Itinerary

Day 1: Day 1 โ€“ Land at Kigali before 8 am and Drive DRC

Pass By: Virunga National Park, Goma Democratic Republic of the Congo
You will meet your guide on your agreed location waiting to welcome you and embark on your drive to cross into Congo to Goma. There after you will be transfer to Mikeno Lodge for rest and overnight

Day 2: First Gorilla trekking

Pass By: Virunga National Park, Goma Democratic Republic of the Congo
Earlier in the morning after a warm breakfast transfer Bukima ranger post for the gorilla trekking experience. after the briefing you will head to the briefing point and head into the forest with the ranges and this may take 1 to 3 hours until you find the mountain Gorillas in Virunga national park When you get to see them, you will be in awe inspired by their huge size and gentle nature as you watch them go about their daily business with mothers tending to the young ones and the juveniles making an effort to impress. You will stay up to 1 hour maximum and head back to the camp enjoy a late lunch and have the rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight Ngila

Day 3: Second Gorilla Trekking

Pass By: Virunga National Park, Goma Democratic Republic of the Congo
Have Breakfast at Ngila and head out for the second gorilla trekking activity. From the gorilla trekking experience, transfer back to Mikeno Lodge. At Mikeno lodge, you will spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Dinner and Overnight Mikeno Lodge

Day 4: Orphanage gorillas

Pass By: Virunga National Park, Goma Democratic Republic of the Congo
This is the day to enjoy the environment as you explore the surroundings at Mikeno Lodge and do some community, birding and visit to the Gorilla orphanage Sekwekwe. Dinner and Overnight Mikeno Lodge

Day 5: Nyiragongo hike

Pass By: Virunga National Park, Goma Democratic Republic of the Congo
After breakfast at 7 :00 set off from mikeno lodge and proceed to Kibati village for Nyiragongo Hike. The hike takes about 5-6 hours and reaching the summit you will get a chance to view the boiling lava of the active volcano. You will spend the night at the summit shelters.

Day 6: Trek down the volcano and transfer to tchegera Island

Pass By: Virunga National Park, Goma Democratic Republic of the Congo
After breakfast on the summit 6.30am downhill volcano upon arrival to the border drive to Goma and ferry to Tchegera island for rest and overnight

Day 7: Return back to Kigali
