ€™s zebra, which not only has very fine stripes, but also comes closest to the horse among its fellow species, is at home here. The giraffe gazelle with its long neck, which stands on its hind legs to reach high hanging leaves, is also at home here. With a good eye, you may even spot lions lying in wait in the tall grass. In the afternoon you will visit a village of the Samburu people and get an insight into the culture and everyday life of the former nomads.

      Meals
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.

      Accommodation
      Ashnil Samburu Camp [follow-up overnight]

  • Day 5 Day 5: Following Lord Aberdareโ€™S Footsteps In The National Park
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 5: Following Lord Aberdareโ€™S Footsteps In The National Park

On the way back to Aberdare National Park you can already compare your first spectacular photos with those of your fellow travelers. You are behind? No problem, because today you will have the opportunity to catch up. After lunch you will admire the park from the point of view of its namesake, Lord Aberdare. On foot you will make your way through the opulent landscape. You will be accompanied by the chirping of numerous bird species. A change of perspective that is worthwhile. Here, itโ€™s not the animals you spot that count, because the soundscape is breathtaking, as is the fact that youโ€™re right in the middle of it all. With all these impressions in your mind you will go back to your accommodation, where you can finish the day with a drink and the sunset.

      Meals
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in the price.

      Accommodation
      Aberdare Country Club
Aberdare Country Club is located in the middle of the 520-hectare nature reserve of the same name. The comfortable rooms are cozily furnished and lovingly decorated in bright, warm colors. In the spacious, lush green garden by the pool or in front of the flickering fireplace, you can end the day in comfort.

      Notes
The driving distance is about 180 kilometers. The driving time is about 4 hours.
We recommend to bring a jacket, as it can get chilly at night in Aberdare National Park.
  • Day 6 Day 6: Malaika And Lake Nakuru National Park
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 6: Malaika And Lake Nakuru National Park

Our way west takes you past the western edge of the Aberdare region until you reach the 74 meter high Thomson Falls. Of course you stop here for a photo stop in front of the thundering water masses. Then itโ€™s on to Nakuru to the Malaika Orphanage. Here you will learn a lot about the country and its people, especially about the social work of this project. During a small guided tour of the area and a local lunch you will have time to get in contact with the locals. Then the next game drive is already waiting, this time in Lake Nakuru National Park. Home to over 50 species of mammals as well as over 450 species of birds. This made it one of the first bird sanctuaries in Africa in 1967. So eyes open, there is much to see and hear here: Leopards, lions, the rare Rothschild giraffes and hippos, a whole flamingo colony, cormorants and pelicans fishing at Lake Nakuru. With a little luck you will also have the chance to see white and black rhinos today.

      Meals
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.

      Accommodation
      Mbweha Safari Camp
Mbweha Safari Camp is located on the southern edge of Lake Nakuru National Park with fantastic views of the Eburu and Mau Hills. You will stay in one of the ten comfortable cottages with thatched roofs, built of lava stone. The rooms are stylishly furnished in brown tones and with local decorations. In the lovingly landscaped garden with colorful trees, you can listen to the diverse sounds of nature and enjoy the breathtaking views.

      Notes
The driving distance is about 200 kilometers. The driving time is about 4 to 5 hours.
In the Malaika orphanage, the children live in conditions that are typical for the country and very simple by our standards. Kenyan food is served, which is eaten with the fingers in the traditional way. If you wish, you will also be given cutlery. Enjoy the food at Malaika! With your visit you make a small contribution to support the project by helping the hosts to earn an additional small income.
The Malaika orphanage is closed during the Christmas vacations. During this time, the children are placed with foster families and spend the Christmas vacations together. If your Kenya trip falls during this period, you will continue directly from Thomson Falls to Mbweha Safari Camp, arriving at lunchtime. After lunch you will go on a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park.
  • Day 7 Day 7: The Masai Mara Is Calling!
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 7: The Masai Mara Is Calling!

An early breakfast and then you can already hear the Masai Mara calling. However, you will have to be patient until we arrive at the gate. Use the ride to let Kenya and the daily hustle and bustle on the streets have an effect on you. You can catch up on the events of the last days, chat with your guide and around noon you will be back at your home for the next two nights. After a refreshment, the search for the four-legged friends, the Big Five and the other usual suspects begins. Camera ready, eyes open and off you go! Stretching over 1,700 square kilometers, the Mara offers all its beauty and diversity and is one of the most visited nature reserves in the world. You are right in the middle of it! Here you will see the abundance of life still as it existed a century ago. Mara means "spotted," which probably refers to the hilly savannah plains covered with clumps of bush. See for yourself and return to your accommodation with these new impressions. Enjoy the evening in a dreamlike scenery!

