  • Day 1 Transfer To Akagera National Park - Boat Ride On Lake Ihema

      Transfer To Akagera National Park - Boat Ride On Lake Ihema

      After a relaxed breakfast from your hotel in Kigali, you head to Akagera National Park.

      Akagera National Park covers 2500 kmยฒ of savannah west of the Kagera River, in the northeast of Rwanda. The park has a variety of wildlife and is a habitat for over 500 different species of birds. Herds of elephants and buffalo emerge from the woodland to drink at the lakes, while you might stumble across a leopard, a spotted hyena, or even a lion. Giraffe and zebra haunt the savannah, and more than a dozen types of antelope inhabit the park.

      You will have lunch and in the afternoon you will go for a boat ride on Lake Ihema in search of water-loving animals like the hippos, and crocodiles. 

      Return to your lodge for dinner.

      Full Day Game Drives In Akagera National Park

      Enjoy early morning breakfast and start your game drives in an open-roofed vehicle.  A full-day game drive here offers you an opportunity to spot a variety of games including elephants, buffalos, hippos, lions, Masai giraffe, gazelles, impala, baboons, oribi, Butchelโ€™s zebra, topi, bush baby, leopard, bushbuck, etc. Proceed for an evening game drive after lunch. Return to your lodge for dinner.

  • Day 3 Akagera National Park โ€“ Musanze - Red- Rocks Intercultural Exchange Center

      Akagera National Park โ€“ Musanze - Red- Rocks Intercultural Exchange Center

      Have breakfast and then enjoy a morning game drive. We shall return to Kigali and you will continue your journey to Musanze, the second largest town in Rwanda, with its stunning backdrop of five volcanic mountains โ€“ The Virungas.

      Arrive at Red Rocks Intercultural Exchange Center for lunch before joining the local brew makers to understand the chemistry of the process of brewing a local beer from bananas. 

      If you find the activity interesting enough, you can join the women in squeezing the juice out of the bananas and drinking a glass of juice (optional). Understand how long juice takes to turn into alcohol after adding in sorghum flour.

      Enjoy a big glass of our local brew if you feel like it! Among other activities they also do basket weaving in this local community, an activity which supports local families financially. Later drive to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

  • Day 4 Gorilla Trekking In Volcanoes National Park - Ellen Degeneres Campus

      Gorilla Trekking In Volcanoes National Park - Ellen Degeneres Campus

      After an early morning breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters together with your packed lunch, early enough to be briefed about the code of conduct while with the gorillas. 

      This will be followed by entering the forest in search of the gorillas in the forest, which may take 2-6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas in the jungle. 

      Meet and stay with the gorillas for a maximum of one hour. 

      Later, visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund in Rwanda, which is a center for gorilla conservation and scientific research.

  • Day 5 Golden Monkey Trekking In Volcanoes National Park - Transfer To Lake Kivu

      Golden Monkey Trekking In Volcanoes National Park - Transfer To Lake Kivu

      After breakfast, report to the park headquarters for your first experience with the endangered species in the Volcanoes National Park. The golden monkey trek is normally an easy trek that takes 1-2 hours.

      Later, transfer to Lake Kivu.

      Today you will transfer to Kigali for a city tour.

      Kigali City tour will introduce you to the capital of the land of Thousand Hills, Rwanda by visiting the following places:

      • Drive to Kigali Genocide Memorial
      • Visit Inema Arts Center 
      • Visit the New and Old Kigali
      • Drive to Kimironko Market and experience local shopping for fruits, vegetables, clothes and handcrafts.
