Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Sunset Mokoro Safari

Stop At: Moremi Game Reserve, Moremi Game Reserve, Okavango Delta, North-West District
You will be picked up at Maun airport where you will meet your ranger and guide before leaving on your 20-minute drive to your tented lodge situated on the banks of the Boteti River. After a brief check-in upon arriving at the lodge, you will be explained your safari activities over a refreshing complimentary drink.
Depending on your time of arrival, you will have some time for a quick lunch or dip in the pool while exploring the lodge’s natural surroundings before you will leave on an amazing 2-hour sunset Mokoro safari on the Boteti River.
You will have the chance to spot some wildlife with hippos and crocodiles right at the river’s edge while witnessing some of the most amazing birdlife. Your experienced mokoro guide will point out several interesting aspects of the river and its wildlife during your mokoro trip, before stopping on one of the banks for a small refreshment while enjoying the magnificent sunset.
After your mokoro experience, you will have some time to freshen up and then join us around the open fire. You can take in the magnificent scenery around you while enjoying a delicious and traditionally prepared meal and glass of wine, while listening to the calls of the night.
You will overnight in a luxury safari tent.

Day 2: Full Day Mokoro Safari – Okavango Delta

Stop At: Moremi Game Reserve, Moremi Game Reserve, Okavango Delta, North-West District
Wake up just after sunrise, with the crisp morning air filling your lungs. A fresh cup of coffee/tea and homemade biscuits await at the main deck area for your to enjoy. A delicious packed breakfast will be supplied, as you will have an early morning departure on your full day mokoro safari in the Okavango Delta.
Your Mokoro safari will begin as you head out into the many reed channels of the Okavango Delta. Your guide will already have an update of any exciting or special sightings in the area. Most guide are from the Bayei tribal people who many believe to be the first inhabitants of the Okavango Delta, “people of the Delta” so to speak. You will learn about all aspects of this magical inland oasis from the tiniest of creatures, beautiful reed frogs and big 5 mammal species along the water edge. Your guide will also interpret nature to you in a unique manner and show you traditional and medicinal uses of wild plants in the Delta.

A stop will be made on one of the many islands to enjoy your packed lunch before heading on a nature walk to discover more of this abundant ecosystem. After some relaxing time, you will continue your adventure exploring more of these unlimited channels and choosing to stop at any other islands as you may please. Returning at 16:00pm.
After returning to the lodge, you will have some time to freshen up where after you will leave on a 2-hour sunset Mokoro safari (entirely optional) or you can decide to take in the marvellous sunset overlooking the Boteti River from our deck.
Dinner will be served under the stars in the open Boma.

Day 3: Full Day Game Drive in Moremi / Khwai Reserves

Stop At: Khwai, Khwai, North-West District
Wake up just after sunrise, with the crisp morning air filling your lungs. A fresh cup of coffee/tea and homemade biscuits await at the main deck area for your to enjoy. A delicious packed breakfast will be supplied, as you will have an early morning departure on your full day safari game game in Moremi / Khwai Reserves.
Moremi is the home to nearly 500 species of bird (from water birds to forest dwellers), and a vast array of other species of wildlife, including buffalo, giraffe, lion, leopard, cheetah, hyaena, jackal, impala, and red lechwe and African Wild dog.
Experience this in an open game vehicle specially converted, allowing one to absorb and experience sightings with all of your senses when up and close to wildlife. Your experienced game ranger will teach you about all aspects of nature and interpret wildlife behaviour to you in a unique way. He will also receive updates from other rangers in the area determining animal movements.
A packed lunch will be served in style by your guide at one of the beautiful rest camps along the way.
You should return to the lodge by about 16:00pm. Return time could be delayed depending on the roads, time of year and sightings.
After returning to the lodge, you will have some time to freshen up where after you will leave on a 2-hour sunset Mokoro safari (entirely optional), or you can decide to take in the marvellous sunset overlooking the Boteti River from our deck.
Dinner will be served under the stars in the open Boma.

Day 4: Scenic Flight over Okavango Delta & Sunset Mokoro Safari

Stop At: Okavango Delta, Okavango Delta, North-West District
The sounds of the bush will wake you up on this beautiful morning. A delicious breakfast and freshly brewed coffee will be served. (different dietary requirements are catered for)
Today you will enjoy a scenic fight over the Okavango Delta. This is one amazing experience!
The Okavango Delta is a vast inland river delta in Northern Botswana, known for its sprawling grassy plains, which flood seasonally, turning the land into a lush animal habitat.
Your flight departs from Maun Airport. Once in the air, you will take in views of the beautiful channels that meander through the papyrus-fringed waterways, passing palm-covered islands. Gear up for high chances of heart-stopping excitement and big game viewing. Observe how the channels wander through the delta in ever-changing paths as this dynamic water system evolves. The vastness of this pristine wilderness is absolutely breathtaking.
Sightseeing from a small plane on a scenic flight will give you the ultimate view of the Okavango Delta’s spectacular geography and wildlife. There is no better way to grasp the outstanding beauty of the Okavango Delta region. Once the flight is complete, the plane will land at Maun Airport where the activity started.

Picnic snacks and refreshments are included and will be served once you “hit the ground”.
After returning from your scenic flight, you will have some time to freshen up where after you will leave on a 2 hour sunset Mokoro safari and experience a true African sunset.
Upon return, you will have some free time before joining us for dinner, taking in the last evening on tour with the sounds of Africa in the background.

Day 5: Morning Relaxation and Departure

Stop At: Moremi Game Reserve, Moremi Game Reserve, Okavango Delta, North-West District
Enjoy a scrumptious breakfast in a more relaxed fashion this morning, taking in the breathtaking surroundings one last time before you prepare for checkout and transfer to Maun. The friendly lodge staff will bid you farewell before a transfer back to Maun airport or your choice of drop off point within Maun. This is the end of your tour.
