Day 1: ARRIVAL EVENES - SVOLVÆR

Stop At: Thon Hotel Lofoten, Torget, 8300 Svolvær, Norway
Upon arrival at Harstad/Narvik airport in Evenes by flight (excluded), you can take the shuttle bus from the airport to Fast Hotel Svolvær by showing the tickets provided by us. The driving time is about 2.5 hours. There is 1 minute’ walking distance from Fast Hotel Svolvær to Thon Hotel Lofoten.

At 21:00, if the weather permits, we will start an Aurora hunt to the picturesque village of Kabelvåg.

Day 2: SVOLVÆR - HENNINGSVÆR - STAMSUND

Stop At: Svolvaer, Svolvaer, Vagan, Lofoten Islands, Nordland, Northern Norway
We will explore Svolvær by a walk through the compact town centre to reach the main square.

Or you can join 2 hours optional tour Sea Eagle Safari for EUR 90/person. Join us on a safe and fun RIB boat experience depart at 10.30 am. You get the chance to meet sea eagles and experience some of the most scenic landscapes in Lofoten. You will have plenty of chances to capture pictures of white-tailed eagles, when they circle a few meters above your head. Included: Thermal suit, safety vest, goggles, cap and gloves

The entrance, a narrow waterside road with small picturesque bridges that clings to the base of the mountain, making the drive to Henningsvær an absolute treat for your senses.

Day 3: GIMSØYSAND - NUSFJORD

One of the smallest villages of the Lofoten islands. Nusfjord is a hidden treasure. Its traditional fishing huts hug its tiny tucked away harbour. Here it is possible to go for a walk, visit the local store, the cosy coffee shop and get a taste of the essence of Lofoten.

Day 4: REINE - SAKRISØY - HAMNØY - EMBARKATION

Today, you will embark on the boat in the afternoon. Before embarkation, you will choose either visit Bunes Beach by zodic cruise or hiking Ryten viewpoint. (You will not be able to participate both activity at the same time)



Stop At: Bunes Beach, Moskenesoya, Reine, Moskenes Municipality Norway
If the weather permits, we will start a zodiac cruise in Reine. We will land in Vindstad and start a hike to the hidden pearl “Bunes beach”, accessible only by boat. The alternative route will be a zodiac cruise to the Kirkfjorden.

★ Bunes Beach: With its vast expanses of white sand and imposing mountains, Bunes is one of Lofoten’s most scenic and isolated beaches. After hiking through a small and cosy little village. A nice and easy trail leads us over to the beautiful Bunes beach with its white sands and turquoise water.

Stop At: Ryten, Fredvang, Flakstad Municipality 8387 Norway
★ Hiking Ryten viewpoint: The hike to Ryten is a beautiful trail that overlooks the whole Fredvang area and Kvalvika Beach. By Lofoten standards, it is a relatively easy hike, which is less steep and less strenuous. It is possible to do the hike in winter, if the weather permits and with snowshoes.

We will provide snowshoes and a hiking guide. Hike up Ryten mountain to views of Kvalvika Beach, surrounding peaks, and the gorgeous fjords all around you.

Enjoy the beauty of Hamnøy, characterized by its small port, the famous red cabins, the mountains which surround this little jewel located on the island of Moskensøy.

Evening embarkation on the pier. Welcome, safety briefings and buffet dinner on board.

Around 21:00, we will embark on the pier and transfer to Hamnøy bridge photo spot viewpoint which is only need five minutes’ driving. If we are lucky enough, we may be able to get the memorable photos of northern lights. (30min)

Day 5: TROLLFJORD – SKROVA

Stop At: Trollfjorden, Norway
In the morning, you will find yourself in the Vestfjord. The ship will rig the sails for a magnificent sunrise. As the ship sails through a narrow passage with steep rocks on both sides, forming wall like structures, we will watch for sea and white-headed eagles soaring with us. The is one of the most beautiful and impressive fjords of the Lofoten and offers an experience you will dream of! A Zodiac Excursion will be planned in the majestic Trollfjord.

