Day 1: Salta Airport / Salta

Upon arrival at Salta Airport, youโ€™ll have a private transfer to your hotel.

Stop At: Salta, Salta, Province of Salta, Northern Argentina
Welcome to Salta! You will have the rest of the day at leisure to explore the city. Salta is the selected jumping-off point for travellers seeking to explore the North of Argentina. That this is a stress-free hub: la siesta (mid-day nap) is kind of a religious ritual for locals, which means that between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. shops are usually closed.

Day 2: Salta / Tolar Grande

Pass By: Salta, Salta, Province of Salta, Northern Argentina
After breakfast, we will pick you up to start your adventure trip to Tolar Grande. This area has one of the most unusual landscapes in the region and you will have the chance to become part of them!

Pass By: Quebrada Del Toro (The Toro Gorge), from Campo Quijano to Puerta Tastil Argentina
In the first part of this trip, we will pass by the impressive Quebrada del Toro, the site of the famous Train to the Clouds. It is also a natural wonder; where human-sized cactus stand in a backdrop of eroded peaks which emerge from the golden sand.

Stop At: San Antonio de los Cobres, San Antonio de los Cobres, Province of Salta, Northern Argentina
Weโ€™ll keep on travelling to Santa Rosa de Tastil, a pre-Incan city of the XIII century, and right after, to San Antonio de Los Cobres, a typical Puna town and HQ of the Pachamama (Mother Earth) Celebration. Here, you will enjoy lunch and then continue through the Abra de Alto Chorrillos located at 4560 m.a.s.l.

Stop At: Tolar Grande, Tolar Grande, Province of Salta, Northern Argentina
From this moment on, we will begin the descent crossing the immensity of the Puna framed with salt flats and volcanoes to reach the most spectacular part of the first day: The colourful Devil's Desert, where the shapes of the mountains and the play of light and shadow projected by the sun will delight you. In the afternoon, we will finally arrive in the town of Tolar Grande. The village of Tolar Grande is located at 3520 m.a.s.l and has approximately 400 inhabitants. You will have time at leisure to wander around this mythical town to then have dinner in a local dining room.

Day 3: Visit to Ojos de Mar, Salt Flats and Cono de Arita

After breakfast, we will depart towards the amazing springs of freshwater called Ojos de Mar (Sea Eyes).

Stop At: Ojo de Mar, A 5 Km de Tolar Grande, Tolar Grande 4413 Argentina
Ojos de Mar is a unique place not only because of its beauty but also for the elements contributed to science for a better understanding of the beginning of life on Earth: Researchers have found in this place prehistoric microorganisms. Admire the amazing landscapes all along the way and the impressive views of the seven volcanoes in the Western Andes Mountain Range.

Stop At: Salar de Arizaro, Salta Province, Argentina
We will return to the village for lunch before heading to the Arizaro Salt Flat, considered the largest in Argentina and the third in America. We will have about 1 hour by car through the salt flat, with photo stops before reaching the vicinity of the Cono de Arita (subject to the state of the road), an interesting formation that looks like a volcano that is found in the middle of this immense salt flat. At sunset, we will make the entrance again to Tolar Grande for dinner. We recommend looking at the sky! At night, Tolar Grande has an amazing sky to see the stars.

Day 4: Full-Day tour from El Tolar to Purmamarca

Stop At: Tolar Grande, Tolar Grande, Province of Salta, Northern Argentina
After breakfast, we will depart to leave Tolar Grande behind and continue our journey travelling South.

Pass By: Viaducto de la polvorilla, Acceso desde ruta 40, San Antonio de los Cobres Argentina
On the way, we will make a stop at Viaducto de la Polvorilla, the most famous bridge of the area and one of the most iconic landmarks of Andean landscapes and culture.

Pass By: Salinas Grandes, 4600 Argentina
We will visit Salinas Grandes, the 3rd largest salt flat in the world, stretching over Salta and Jujuy in northwest Argentina.


Pass By: Purmamarca, Purmamarca, Province of Jujuy, Northern Argentina
On the way, we will pass through the fantastic slope of Lipan to finally arrive at Purmamarca and then we will descend to the fantastic slope of Lipan. Arrival in the afternoon, time at leisure to discover this picturesque village located at the base of Jujuyโ€™s famed Seven Color Hill. Walk around the main square and get closer to the daily life of the native communities, you can visit the Craft Market and then find a cosy local restaurant to have dinner.

Day 5: From Purmamarca to Humahuaca and Salta

Stop At: Quebrada de Humahuaca, Rio Grande Purmamarca Village, Humahuaca Argentina
Weโ€™ll pick you up early in the morning and take you on a 12-hour adventure to the Humahuaca Gorge, declared a UNESCO Heritage Site. Humahuaca Gorge is home to a bunch of natural amazing monuments like the Seven Color Hill, the Pucarรก de Tilcara (a ramshackled yet well restored native fortress), the Paleta del Pintor (Painter Palette) at Maimarรก village, an impressive multi-colored mountain range. Youโ€™ll see some peculiar paintings of the colonial period (called Pinturas Cuzqueรฑas) at the little Uquรญa Church, and finally, pass by the famous Tropic of Capricorn milestone to reach the picturesque Humahuaca. Wander among their traditional houses and streets, and get a feel for the old-world languor that still survives in this setting. At the end of the day, weโ€™ll drive you back to your hotel in Salta La Linda (the beautiful) as Argentines nicknamed the city.
