COVID-19 Safety Program We have reviewed every aspect of our operations and adapted. We have implemented a range of enhanced protocols so that you can sit back, relax and enjoy the serenity.  These protocols are based upon the Australian Federal Government and National COVID Compliance Commission COVID-Safe Guidelines, as well as the World Travel & Tourism Councilโ€™s โ€˜Safe Travel Protocols for Tour Operatorsโ€™.  We will continually evaluate the most up to date information from these sources and adapt as required to ensure we are doing everything we can to keep our passengers safe.  Vaccination Policy In accordance with current Government regulations, it is no longer a requirement to be double vaccinated, although we do highly recommend it. Fit for Travel Declaration All passengers are required to complete the โ€˜Fit for Travel Self- declarationโ€™ to confirm they are free from illness two days prior to the tour departing.  Guides Training & Expertise   All guides have completed COVID-19 Awareness Training for both South Australia and Western Australia. Health Safety Environment Australia has designed these programs. They teach us how to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19 and adapt to a โ€œCOVID-safeโ€ way of operating.  Hygiene and Sanitation  Each vehicle is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected at the beginning and end of each tour, with an emphasis on high touch points and hard surfaces. Accommodation

Camping accommodation is at a private property called Happiness at Antechamber Bay. Here, you can roll out your swag and camp under the stars in the camping area. The property also has a camp kitchen, bathroom and lounge facilities. It is also only a 10-minute wander down a bush track to a magical beach. If itโ€™s too cold or wet to camp outside around the campfire, there is enough room to roll out our swags under the verandah of the old wine cellar where our lounge, kitchen and bathroom facilities are. When camping, we use single swags. Swags are โ€™Aussie Bed Rollsโ€™ made from sturdy canvas with a mattress built into the swag. There are different types of swags, and the one used on this tour is the Expedition Swag, which is enclosed. Passengers will need a sleeping bag and pillow to insert into the swag. Sleeping bags โ€“ we prefer passengers to provide their own sleeping bag and pillow to insert into the swag. However, this tour has an option if you donโ€™t have one to purchase a new 0-degree sleeping bag for $50. Alternatively, you can hire a used one for $20. These options need to be added to your cart at the time of booking. We donate old and unused sleeping bags to a homeless charity, ensuring they go to good use after their time with us. This is a camping tour, and involvement from the passengers is required. This can include helping with meals and packing up camp.

Itinerary of your trip 3- Day Kangaroo Island Adventure Tour

  • Day 1 Adelaide To Kangaroo Island
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Adelaide To Kangaroo Island

Today, an early start is required to catch your 6.45 am SeaLink bus transfer from Adelaide CBD to the ferry terminal at Cape Jervis. Board the ferry for a 45-minute cruise to Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island. Your Untamed Escapes Guide will meet you here and give you an overview of the adventure ahead for the next few days.

      ยญ

Hop on board the bus and start exploring Kangaroo Island! Take a scenic coastal drive to Pennington Bay on the islandโ€™s south coast. With powerful swells rolling in, this beach is famed for its epic surf breaks. Climb the 500 steps to the top of Prospect Hill, the highest point on Kangaroo Island, for rewarding views and to get your bearings.

      ยญ

Kangaroo Island is the worldโ€™s oldest bee sanctuary and is home to the only pure strain of Ligurian Bee in the world. Pop into a honey farm to learn all about these fascinating creatures and, of course, do a tasting. Next, visit family-owned Dudley Wines, where you can sprawl out on their lush lawns and take in the incredible views over the ocean โ€“ the perfect place to relax and connect with your fellow travellers.

      ยญ

Come late afternoon, arrive at our eco-campsite, aptly named โ€œHappinessโ€. Featuring private access to one of Kangaroo Islandโ€™s most stunning beaches โ€“ Antechamber Bay, youโ€™ll be right at home here for the next two nights. Enjoy some free time to relax or take a walk down to the beach.

      ยญ

Tonight, roll out your swag underneath the billions of stars of the Milky Way and feel an incredible connection with nature.

      ยญ

Today we drive approximately 240 km.

      Kangaroo Island

Today, weโ€™ll set our coordinates for the iconic Flinders Chase National Park, located at the northwestern point of the island. This park is renowned for its rock formations, impressive beaches, and abundant wildlife.

      ยญ

At Admirals Arch, wander along a boardwalk as you soak up the serenity and keep your eyes peeled for the resident New Zealand fur seals. Marvel at the Remarkable Rocks, shaped by nature for over 500 million years. Take a bush walk at Weirs Cove before a picnic lunch to refuel.

      ยญ

After lunch, itโ€™s time for an incredible wildlife encounter. Seal Bay is home to the third-largest colony of endangered Australian sea lions, with around 800 calling the bay home. Join a 45-minute tour with the National Parks & Wildlife guides, who know pretty much everything there is to know about these beautiful creatures. Follow a boardwalk through the dunes down to the beach, and on the way, pass sea lions snoozing or even lying in the middle of the beach path and learn about conservation efforts to save this endangered species.

      ยญ

After a full day, head back towards camp to reflect and relax over dinner before rolling out your swag and counting shooting stars.

  • Day 3 Kangaroo Island To Adelaide
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Kangaroo Island To Adelaide

Start the final day of your tour with a morning bush walk not far from camp, and after packing up, weโ€™ll bid farewell to Happiness. Along the quiet north coast of the island, find spectacular bird life in the lagoonโ€™s shallow, calm waters and trees. Here, we will find a spot to have our final meal together, followed by a nice stroll along the water, looking for the many different species that inhabit the American River.

In the warmer months, weave your way through a labyrinth of caves before emerging at the beach voted best in Australia in 2023 โ€“ Stokes Bay. If the weather is right, enjoy some free time to snorkel among the rock pools or soak up the surrounding landscape.

The National Trust of South Australia cares for the worldโ€™s natural and built heritage and relies on the support of volunteers to protect and preserve special places. So, this afternoon, roll up your sleeves for some conservation volunteering at Zelling Reserveโ€”an important wildflower sanctuary preserving native flora on the eastern end of Kangaroo Island. Our activity depends on the time of year but could involve collecting seeds, weeding or planting trees whilst learning from their passionate volunteers.

After a fabulous Kangaroo Island tour, arrive in Penneshaw for your 5.30 pm ferry back to the mainland. Once you arrive in Cape Jervis, your SeaLink bus connection will have you back in Adelaide at 9 pm.