Stop At: Skrova, Skrova, Vagan, Lofoten Islands, Nordland, Northern Norway
In the afternoon, the ship will dock in Skrova where a short hike will be arranged to visit a photograph exhibition titled “Tunnelsyn” (Tunnel Vision) inside a tunnel where there is a collection of historical photographs from this island.

With its population of around 230, Skrova has been a centre for fisheries and whaling for many decades. This authentic fishing village offers visitors the chance to relax in peaceful surroundings. With its wonderful sandy beaches this island is a pearl in the Vestfjord and is also known for the best views of the Lofoten islands.

If the weather permits, a landing by Zodiac at the Remøya beach will be arranged, where you will face the beautiful Litlmolla (Lille Molla), an uninhabited island with the highest point at 543 metre, also known as the “Vestrahorn” of Lofoten islands.

Day 6: ANDØRJA -– SKROLSVIK – SENJA

Stop At: Engenes, Norway
In the morning, we will visit a local salmon farm with a history of five generations. A guided tour and salmon tasting will be arranged at the salmon farming site.

★ Salmon Farm visit and salmon tasting: Going out to the cage of salmon on a RIB boat to experience how the salmon is grown and taste the local salmon in four ways: the fresh salmon, smoked salmon, Sashimi and Fermented salmon

Stop At: Senja, Senja, Troms, Northern Norway
After lunch, the ship dock in the island of Senja. The island of Senja is the second largest island in Norway, often referred to as “Norway in miniature”. Led by the expedition guide, you will explore the arctic town – Skrolsvik along the nature trails with snowshoes on. You will visit a 130-year-old general store that has been functioned as an office for the lcoal fish factory and shipping company. Today’s furnishing are the originals from 1925 and it is now a combination of museum, souvenir shop and a cafe. This small fishing community has a strong tradition in halibut fishing, and the area is known for its abundant halibut stocks. This is the place to experience authentic coastal heritage. We’ll provide you with MSR lightweight snowshoes that easily attach to rubber boots or sturdy hiking boots

After dinner, our knowledgeable guide will conduct a lecture on board which covers topics such as Aurora Borealis, wildlife, nature and history.

Day 7: DISEMBARKATION - TROMSØ

Stop At: Tromso, Tromso, Troms, Northern Norway
After spending the last night on board, we disembark Tromsø in the morning. We will have a city tour in Tromsø. The colourful, wooden houses, the distinct looking arctic Cathedral, hospitable people, thought-provoking culture and arctic cuisine the surrounding wind-swept islands, sheltered fiords and majestic 1800 metres high Lyngen alps are all a mere 2000 kilometres away from the north pole.

We will start a king crab fishing tour followed by a king crab meal. Once we arrive to our crab pod locations, our experienced fishing guide will pull up crab pods in front of you with King Crabs, that will be prepared and served directly on the boat, directly from water to table in less than 1 hour. The dining will be conducted in the boat’s salon, on tables so that you can comfortably enjoy this delicacy. The King Crab will be served alongside artisan bread, butter, lemon, sauce, rice and salad.

After the tour we will transfer to Malangen, the cosy apartments feature has a waterfront balcony

Day 8: DEPARTURE – TROMSØ - LONGYEARBYEN

Stop At: Tromso, Tromso, Troms, Northern Norway
After a memorable adventure in the Arctic circle, you will be transferred to Tromsø airport and fly to Longyearbyen (flight excluded).
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Longyearbyen, Longyearbyen, Spitsbergen, Svalbard
Upon arrival at Longyearbyen airport by flight (excluded), take the shuttle bus (bus fare included) to the hotel. At 16:00, you will meet the sightseeing shuttle bus (fare included) at the hotel which will bring you drive around in Longyearbyen. The bus will drive up to the famous “Polar Bear” sign, then continue Adventdalen and stop for photography. In the valley, there are often Svalbard reindeer, wildlife seabirds and arctic foxes.

Then we continue to the Eiscat radar and stop at the viewpoint for photography. The tour ends on Svalbard church and then we transfer to the hotels.

A 30 km long valley on the island of Spitsbergen, following the Adventdalselva River and ending in Longyearbyen. The valley flows into Adventfjorden and Isfjorden.

