TRAVEL ADVISORY The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has continued to implement measures towards controlling COVID-19 Pandemic. Based on the global epidemiological situation and emergence of new variants of viruses that cause COVID-19, there is an increased risk of their importation into our country. As such, the Government of the United  Republic of Tanzania has decided to elevate and enhance prevailing preventive measures especially those with regard to International Travel. In view of this, the Government has updated the Travel Advisory No. 5 of 5th August, 2020 to version No.6, effective from 4th May 2021 to accommodate additional measures related to international travels as follows: 1. All authorities at points of entry should ensure adherence to preventive measures by travelers and staff including hand hygiene, use of alcohol-based sanitizers, physical distancing and wearing of face-masks.  2. All travelers are required to truthfully fill in an online Travelerโ€™s Surveillance Form available at https: afyamsafiri.moh.go.tz within 24 hours before arrival to Tanzania. 3. All travelers, whether foreigners or returning residents will be required to present a negative COVID-19 test certificate upon arrival. The test should be based on Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) using sample collected within 72 hours before arrival to Tanzania. 4. All travelers, whether foreigners or returning residents entering or leaving the United Republic of Tanzania, will be subjected to enhanced screening for COVID19 infection including a Rapid test to those arriving from countries with high number of COVID 19 cases. The cost for the Rapid test is 25 USD per traveler. 5. All travelers, whether foreigners or returning residents arriving from countries with  new COVID 19 variants based on WHO daily updates or those who have travelled through those countries in the last 14 days regardless of route taken shall be subjected to rapid test at Point of Entry followed by 14 days mandatory quarantine at their own cost. Page 1 of 3 6. Travelers subjected for mandatory quarantine shall choose a place from the list designated by the Government. Returning residents will be allowed to isolate themselves in their homes. 7. Upon arrival at any point of entry (Airport, ground crossing or Ports), all travelers will be provided with health information cards with toll free number and advised to self-monitor for symptoms and signs. In case they develop any symptoms and signs, they will be tested and treated at designated health facilities by the Government at their own cost. 8. Travelers on transit in other countries more than 72 hours will be required to be retested by rapid test upon arrival in Tanzania. 9. Crew members shall be required to present a valid negative COVID-19 test certificate as a condition of entry or departure. In addition, they will be screened for symptoms and signs in line with the countryโ€™s protocol. 10. While in the country, atl international travelers should adhere to Infection Prevention and Control measures such as hand hygiene, mask wearing and physical distancing as deemed appropriate. 11.AII arriving/departing conveyances must provide Advance Passenger Information so as to allow the Authorities at the Points of Entry to scrutinize the manifest for possible high-risk passenger identification. 12. Pilot/Captain/Driver in command of conveyance should, prior to/on arrival, submit to Health Authorities at Points of entry dully filled conveyance health declaration forms (Health Part of General Declaration, Maritime Health Declaration and Ground Transport/Vehicles Health Declaration Form). 13.All Conveyance operators should adhere to Infection Prevention and Control measures such as hand hygiene, mask wearing and physical distancing as appropriate; 14. Arriving Conveyances will be subjected to decontamination at Point of Entry where necessary. Additional Measures relating to trucks/vehicles carrying Goods and Services:  l. Have only 2-3 crew Members per vehicle to facilitate smooth border crossing in the region. ll. Crew members have to declare their final destinations at the Points of Entry (POE), and during their journey are allowed to only stop at locations designated by the Government. Page 2 of 3 Ill. Truck will be decontaminated before it is allowed to continue to its final destination if driver or crew members are suspected to have COVID-19 or tested COVID-19 positive. IV. Driver or crew members will be subjected to enhanced screening at Points of Entry and may be quarantined or isolated at designated facilities at their own cost in case they are suspected of COVID-19 infection. V. In case crews are quarantined/isolated while on transit, truck owners/operators must make necessary arrangements to back-up their crew to ensure that goods are delivered to the intended destination. VI. All drivers or crew members with negative COVID-19 may randomly be selected for re-testing upon arrival for quality assurance. Vil. In case of any medical emergency while in the United Republic of Tanzania, please call Toll Free Health Emergency Number: 199.   • Day 1 Arusha To Tarangire

      Arusha To Tarangire

      Pick up at 8:00 AM from your hotel in Arusha and depart for Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch for a full day game drive. Tanzaniaโ€™s third largest National park is known for its majestic baobab trees that dot the landscape, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. The Tarangire River is the centerpiece of this park which is famous for some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa. Here you may see lion, leopard, cheetah, lesser kudu, buffalo, Oryx, eland, giraffe and zebra. Post the game drive, you will head back to your camp/lodge where a delicious dinner awaits you.