      Meals
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in the price.

      Accommodation
      Tipilikwani Mara Camp
Directly at the northern entrance of the wildlife-rich Masai Mara, a spacious safari tent of Tipilikwani Mara Camp awaits you, furnished with great attention to detail and high-quality wooden furniture. Each tent has a large bathroom with shower and free-standing bathtub and a terrace with a beautiful view over the multifaceted landscape around the Talek River.

      Notes
The driving distance is about 360 kilometers. The driving time is about 5 to 6 hours, excluding the game drive.
  • Day 8 Day 8: Extension At Masai Mara National Reserve
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 8: Extension At Masai Mara National Reserve

Yesterday there was already the first foretaste, today it continues. Through the open vegetation of the Masai Mara, which by the way got its name from the Massai tribe living here, you have a wide view. This is the best condition to discover wild animals. Especially in the cooler morning and evening hours you can observe the animals very well while grazing, looking for prey or visiting the waterholes. While looking for lions, elephants, buffalos, leopards and all the others you might also be able to marvel at a cheetah chasing its prey through the savannah. A little competition: Who catches the best scene or even all Big Five with his camera? Admittedly, a little bit of luck is needed! But you have the whole day for it, because it goes only in the late afternoon back to the accommodation.

      Meals
Breakfast, picnic and dinner are included.

      Accommodation
Tipilikwani Mara Camp [Followed by overnight]
Tipilikwani Mara Camp is your accommodation again today.

      Notes
You will be on a full day game drive.
If you want to experience more, we have the following recommendation for you:
Experience a hot air balloon flight over the Masai Mara at sunrise followed by a champagne breakfast in the middle of nature. The price for the approx. one hour hot air balloon ride with breakfast is 500 โ‚ฌ per person. Other international guests also take part in this excursion. Duration and course of the trip depend on weather and wind conditions. This optional activity takes place alternatively to the safari in the early morning. We kindly ask you to pre-book the excursion with Chameleon well in advance of your trip.
  • Day 9 Day 9: Lake Naivasha
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 9: Lake Naivasha

Today you have to say goodbye to the Masai Mara. One more breakfast and then the journey goes east until you arrive in the small town of Naivasha at noon. This town is located directly at the foot of the Rift Valley escarpment. The area around Naivasha is Kenyaโ€™s most important cultivation area. Because of the many flower plantations on the western shore of the lake, which is todayโ€™s stage destination, you can recognize the area from afar. Once there, you may first of all enjoy the view from your camp and after a decent refreshment board a boat to observe flora and fauna from completely different perspectives. You will stop at Crescent Island, a crescent-shaped peninsula in the private reserve. On foot, youโ€™ll walk along its paths, passing zebras, wildebeests, guenons and giraffes. Then itโ€™s back to your accommodation.

      Meals
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in the price.

      Accommodation
      Lake Naivasha Simba Lodge
Lake Naivasha Simba Lodge is located close to the lakeshore of Lake Naivasha. All rooms have a small lounge area, a bathroom, a private terrace or balcony overlooking the large, well-kept garden. Here you can experience the local wildlife during a walk through the park. With a little luck you can watch zebras, giraffes and impalas directly from your room or the restaurant. After an exciting safari you can jump into the refreshing water of the swimming pool.

      Notes
The driving distance is about 290 kilometers. The driving time is about 5 hours.
We recommend you to take a jacket with you, as it can be cool and windy on the water. Since you are on a small boat, it may rock a bit, but we assure you that your boat driver has everything under control.
  • Day 10 Day 10: Off To Amboseli National Park
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 10: Off To Amboseli National Park

Once again enjoy the sunrise over the lake and after breakfast itโ€™s time to say goodbye. You are going back to Nairobi, but donโ€™t worry - you are not going home yet. Today Nairobi is only a stopover. Enjoy the hustle and bustle along the way, marvel at the landscape and reflect on the days. When you arrive in Nairobi, you stop at the small factory of "Ocean Sole". And the name is not unknown to you, it reminds you of your arrival day in Kenya. Here, small works of art are made from old flip-flops washed up on the shores. Itโ€™s a great initiative to recycle trash and give locals a job. After lunch, explore the factory; then head further and further south - the majestic roof of Africa is getting closer and closer. This dreamlike scenery, elephants in the savannah and Kilimanjaro in the background, will surely look familiar to you. No other area of Africa is captured in as many films and photos as Amboseli National Park. And you are right in the middle of it - first animal observations are guaranteed during a game drive in the afternoon. Take in the breathtaking scenery and enjoy Kenyaโ€™s wide-screen cinema!

