It is bustling with activity, and people from the Solukhumbu region come together there to conduct business. Most trekkers prefer getting up before dawn to take in the breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, and other majestic peaks in Sagarmatha National Park. One can see the shadow of the mountains being pan-projected onto the clouds above and truly appreciate their size.

Try salt-butter tea and champa, a kind of barley that is popular among the Sherpas in the area, as a source of energy. The lively cultural Saturday market is worth a visit, and itโ€™s usually packed with traders desperate to sell what they have to offer.