  • Day 2 Transfer To Ndutu (South Serengeti)

      Transfer To Ndutu (South Serengeti)

      You will kickstart your day after a delicious breakfast, by about 8AM. The destination for today is the Ndutu region which is a 3hr drive from your accommodation in Karatu.After about an hour commencing the drive, you will enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (Ngorongoro) where you will notice the landscape changing from hilly forests to plain and green grasslands as you drive further.Once you reach Ndutu you will begin your day game drive with a convenient stop for your picnic lunch. Sweeping grasslands of the Ndutu cover the region which gradually fade into the Serengeti.Ndutu forms a part of the route for the annual migration of more than 2 million wildebeests and thousands of zebra, antelope and gazelle. During game drives at the right season between December and April, you will be able to see the fertile plains turn into calving grounds and nursery for the great migration.The calving season attracts hordes of predators preying on vulnerable young wildebeest. Crested with Ndutu lake and Lake Masek, these waterholes offer plenty of wildlife game during the dry season.The Ndutu is also the home ground for 6 species of big cats โ€“ leopard, lion, cheetah, caracal, serval and wildcat. The action-packed game drive will end late in the evening by around 5PM.You will now head towards your choice of accommodation, where a freshly prepared dinner awaits you. Ensure you get some good rest and recharge yourself for another eventful day.

      Stunned by the previous dayโ€™s spotting of the migration, today you get another chance to view the beautiful wildlife spectacle. The Ndutu region is a part of the glorious Serengeti National Park as well as the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (Ngorongoro). You can either have a relaxed breakfast and depart for full day game drives around 9:00 AM with packed lunch and return back to lodge late afternoon around 6:00 PM. Or you can depart at 6:00 AM on an early morning game drive. Later return to accommodation for breakfast and relax for a bit and depart on an afternoon game drive with packed lunch. Today you will be following the migration depending on its location. During game drives at the right season between December and April, you will be able to see the fertile plains turn into calving grounds and nursery for the great migration. This season attracts hordes of predators preying on vulnerable young wildebeest. Watching the circle of life take its course will be an unforgettable experience etched for life. The action-packed game drive will end late in the evening by around 5PM. You will now head towards your choice of accommodation, where a freshly prepared dinner awaits you.       The excitement for today will be quite high as you make your way into the most celebrated wildlife park in the world โ€“ The Serengeti. After finishing up a good breakfast, you will head out towards the Serengeti National Park and travel in the midst of the never ending plain grasslands.Serengeti, means endless plains in the local African language and watching the grassland stretch out as far as the eye can see and eventually merging with the sky at the horizon is an absolutely breathtaking view.With an overall land area of 14,763 Sq Kms, It puts our notion about distance to shame. The Serengeti also houses the glorious โ€œBig 5โ€ (elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard). Along with the โ€œBig 5โ€, a very pleasant sighting would be one of Africaโ€™s most beautiful animals โ€“ The Impala.The Serengeti ecosystem supports the greatest remaining concentration of plains game in Africa. You must also look out for the Serengeti โ€œKopjesโ€ which are massive boulders of granite standing in a sea of grass. They provide ample shelter to a large variety of flora and fauna.A picnic lunch will be done during the day long game drive itself. The eventful day comes to an end with a heavy dinner and a good nightโ€™s rest in your accommodation.

      After breakfast, you will have a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park. Later depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area with picnic lunch. Ngorongoro Crater is the largest collapsed volcanic crater in the world and fourteen kilometers of isolated natural beauty. Ngorongoro Crater is surrounded by a ring of extinct volcanoes and the floor, dotted with watering holes, shelters some 30,000 animals. The eventful day comes to an end with a heavy dinner and a good nightโ€™s rest in your accommodation.

      Ngorongoro Crater Tour (5 Hours) To Arusha

      On the last day of your safari, you will have an early start. Finishing up with a quick breakfast you will make an early descent at around 6:30 AM into the crater floor. The Ngorongoro Crater is the worldโ€™s largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera. It has a massive floor of about 260 sq kms with a depth of over 2000 feet. The 5-hour game drive on the crater floor will show you a lot of animal action. Keeping the camera ready is definitely recommended. The African elephant, buffalo, Black rhino, Hippos, Hyenas, Cheetahs and Lions are found in plenty. Post the picnic lunch at the beautiful Hippo pool, you will begin a steep ascend to the top exit of the crater. This is the last leg of your safari, with a 4hr drive left to Arusha. You will be dropped off to your preferred location in Arusha by 6:00 PM in the evening. With an incredible experience and loads of memories to cherish, this is the time you bid goodbye to your team.