      Meals
Breakfast, picnic and dinner are included in the price.

      Accommodation
      Tulia Amboseli Safari Camp
Tulia Amboseli Safari Camp boasts a stunning location with unique views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the forested plains of Amboseli National Park. The camp has twelve spacious safari tents with indoor and outdoor sitting areas. English breakfast and three set menus for lunch and dinner are offered at the camp. From the comfortable lounge with bar, youโ€™ll look out over a small watering hole frequented by elephants, zebras, giraffes and other animals. Enjoy the sunrise over Kilimanjaro or end the day cozily around the campfire.

      Notes
The driving distance is about 330 kilometers. The driving time is about 7 hours, excluding the game drive.
  • Day 11 Day 11: Safari With Kilimanjaro In The Background
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 11: Safari With Kilimanjaro In The Background

In the early morning, when the temperatures are still mild, the chance of spotting many animals in search of prey is highest. Therefore, you set off very early - you go on a game drive through the mostly very dry Amboseli. Not for nothing the park was named so - in the language of the Massai this is called "salty dust". You move through the open savannah, roam acacia forests, drive around swamps and stop at Lake Amboseli or where it is supposed to be. The camera is always at hand for the scenes that have not yet come before your lens. With a bit of luck you will even see shy hyenas and cheetahs. Later, in any case, there is a legendary sunset - and if you have earned the top prize, there is a photo with passing herds of elephants and the red Kili in the background. This is the best way to end the evening.

      Meals
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.

      Accommodation
Tulia Amboseli Safari Camp [follow-up overnight]
Tulia Amboseli Safari Camp is your accommodation today as well.

      Notes
You will be on game drive in the morning and afternoon.
If you want to experience more, we have the following recommendation for you:
Experience a hot air balloon ride in the Amboseli at sunrise followed by a champagne breakfast in the middle of nature. The price for the approximately one-hour hot air balloon ride with breakfast is 500 โ‚ฌ per person. Other international guests also take part in this excursion. Duration and course of the trip depend on weather and wind conditions. This optional activity takes place alternatively to the safari in the early morning. We kindly ask you to pre-book the excursion with Chameleon well in advance of your trip.
  • Day 12 Day 12: Nairobi And Farewell Dinner
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 12: Nairobi And Farewell Dinner

Once again we get up early to observe the animals of the Amboseli National Park during their breakfast. After our lunch in the camp we finally leave for Nairobi. During the drive, sort through your photos and count how many elephants have strolled through Amboseli National Park in front of your lens. You will be amazed! Once you arrive in Nairobi, check into your hotel. You now have time to rest, relax at the hotelโ€™s pool, and for the very diligent there is even a small but fine fitness area available. But then itโ€™s time to freshen up and get into your comfortable evening clothes, because tonight you are invited to dinner at our partner agency - a delicious meal and great hosts await you for the crowning farewell dinner!

    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 13: Elephant Orphanage, Karen Blixen Museum And Flight Home

Before heading back home tonight, there is still program around Nairobi. After an extended breakfast, we make our first stop at the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, a little outside the city. This foundation, established in 1977, has since succeeded in expertly rehabilitating the little quadrupeds and preparing them for life in the wild. Itโ€™s an impressive project, and you can immerse yourself in its history when you visit. Who knows, maybe one or the other pachyderm you have spotted in Amboseli in the last few days was a former resident of this elephant orphanage? In any case, it is quite possible. After lunch we will continue to the legendary Karen Blixen Museum. Let yourself be captivated by the story of this fascinating woman, on whose life story the world-famous bestseller "Beyond Africa" is based. Then itโ€™s time to say goodbye as you fly back home. In your luggage you have unbelievable stories, encounters and experiences - a journey to dreamlike Kenya comes to an end.

      Board
      Breakfast and lunch are included.

      Notes
The driving distance is about 30 kilometers. The driving time is about 1.5 hours. As in many big cities, there is sometimes very heavy traffic in Nairobi. It may happen that you are on the road longer.
When visiting the elephant orphanage we would like to ask you not to touch the elephants. Elephants are wild animals and do not seek direct contact with humans.
