      Today, our journey commences as we depart from Pokhara in the comfort of a private vehicle. Following a two-hour scenic drive, we find ourselves in the charming village of Birethanti (1,039 m/3,409 ft). After a couple of hours of invigorating hiking, our path leads us to Hile (1,495 m/4,905 ft), a sizable village replete with numerous shops and welcoming teahouses.


      The trail then takes us onward, winding through the village and tracing the northern banks of the Bhurungdi Khola. Initially, the route descends slightly as we continue our sojourn from Hile. However, soon thereafter, we encounter a formidable uphill climb that will demand our perseverance, ultimately leading us to the village of Ulleri.

      Continuing our journey, we progress towards the challenging ascent to Ulleri, a substantial Magar village nestled at an elevation of 2,070 m (6,791 ft). From this point, the trail takes a more gradual incline, guiding us through enchanting forests adorned with oak and rhododendron trees. Our path then leads us to Banthanti, situated at 2,250 m (7,382 ft), and further along to Nangethanti at 2,460 m (8,071 ft). After an additional hour of trekking, we finally reach our destination for the day, Ghorepani, perched at an elevation of 2,810 m (9,219 ft).

      Today, we are setting out on an exciting early morning adventure. Our goal is to reach the summit of Poon Hill, which stands at an impressive altitude of 3,210 meters (10,531 feet). To achieve this, we will embark on a one-hour hike. This famous viewpoint offers a stunning mountain panorama, allowing you to witness a clear and uninterrupted view of the sunrise illuminating the majestic Himalayan peaks with vibrant colors.


      After relishing in the awe-inspiring spectacle for about an hour, we make our way back to Ghorepani to enjoy a satisfying hot breakfast. After enjoying our breakfast, we embarked on our journey along the ridges, navigating through the delightful scent of pine and the colorful rhododendron forests. Our destination was Deurali, situated at an elevation of 2,960 meters (9,711 feet). From there, our trail descends to Banthanti before we take a different path and make our way towards Tadapani, which is our next destination.

      .Leaving Tadapani behind, our path guides us on a descent through lush forests until we reach Ghandruk, a charming village inhabited by the Gurung people, one of Nepalโ€™s diverse ethnic groups. The Gurung community boasts its unique dialect, cultural traditions, distinctive attire, and a way of life deeply rooted in the Himalayan landscape.


      Notably, Ghandruk holds a special distinction as a residence for many Gurkha soldiers, known for their valor and service. The village is a renowned destination among trekkers, beckoning with its captivating mountain vistas. Furthermore, its accessibility from Pokhara and Kathmandu makes it a favored stop for travelers seeking the best of both worlds.


      During the afternoon, we have the opportunity to explore the village, visiting the Annapurna Conservation Office and museums. This cultural immersion allows us to gain a deeper appreciation for the local way of life and the rich heritage of the Gurung people.

  • Day 5 Trek To Nayapul And Drive Back To Pokhara

      As we enjoy our last breakfast in the mountains, we are grateful for the breathtaking sight of Annapurna South and the iconic Fishtail Peak. We are now getting ready to begin the downhill portion of our journey, which will eventually lead us to Nayapul, marking the end of our trek. Todayโ€™s trail mainly descends, offering a unique perspective of the landscape.


      We will begin our journey by heading towards the largest Gurung village in the Annapurna region. This village is known for its exceptional charm and cultural significance. After enjoying a fulfilling breakfast, we embark on a straightforward and enjoyable descent towards Nayapul. This leg of our journey typically takes around 2-3 hours.


      After reaching Nayapul, we drive back to Pokhara. In Pokhara, you will have the opportunity to enjoy some leisure time shopping and explore the captivating city of Pokhara. This city is renowned for its unique charm and vibrant atmosphere, making it an ideal destination for exploration.
