  • Day 1 Paraguay River To Brazil

      Paraguay River To Brazil

      Enjoy a nature and birding tour on the Paraguay river, just 50 km from Asunciรณn. On a boat ride through the river, we will head towards some less populated areas, where we will find large number of waterbirds, including different species of Herons, Storks, Sandpipers, Terns, Kingfishers. We will also observe several birds of prey, probably Seedeaters (depending on the time of year), as well as some of the aquatic mammals such as Neotropical Otter, or even caimans. We will also enjoy a beautiful sunrise, giving you the opportunity to capture unique moments with your cameras with the incredible nature that offers the place.


      Before midday, we will continue our drive to Punta Porรก (Brazil), for overnight.

  • Day 2 Miranda To Bonito - Pantanal

      Miranda To Bonito - Pantanal

      We will go ahead in the Brazilian roads in direction to Bonito. Near to Bonito, we have the possibility to enjoy the translucent waters of the Rio Branco and snorkeling to see the variety of fishes of the river. In the afternoon, we will continue our journey in direction to Fazenda San Francisco. At night we will do a private safari in the Fazenda, to look for mammals. Here we will have good chances for a species of cats (Jaguar, Ocelot or Puma), armadillos, capibaras, giant anteater, Marsh Deer, Gray and Red Brocket Deers, and others.



      Recanto Ecolรณgico Rio da Prata

      ACTIVITY โ€ข PLANNED โ€ข MORNING

      Guests can float and have fun in the crystal clear waters of Recanto Ecolรณgico Rio da Prata. The establishment offers ecotourism activities in a Private Natural Heritage Reserve located in the municipality of Jardim, near Bonito, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. In addition to floating and tracking aquatic life, there are options for freshwater scuba diving for both beginners and advanced, horseback riding through the farm fields, and bird watching. Recanto Ecolรณgico Rio da Prata offers full contact with nature in a wonderful setting.


      Night Safari

      Fazenda San Francisco is located in the Miranda River Pantanal, Mato Grosso do Sul.


      There are 18 apartments decorated with Pantanal motifs such as fauna, flora and the art of the children from the Pantanal Schools. Rooms are equipped with air conditioning, ceiling fan, hot shower, minibar, emergency lights and private bathroom. Also available is a cafe which accommodates large groups, as well as a bar which serves various beverages during the day and at night. Two swimming pools are also available, with one featuring a water slide.

  • Day 3 Pantanal - Rio Miranda

      Pantanal - Rio Miranda

      We will enjoy the nature of the Pantanal in Fazenda San Francisco, with one of the trails or a horse riding. An early walk in its trails will give us the chance to see some of the Pantanal attractive birds, such as Mato Grosso Antbird, White-lored Spinetail, Buff-bellied Hermit. Other attractive birds that we will enjoy during the walk are Rufous-tailed Jacamar, Swallowed-tailed Hummingbird, Crested Oropendola, Fawn-breasted Wren, Silver-beaked Tanager and Rufous Cacholote. During the afternoon, we will take a boat trip up to the Rio Miranda, to enjoy the abundance of aquatic birds. During the boat trip, we may have the chances to see Giant Otters and Caimans.


      At night, we will enjoy other private safari to increase our chances of seeing the large mammals of the Pantanal.

  • Day 4 The Heart Of Brazilian Ecotourism

      The Heart Of Brazilian Ecotourism

      Situated in the southwestern corner of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, the picturesque playground of Bonito is known as the heart of ecotourism in Brazil. This town is a popular tourist destination as it is encircled by idyllic surrounds featuring cascading waterfalls, lush forests, crystal-clear rivers and otherworldly caves sheltering sparkling lakes and ancient stalactites. Renowned for its incredible natural beauty, this ecological paradise boasts a unique biodiversity. Visitors can look forward to a wide variety of exciting activities including: exploring the underwater wonderland on one of many snorkelling excursions through crystalline waters, hiking along a network of scenic trails, and spelunking through some of the most breathtakingly beautiful caverns in the world.


      Day Notes

      We will enjoy a walk in the trails of Fazenda San Francisco, or a boat trip in the Miranda River. Before midday, we will leave in direction to Bonito, where we are going to have lunch. In the afternoon, we will visit Buraco das Araras, where we expect to be before dusk, to see amazing flocks of Blue-and-Green and Blue-and-Yellow Macaws.


      Buraco das Araras

      ACTIVITY โ€ข PLANNED โ€ข AFTERNOON

      Buraco das Araras is one of the largest sinkholes in the world, with approximately 100 meters in depth and 500 meters in circumference, located in the city of Jardim-MS. Accessible to all, visitors can enjoy a gentle walk along a 970-metre trail, with two platforms for viewing the sinkhole and admire the vibrant Macaws that flock overhead.

