Day 2: Li River - Yangshuo - Impression Liu Sanjie

The Li River cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo is the centerpiece of any trip to northeastern Guangxi Province. Gorgeous Karst peaks give you surprises at each bend of the limpid river under the blue sky. Water buffalo patrol the fields, peasants reap rice paddies, school kids and fisherman float by on bamboo rafts. With its breathtaking scenery and taste of a life far removed from the concrete metropolis, the scenery along the river become one of China's top tourist destinations.

All tourists taking a Li River cruise are required to show passports when booking ship tickets and boarding. They need to get to the wharf at least 30 minutes before departure to leave enough time for passport inspection.

Impression Sanjie Liu is the world largest natural theater which utilizes the waters of the Li River as its stage, with twelve mist shrouded hills and the heavens as its backdrop. Mist, rain, moonlight, the hills and their inverted reflections in the river all become the ever-changing natural background. Its auditorium is housed on the natural islands of the river with the audience standing on the designed terraces, surrounded by green plants. The sound equipment here cannot be seen because it is in harmony with the natural environment.

In the 'Impression Sanjie Liu', what you can see are the impressions derived from the daily life of the people living around the Li River, rather than the specific details of the stories. From these impressions, you will gain a realistic impression on the background of Sanjie's birthplace and understand the beauty of the folk songs' hometown.

Day 3: Yangshuo countryside - free exploration

Explore the Yangshuo’s countryside by bike.

Narrow single-lane trails lead you to secluded villages and boundless fields, where you can see villages big and small and old brick houses, and you will pass by locals waving hello to you.

Afternoon, you can free exploration in Yangshuo.

Day 4: Yangshuo - Longsheng

Pass By: Yangshuo County, Guilin, Guangxi, China
After breakfast, we will transfer to Longsheng County, it usually takes about 3 to 4 hours on the mountain road.

Stop At: Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces, 80 kilometers from Guilin, Longsheng County 541701 China
A vast region of rice terraces stretches layer upon layer, coiling around from the base of Longji (the dragon's backbone) Mountain to its summit. This is the most amazing terrace in China, the Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces. The Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces are the culmination of both the profound wisdom and strenuous labor of the Zhuang people.

After arriving at longsheng, we will have lunch first, then transfer to the hotel and check in. Afterwards, we will visit the No.1 and No.2 viewing platforms.

Day 5: Longsheng - Guilin - free exploration

Stop At: Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces, 80 kilometers from Guilin, Longsheng County 541701 China
The Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces is a beautiful natural picture. The linked together rice terraces vary from season to season. In spring, the water is irrigated into the fields and they look like great chains or ribbons hung on the hillsides. When the onset of summer, green waves rush continuously down the mountainside from the heaven. The theme of autumn is the harvest, with the mountainside decorated with the gold of ripened millet. Coming into winter, the whole mountain will be covered with white snow, just like dragons playing with water.

As well as its amazing scenery, Longji is also the area to visit to experience Chinas ethnic minorities' culture. The Zhuang and the Yao nationalities live here, though mainly it is the Zhuang people. The women dress in unique and colorful costumes, singing and dancing. Guests also can join in with them to enjoy the original Zhuang life and culture, and even stay with local families enjoying both the Longji tea and the Longji wine.

Appreciate the sunrise at the No.1 viewing platform. After breakfast, walk to Ping’an Zhuang Village Terraces for a visit.
