Stop At: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Buhoma Uganda
Today is the big day where you prepare yourself for an encounter with one of Bwindiโ€™s gentle giants: the rare Mountain Gorilla.

For most people this is the absolute highlight of their tour in Uganda.

The time taken to track the gorillas can be as few as 2 hours to as many as 7 hours.

Once the gorillas have been located, your group will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them.

Coming face-to-face with a mountain gorilla is a truly humbling and emotional experience.

This is a fantastic and privileged opportunity to get up close and personal with Ugandaโ€™s very own โ€˜Gorillas in the Mistโ€™.

Duration: 6 hours

Stop At: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Buhoma Uganda
After the gorilla trek, you will tour through the Buhoma/Batwa community, of which the success and survival of the park, and its inhabitants, relies upon. Bwindi locals are not just employees of the park, but also its protectors, so a village visit is a critical component. During our walk, weโ€™ll observe their traditional ways of life, and understand how the local people have ingeniously incorporated eco-tourism into their daily life, and have become an example of empowerment and local ownership for all of Uganda. At the end of our tour, the Batwa pygmies, one of the most vulnerable and unique indigenous cultures left on our planet, will invite you to a traditional dance and the opportunity to purchase handicrafts which directly support their community. After our tour, we'll head back to our accommodation for a wonderful Farewell Dinner, after which the sounds of the rich Bwindi forest will lull you to sleep.
