Itinerary of your trip 4-Day Tarangire, Manyara, Ngorongoro & Materuni Safari

  • Day 1 Kilimanjaro Airport- Tarangire National Park
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Kilimanjaro Airport- Tarangire National Park

      Early in the morning, the guide will pick you up from Kilimanjaro airport or your hotel and drive you to the famous Tarangire National Park. The park is made up of seasonal marshes, and bush savannah, with baobab trees. This national park is one of the best places in the whole of East Africa since you get to watch the elephants up close. There are over 4000 animals and these include; Maasai giraffes, antelopes, buffalos, leopards, lions, baboons, and many more bird species. In the afternoon, you will have a lunch break at a picnic scenic picnic spot. Post lunch, we will continue with game drives. Post the game drive, you will head back to your lodge where a delicious dinner awaits you.

  • Day 2 Karatu - Ngorongoro Crater

      Karatu - Ngorongoro Crater

      On the second day of your safari, you will have an early start. Finishing up with a quick breakfast you will make an early descent at around 6:30 AM into the crater floor. The Ngorongoro Crater is the worldโ€™s largest inactive, intact, and unfilled volcanic caldera. The 6-hour game drive on the crater floor will show you a lot of animal action. Keeping the camera ready is definitely recommended. The African elephant, buffalo, Black rhino, Hippos, Hyenas, Cheetahs, and Lions are found in plenty. Post the picnic lunch at the beautiful Hippo pool, you will begin a steep ascend to the top exit of the crater. Post the game drive, you will head back to your lodge where a delicious dinner awaits you.

  • Day 3 Lake Manyara - Arusha

      Lake Manyara - Arusha

      Eat your breakfast and get ready by around 8:30 AM. Depart to Lake Manyara National Park with a picnic lunch for a full-day game drive. As you enter the national park, lush forests of Acacia and Mahogany trees begin to set the mood for what is waiting ahead. The game drive will go on till afternoon with a small break for a picnic lunch. During the game drive watch out for buffaloes, giraffes, impalas, baboons, and the blue monkeys. Another spectacle of Lake Manyara National Park is the tree-climbing lions, however spotting them is a game of luck. In the right season, you can see the shoreline turning pink with millions of flamingos flocking there. After the game drive leave the park and head to your accommodation in Arusha, the day will come to a close. Freshly made delicious dinner will be ready for you at your accommodation.

  • Day 4 Materuni Falls, Chagga Tribe And Coffee Plantation Tour- Arusha

      Materuni Falls, Chagga Tribe And Coffee Plantation Tour- Arusha

      After breakfast, around 8:00 AM we start the 2-hour drive to Materuni which is located under the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. Upon arrival, you will do a 35-minute hike to the waterfalls. If the weather is clear, you might get decent views of Mt Kilimanjaro that day. Make sure to wear good boots as the trail can be often muddy. The pool at the bottom of the waterfall is a good place for a refreshing swim after the hike so donโ€™t forget your swimwear! After having enjoyed the scenery, you will slowly return with your guide to Materuni village where you will experience a traditional Chagga lunch. You also will have the opportunity to taste the local banana beer which is not to be missed!

      Next, the coffee experience awaits you. Here you will learn how coffee is cultivated, dried, roasted, and further processed. You will also be invited to help with the grinding of the coffee, which is traditionally accompanied by Chagga songs and dances - a fun way to immerse yourself in the local culture.
