Day 1: Muscat
Stop At: Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, Sultan Qaboos St, Muscat 113 Oman
Upon arrival at Muscat, your guide meets you at the International Airport and accompany you to your hotel for check-in. Once refreshed, start discovering the city during a half-day guided tour. The first stop is the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, a masterpiece built by the late ruler of Oman as a gift for its people. Anyone can enter, as long as dressed modestly, and the visit takes about 30 minutes.

Stop At: Muttrah, Muttrah, Muscat Governorate
A quick 10 minutesโ drive later, enter the heart of the ancient Muscat by exploring the colourful Muttrah Souk. Be ready to sharpen your bargaining skills here! After half an hour strolling in the alleys, take some fresh marine air by walking on the Corniche for another half hour.

Your next stop leads you to the east, to visit the Old Muscat and discover its culture at Bait al Zubair Museum.

Finally, take a break at Bait al Luban to taste its authentic Omani cuisine while enjoying the view over the corniche. After dinner and before going back to the hotel, stop by the Al Alam Palace for some photo of this splendid, but private, monument.

Day 2: Sur
Stop At: Bimmah Sinkhole, Hawiyat Najm Park, Muscat Oman
Leaving early, drive to the natural wonder of Bimmah Sinkhole, a large and deep cave with a natural pool. The legend says that it has been formed by the fall of a star. Yet, to swim, go a bit further away to reach the white sands of Fins Beach.

Stop At: Wadi Shab, 50km West of Sur, Sur 411 Oman
For lunch, go to one of the picturesque villages of Wadi Shab. A wadi designates a valley, which could also be described as โoasisโ. The best way to explore this wadi it is to go on foot, for an easy 45 minutesโ hike. Explore its hidden cave and enjoy the freshwater of its natural pools.

Stop At: Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve, Ras Al Jinz, Sur 411 Oman
By the end of the day, reach Ras al Jinz and the Turtle Reserve. At night, the endangered green turtle finds here a refuge to come and lay eggs. Every year, turtles lay more than 50.000 eggs on this beach, a show you might be lucky enough to attend.
Note: The high season for turtle watching is between May and August. Accordingly, this activity is not guaranteed.

Day 3: Wahiba Sands
Stop At: Wadi Bani Khalid, Wadi Bani Khalid, Ash-Sharqiyah Governorate
In the morning, drive about 3 hours to reach Wadi Bani Khalid, one of Omanโs most famous wadi. You can swim in its large natural pools and relax in its scenery of palm trees. Explore the valley for about two hours.

Drive toward a different environment: the dunes of Wahiba Sands. This pristine desert is home to the Bedouins, an Arab nomad tribe. Tonight, you are their guests in their desert camp. If you request it, you can ride camels or have fun with other activities in the sand. In the evening, share a traditional barbecue and simply enjoy the myriad of stars in the sky.

Day 4: Ibra and Jabreen
Stop At: Ibra, Ibra, Ash-Sharqiyah Governorate
Start your day after a succulent home-made breakfast in the desert. Just an hour away from the Bedouin camp is Ibra, one of Omanโs oldest city. Walk into the historical city-centre and explore its traditional market, dating back to when Ibra was a major trading centre.

Stop At: Birkat Al Mouz Ruins, Nizwa Oman
Hit the road again to enter the Ad Dakhiliyah Region. After 2 hours driving into the mountains, itโs time to stop at Birkat Al-Mauz for lunch. This village is nestled on the mountain and offers plenty of opportunity for a quiet walk.

Stop At: Jibreen Castle, Jabrin 612 Oman
Go back in the car, to approach your final destination for the day. But before that, make a stop at Jabreen, to visit its 17th century Castle. Finally, as the day ends rest at Nizwa, where you spend the night.

Day 5: Nizwa & Jebel Shams
Stop At: Nizwa, Nizwa, Ad-Dakhiliyah Governorate
If your journey to Nizwa happens on a Friday, wake up early to attend the Cattle Market. Observe this picturesque exchange between traders and buyers for about half an hour. Whatever the day, shop some local delicacies at Nizwa Souk before climbing up on top of its ancient Fort.

Stop At: Al Hamra, Al Hamra, Ad-Dakhiliyah Governorate
Then, for lunch, quit the city and go deep into the Hajar Mountains with a 45 minutes ride. The old town of Al Hamra, with its mudbrick houses, makes a perfect lunch break environment.

Head toward Misfat Al Abriyeen, another authentic mountain village. Walk for an hour and meet its inhabitants to learn more about their lives.

Then, itโs time to go off-road to explore the impressive Wadi An Nakhr for about an hour.

Starts your day with more off-road driving to dive into Wadi Bani Awf. This large wadi has diverse landscapes, from lush greenery to mineral cliffs but can only be discovered with an experienced driver.

Stop At: Bald Sayt, Oman
Guided for 2 hours and a half, stop for a peaceful picnic in the remote village of Bilad Sayt, one of the many villages of this wadi. Walk around to get the peculiar atmosphere of the place for half an hour before heading back toward Muscat.

Stop At: Nakhl, Nakhl, Al Batinah Governorate
On your way to Muscat, stop by Nakhal to relax at its natural hot spring. By the end of the day, get back to your hotel for the last night in Oman.
