Tarangire National Park | Lake Manyara Mawemawe Lodge

You will be impressed with Tarangire National Park. Most visitors love the distinct shapes of the baobab trees silhouetted against the sky, making this place feel like a fairy-tale African landscape. Or visitors remember the elephants that roam in family bands everywhere throughout the park. If youโ€™re lucky, youโ€™ll also encounter the big cats โ€“ lions especially, cheetahs and leopards โ€“ that are always possible here. And thereโ€™s a fair degree of certainty that you will tick wildebeest, giraffe, hippo, buffalo, and zebra off your wildlife-viewing list.

Watch also for the Serengetiโ€™s famous lion prides. And thatโ€™s just the start. Some of the planetโ€™s largest and most diverse wildlife populations roam the Serengeti, not to mention millions of wildebeest and zebras, which migrate across the plains yearly.

      Serengeti | Kontik Tented Camps

The great wildebeest migration follows a circular pattern, with the animals moving clockwise around the Serengeti ecosystem. The migration is driven by the need for the animals to find fresh grazing and water and is closely tied to the seasonal rains. The wildebeest typically give birth to their calves in February; by June, the herds start to move north in search of greener pastures. They cross the Mara River into Kenya in July or August, staying until October or November before returning south to Tanzania. The migration is difficult for the animals, as they must navigate through predators such as lions, hyenas, and crocodiles. It is also a popular time for tourists to visit the Serengeti, as they can witness this incredible natural spectacle up close.

  • Day 6 Gorongoro Crater | Lake Manyara Mawemawe Lodge
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Gorongoro Crater | Lake Manyara Mawemawe Lodge

      GORONGORO CRATER | SPRINGLANDS HOTEL

Ngorongoro is a special place, and the first time you descend onto the crater floor is like no other safari experience in Africa. This is a world unto itself, one where youโ€™ll encounter the craterโ€™s 600-strong population of hyenas, as well as critically endangered black rhinos. Youโ€™ll also find elephants with larger-than-average tusks and more than 50 lions living in the crater.

But the sheer beauty of Ngorongor will most likely live longest in your memory. From early morning, mist rises from the crater, revealing steep, forested walls, sheltered waterways where hippos wallow, and a world of abundant wildlife hidden away from the rest of the world. This marks the end of your safari in Tanzania. We hope you enjoyed your trip and are planning your next safari. You will be driven to Hotel .
