Itinerary

Day 1: Day 1-2 / Baga Gazar and Tsaagan Survaga

Stop At: Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupa), Mongolia
We will pick you up at your hotel (or at the airport / train station according to your needs) in the early morning to drive up to the Baga Gazar Rocks (250 km)and then continue up to Tsagaan Suvarga (200 km). Tsagaan Suvarga was an old sea bottom where you can see the land grading from yellow to reddish. We will do some hiking around this place and stop there for the night.

Day 2: Day 1-2 / Baga Gazar and Tsaagan Survaga

Stop At: Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupa), Mongolia

Day 3: Day 3 / Yol Valley

Stop At: Gurvan Saikhan Mountains, Mongolia
After breakfast, we will head to Yolyn Am.
Yol in the Mongolian language means vulture. We will explore the valley and we will see the ice that persists even in summer months in contrast to the desert climate. We will also visit the natural museum Gurvan Saikhan inside the park.

Day 4: Day 4 / Khongor

Stop At: Khongor, Mongolia
Khongor is the second largest sand dune in the country that stretches from the north side of the mountain ranges of Zoolun and Sevrei. Near the Khongor River, there is an oasis. We will ride the camels and we will explore these amazing dunes. We will climb one of these dunes and we continue the excursion exploring the area.

Day 5: Day 5 / Bayanzag

Stop At: Orkhon Valley, Mongolia
From the hot spring, we will continue towards the famous Orkhon valley to the highest waterfalls of 25 meters of national heritage Unesco. In addition to these wonderful waterfalls, there is a volcanic area. We will take the horses or depending on your preference will walk to discover the area.

Day 6: Day 6 / Ongi Monastery

Stop At: Mongolia, Mongolia
Ongi Monastery is a famous ruin of a big monastery near the Ongiin River, with 28 temples and other buildings near the Rocky Mountain. That monastery had around 1000 lamas before Russian destroyed the most part of that during the Stalinist purges around the 1930s.

In 1990 monks come back to the Ongi monastery and they continue to practice their Buddhist education from young children until around 60 years old.

Day 7: Day 7 / Karakorum

Stop At: Mongolia, Mongolia
After breakfast, we will drive toward Bayanzag (240 km) where we will see this beautiful rocky formation created due to the erosion of water and wind over millions of years. There you will see dinosaurs bones and eggs found by an American zoologist. The site is also famous for the Flaming Cliffs. It is wonderful to watch the sunset from there because it seems to be “on fire”. We will take a walk around and sleep there.

Day 8: Day 8 / Hurstai National Park

Stop At: Hustai National Park, Hustai National Park, Tov Province
After a short introduction that helps you to learn something about the story of the park and the famous Takhi horses, we will continue the day with an excursion with the ranger of the park for seeing the famous takhi, the wild horses but also marmots, deer, eagles and other kinds of birds. After lunch and the sighting, small hiking is possible around the park.

Day 9: Day 9 / Ulan Bator

Stop At: Ulaanbaatar, Ulaanbaatar
