Tokyo Skytree is also home to a massive shopping complex and an impressive aquarium, both located in its base.

The spacious shrine grounds offer walking paths that are great for a relaxing stroll.

      Shibuya Crossing is a must-visit for any trip to Tokyo. This sprawling intersection just outside Shibuya Station is covered with lights and massive billboards, a national symbol of Tokyo, and the sight of watching 1,000 people cross at a time makes it a one-of-a-kind experience. The nearby Shibuya Center Gai which is home to hundreds of shops, bars and restaurants, some which give you access to a stunning view of the crossing from up high.

Japanโ€™s largest Chinatown, a large number of Chinese stores and restaurants can be found in the narrow and colorful streets of Chinatown. Various events and festivals such as Chinese New Year around the beginning of February are also held at Chinatown.

      Next, youโ€™ll visit the Cup Noodles Museum, which is designed to stir the creativity and curiosity within every child and provide a rich educational experience. Through the museumโ€™s many exhibits, youโ€™ll learn about this beloved meal and about Momofuku Ando, the founder of Nissin Food Products and inventor of instant Ramen.


      Completing the day, youโ€™ll check out the mighty Odawara Castle. Built in the mid-15th century and known as a major base for one of the most powerful clans during the Warring States Era, it has been rebuilt and stands tall as the most prominent castle near the Tokyo area and a majestic feat of traditional Japanese architecture.

      Today youโ€™ll visit the stunning Higashi Honganji Temple. An incredible feat of traditional Japanese architecture, it was built in 1602 and located near Nishi Honganji Temple. These two enormous temples once formed a united complex before being separated during feudal times due to concerns over political influence. Higashi Honganji continues to invite visitors from all over the globe and maintains a significant role within Japanโ€™s religious landscape as the head temple of the Otani faction of Jodo-shin Buddhism, and houses the Goeido: one of the worldโ€™s largest wooden structures, and the nearby Amidado Hall.

      Next, youโ€™ll visit Sanjusangendo which is the popular name for Rengeo-in, a temple in eastern Kyoto which is famous for its 1001 statues of Kannon, the goddess of mercy of Japanese Buddhism. It is also home to a wooden statue of a 1000-armed Kannon (Senju Kannon) which is flanked on each side by 500 statues of human sized 1000-armed Kannon standing in ten rows.

      Then, youโ€™ll experience the grand Nishiki Market: a narrow, five block long shopping street lined by more than one hundred shops and restaurants. Known as "Kyotoโ€™s Kitchen", this lively market specializes in fresh seafood, produce, knives and cookware, and is a great place to find plenty of Kyoto specialties such as Japanese sweets, pickles, dried seafood and sushi.

      Today youโ€™ll visit the Fushimi Inari Shrine, which is an important Shinto shrine in southern Kyoto. It is famous for its thousands of vermilion torii gates, which straddle a network of trails behind its main buildings. The trails lead into the wooded forest of the sacred, 233-meter-tall Mount Inari.

      Ujigami Shrine is believed to be the oldest standing shrine in Japan. Although there is no official record of when it was first constructed, experts estimate that Ujigami Shrine was well established by 1060. It was closely linked to Byodoin Temple as its "guardian shrine". Uji is famous for its green tea.  While Kozanji Temple in Kyoto is believed to be the original site of tea cultivation in Japan, Ujiโ€™s tea became better known for its superior quality in the 1100s.

      Then, weโ€™ll take you down to the town of Uji, famous for its high-quality macha tea and the earliest place where green tea was first cultivated in Japan. Weโ€™ll take you down to Byodoin Omotesando, a street that is packed with tea and dessert shops filled with treats made out of Ujiโ€™s matcha.

      There is a Street full of matcha, and you can shop here for souvenirs.Look on the front of a Japanese 10 yen coin and youโ€™ll see Byodoin Templeโ€™s famous Hou-ou-do Hall, also known as Amida Hall or Phoenix Hall. This building is one of the countryโ€™s most well-known examples of Buddhist architecture and the only original structure of the Byodoin Temple complex that remains today.
