Day 1: Kilimanjaro International Airport To Arusha

Meru   slopes  tours and safaris  guide will pick you up at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and take you to their office in Arusha. As local Tanzanians, their guides know well the country and Arusha city, so youโ€™ll be in good hands from when you arrive at the moment you leave.

After your long flight, you will be pleased to discover that Arusha โ€“ the undisputed โ€˜safari capitalโ€™ of East Africa- is perched at 1400 meters above sea level, keeping the temperatures and humidity relatively low. All around this important city are some of Tanzaniaโ€™s greatest delights. Mount Meru towers above Arusha, while even distant Kilimanjaro can be seen on a clear day. Arusha provides the ideal starting-point for safari-lovers, within reach of Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.

      Day 2: Arusha To Tarangire

Today we set out early, collecting you from your Arusha hotel and heading south to stunning Tarangire National Park. We arrive at your campsite by noon, in time for a pleasant lunch. Your afternoon game-drive will reveal all the wonders of Tarangire, a National Park often referred to as the โ€˜Elephant Playgroundโ€™. Herds of up to 300 of these mighty mammals are sometimes seen in the park.

Itโ€™s the national park which herds of up to 300 elephants scrape the waterless river bed for alternative streams, while nomadic wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland mass the decrease lagoons. Itโ€™s the most attentiveness of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem - a smorgasbord for predators โ€“ and the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as the stately fringe-eared Oryx and peculiar long-necked gerenuk are regularly practical. The only national park that hold the migrant during the dry season and welcoming home of different species of animal.

After breakfast, proceed to Serengeti National Park for a game drive with picnic lunches and dinner and overnight will be at Seronera campsite. A million wildebeest, each one driven by the same ancient rhythm, fulfilling its instinctive role in the inescapable cycle of life: a frenzied three-week bout of territorial conquests and mating; survival of the fittest as 40km (25 mile) long columns plunge through crocodile-infested waters on the annual exodus north; replenishing the species in a brief population explosion that produces more than 8,000 calves daily before the 1,000 km (600 mile) pilgrimage begins again.

Ngorongoro Crater is the largest collapsed volcanic crater in the world and fourteen kilometers of isolated natural beauty. Ngorongoro Crater is surrounded by a ring of extinct volcanoes and the floor, dotted with watering holes, shelters some 30,000 animals. The eventful day comes to an end with a heavy dinner and a good nightโ€™s rest in your accommodation.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater To Lake Manyara

Early risers are rewarded with breath-taking views of the rising sun over the craterโ€™s edge and, after a hearty breakfast, you will drive down the adventurous track into the crater. This UNESCO world heritage site, one of the seven wonders of Africa and most incredible ecosystems on Earth, formed millions of years ago in the massive explosion of a volcano, is 610 m deep and covers roughly around 260 square kilometres. Due to its dense animal population of approximately 25 000, the crater offers the best game viewing of all the parks in Tanzania. In matter of minutes you will be able to see wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants and some of the more than 500 bird species in the area. With a little bit of luck you might catch a glimpse of the endangered black rhino through the grass.

After lunch you will ascend the steep walls of the crater and head to  Jambo  campsite for dinner and an overnight stay.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Lake Manyara To Arusha

Day 6: Lake Manyara To Arusha

After breakfast from campsite, you will proceed to Lake Manyara National Park for a full day game drive with picnic lunches. Later you will proceed to Lake Manyara. Sun bright for dinner and overnight stay. Stretching for 50km along the base of the rusty-gold 600-metre high Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is a scenic gem with a setting extolled by Ernest Hemingway as โ€œthe loveliest I had seen in Africaโ€. The compact game-viewing circuit through Manyara offers a virtual microcosm of the Tanzanian safari experience. From the entrance gate, the road winds through an expanse of lush jungle-like groundwater forest where hundreds of baboon troops lounge nonchalantly along the roadside, blue monkeys scamper nimbly between the ancient mahogany trees, dainty bush buck tread warily through the shadows, and out sized forest horn bills honk cacophonously in the high canopy.