      DAY 5 - 8

      Visitors keen to get off the beaten track will enjoy exploring unpretentious Paraguay. Referred to as the โ€˜Heart of Americaโ€™ because of its central location between north and south, this landlocked nation of seven million is a country of contrasts. Skyscrapers stand beside crumbling colonial buildings, sports cars pull up next to horse carts at the traffic lights and western culture and ancient local cultures coexist. The indigenous Guaranรญ had been living in Paraguay for over a millennium before the arrival of colonists in the 16th century, and to this day remain highly influential, with Guaranรญ recognised as an official language alongside Spanish. The Paraguay River runs through the country, giving the capital, Asunciรณn a riverside setting.


      Day Notes

      This morning, we will visit the Rio Formoso Ecological Park, where you will have different options of activities (optional activity), from horse riding through the park, enjoy a river tubing excursion, or treeking. 


      After lunch, we  will go across ahead to west, to venture on roads that, during part of the year, are flooded by the Paraguay River, and then entering into a totally different region, the Dry Chaco, where we will see the differences in ecosystems, getting surrounded by its xerophytic forests.


      Formoso River

      ACTIVITY โ€ข PLANNED

      Arriving at Formoso River, one can explore its route and waterfalls via an easy rafting trip extending over a few kilometres. The banks of the river support a rich diversity of animal and bird life including monkeys, toucans and araras. Beneath the boat swim shoals of fish, easily viewed through crystalline waters.

  • Day 6 Laguna Capitรกn

      Laguna Capitรกn

      We will visit Laguna Capitรกn to watch birds and wildlife in the salty lagoons. In this area, we will be surrounded by the ecosystems of the Dry Chaco, with its amazing salty lagoons, where in part of the year + 2000 Chilean Flamingos, many species of waders, ducks, and egrets, shows the amazing wildlife of the Chaco, as well as Collared Peccaries, Lowland Tapir and other mammals, enrich the great nature of its dry forests.


      In the afternoon we will visit the salty lakes of Campo Marรญa or Chaco Lodge, where we will spend the rest of the day. We will see some of the Chaco endemics: Cream-backed Woodpecker, Crested Gallito, Scimitar-billed Woodcreeper, Chaco Earthcreeper, Cinereous Tyrant, Black-capped Warbling-Finch and Many-colored Chaco-Finch. Many waterbirds and shorebirds will definitively increase our list during this day, with great possibilities to see White-faced Whistling Duck, Coscoroba Swan, up to thousands of Chilean Flamingos, Ringed and Brazilian Teal, Collared Plover, Black-necked Stilt, Lesser Yellowlegs, Buff-breasted Sandpiper, and many others.

  • Day 7 Buraco Das Araras

      Buraco Das Araras

      We will leave early to visit Flor del Chaco, one of the reserves of the Filadelfia community. Here we have good chances to see some of the forest birds of the Chaco, like Stripe-backed Antbird, the Near-threatened Black-bodied Woodpecker, Orange-backed Troupial, but also some mammals such as Three-banded Armadillo, Pampas and Crab-eating Foxes, and Hog-nosed Skunk.


      After lunch we will leave in the direction to Fortรญn Toledo, where we would visit the Tagua Conservation Project, the breeding project of an endangered mammal, the Chacoan Peccary. During the afternoon, we will visit its Reserve, where there is a good chance to see the Quebracho-crested Tinamou, and also mammals such as Chacoan Peccary, White-lipped and Collared Peccary, Chacoan Mara and Azaraยดs Night Monkey. Overnight at Fortรญn Toledo.

  • Day 8 National Park Cerro Corรก - Asunciรณn

      National Park Cerro Corรก - Asunciรณn

      This morning, we will visit the Museum of Filadelfia (closed on Sunday) or the Chaco Interpretation Center (closed on Monday), before starting our drive back to Asunciรณn.


      In our way to Asunciรณn, we will visit the Humid Chaco, with its characteristics palm savannas and forest islands, in one of the Important Bird Areas where in a morning we usually add + 80 bird species, howler monkeys, gray-brocket deer and sometimes we were able to add to our wild list of the site, the Giant-Anteater. At Cerrito, only 40 km of Asunciรณn (1 hour approximately), where we will see many birds in ecosystems of Chaco Humid, including Plumbeous and Buff-necked Ibis, Black-collared Hawk, Golden-green and Pale-breasted Woodpeckers, Red-legged Seriema, Great-rufous Woodcreeper, Red-billed Scythebill, Purplish and Plush-crested Jays, Black-capped Donacobius, Scarlet-headed Blackbird and Crested Oropendola. In this spot, we also have one of the best chances to see the endangered Strange-tailed Tyrant.


      At the end of the afternoon, we will continue to Asunciรณn, to leave you at your hotel.
