Day 1: Arrival to Almaty City, meeting at the airport

Day 2: Sightseen tours in Almaty, Medeo & Shymbulak

Stop At: Medeu Cable Car , Shymbulak Ski Resort, Gornaya St 558, Almaty, Kazakhstan
Chimbulak ski resort is located in the picturesque gorge of Zailiysky Alatau at an altitude of 2260 m above sea level, 25 km from the center of Almaty. The average air temperature in summer is + 20C, in winter -7C. The average thickness of the snow cover is up to 150 cm, the number of sunny days per year is up to 90%. The snow cover is from November to May. The ski slopes are serviced by two twin-chairlifts, a single-chairlift and a tow rope, as well as a free towing lift. Since 2003, a 4-seater road came into operation, opening a new region for lovers of extreme skiing. The lifts will lift you from a height of 2260 m, above sea level to the Talgar Pass (3163 m), a height difference of 903 m. The tracks are prepared by three snow-sealing machines (Ratrak).

At a height of 3163 meters above sea level, lifts start up. To the right and to the left in front of you are majestic mountains with snowy slopes and eternally green Tien Shan firs. Chimbulak's calling card is a variety of routes, including gentle and gentle slopes for beginners, long trails for trained skiers, FIS-tracks for downhill skiing, wild valleys with pristine snow and half-pipe for snowboarders, extreme bends for pros, a special track for mogula . Every year new routes appear on Chimbulak. Chimbulak ski slopes are certified by the International Ski Federation (FIS). Downhill and gigantic slalom tracks are rightfully included in the ten most difficult tracks in the world.

Day 3: Tour to Big Almaty Lake, Kok-Tobe

Big Almaty Lake is located 28.5km south of Almaty up a gorge of the Bolshaya Almatinka River, 2,511m above sea level. The lake is within the Alatau โ€“ Eliy National park and both the Gorge and the lake are an attraction for visitors using Almaty as their base. The lake is used for both hydro electric power, and the water supply for the city, but this does not detract from the magnificent mountain scenery.

The mountains, Sovetov to the southeast, Ozyorny to the south and Turist to the southwest form a backdrop on all sides to the lake, producing some spectacular reflections, changing colour throughout the seasons. All three mountains are around the 4,000 metres high, with a glacial water running down towards the lake.

The hill the mast stands on is the highest point of the city of Almaty at 1100 metres and the mast itself is 350 meters tall. The viewpoint from Kok-tobe is well worth a visit with panoramic views of the city in all directions. A cable car ride is a really good way to the top of Kok-tobe Hill and see the view of surrounding mountains, the start of which is located close to the Hotel Kazakhstan. The cable car goes over some of the oldest parts of Almaty and itโ€™s interesting to see the old fruit growing gardens.

Day 4: Shopping day, Green bazaar, Mega Mall

Zelyony (Green) Bazaar. Green bazaar is inseparable part of Almaty tours for its rich history too. The first prototype of the trade center appeared on its current place more than hundred years ago, and since then it has remained an important central trade point of the entire Almaty. In 1875, according to the order of Rafikov, an influential merchant from Semipalatinsk, there was built a Guest Yard. Almaty then was named Verniy, and Vernenskiy Guest Yard served as a haunting place for traveling merchants and caravans; local vendors opened market stalls there. The Guest Yard consisted of two medium pavilions located along the Trade Street. As today, customers had a big choice of fresh fruits, vegetables and grains there. Rare things like Chinese tea could also be found. The stalls were filled with raw materials, household items and many others.