Stop At: EISCAT Svalbard Radar, Gruve 7-fjellet, Longyearbyen, Svalbard and Jan Mayen
ESR (EISCAT Svalbard Radar) is the youngest of EISCAT’s research facilities. The location, high above the arctic circle and near the north pole. We will stop at the viewpoint for photography. At this stop you can see the whole valley and across the fjord to the glaciers at the other side.

Stop At: Camp Barentz, Svalbard and Jan Mayen
Experience the magic out in the wilderness at 78 degrees north! The Northern Lights evening in Camp Barentz is a very special experience that you should experience during your stay on Svalbard. We leave the city and drive into Adventdalen. The mountains on each side tower over us like giants, barely visible in the dark polar night - or perhaps bathed in moonlight and northern lights? Camp Barentz has a fantastic location just below Mine 7, at the foot of Mount Breinos. Barentz's house is a copy of the cabin that Svalbard's discover Willem Barentz overwintered in on Novaya Semlya in 1596. Here there is little light pollution and you have perfect conditions for hunting for the northern lights. From Camp Barentz you can experience reindeer, grouse and foxes up close if you are lucky. And we are on guard in case a polar bear should approach. You will be served something good to drink, delicious and homemade reindeer stew, campfire coffee and dessert. This is a real Svalbard meal!

Day 9: ICE CAVE TOUR AND SVALBARD MUSEUM

Stop At: Longyearbyen, Longyearbyen, Spitsbergen, Svalbard
3 hours Ice cave tour by snowmobiles
During the first part of the trip, we will drive snowmobiles (6 km) to approach the glacier until we reach the entrance to the ice cave. Then, we will proceed by foot for ~1 hour.
The cave is formed by melt-water channels that shape the ice during the summer and are frozen dry during the winter. We enter the glacier through a small tunnel-like passage at the surface.
Beneath the surface, we explore a labyrinth of ice with numerous glacial formations. The ice cave is entirely natural and preserves intricate patterns in the ice.
The temperature inside the Glacier is approximately -3 °C and the terrain can be challenging at times.
The contrast between the white the snow and the endless blue shades in the ice is astonishing.

We provide the entrance of the Svalbard Museum, you can walk to the Svalbard Museum within walking distance after lunch. Svalbard Museum is a museum of natural and cultural history. Their ambition is to provide broad and comprehensive knowledge of history and nature in the Arctic. Svalbard Museum presents a modern exhibition in a traditional form, with models, reconstructed environment and authentic artifacts

Day 10: DOG SLEDDING & COAL MINE NO. 3

Stop At: Bolterdalen, Svalbard and Jan Mayen
In the morning, we will take you to experience the dogsledding safari in Bolterdalen. We will go to the kennel. Here you’ll be dressed up with a suit, boots, hat & mittens. Then you will meet the dogs and your guide will give you a thorough briefing about dogsledding, before we start putting harnesses on the dogs. At this point there will be plenty of activity in the kennel as all of the dogs will want to come on the trip. You may take part in the harnessing of the dogs if you want to.
In pairs, you will take turns mushing (driving a dog sledge team) a team of 5-6 dogs.
You will experience the dynamics of the dog-sledge team and will most likely be surprised to see that dogs as tough as these can be so kind and adoring. This trip does not require any experience with dogsledding
The trip goes through beautiful Bolterdalen, which offers unique arctic scenery and good chances of observing arctic wildlife, such as reindeer and ptarmigan.

Stop At: Coal Mine 3, Longyearbyen 9170 Norway
Up at Coal Mine 3 you will walk through the facilities where the machinery and equipment were left behind when production was stopped in 1996. Each of you will be kitted with a “lomp” (miner’s coverall), helmet, and headlamp, ready to begin your mining adventure. During the tour you are given the chance to crawl on the very low working height the miner’s experienced on a daily basis. Because of the incredibly low mining shafts, old-fashioned methods were therefore applied to extract the coal from the mountain.
The tour culminates by walking into a main tunnel that was excavated in the 1970s. On our way in we will make a few stops into two of the side tunnels. Here we can see the entrance to the old seed bank on Svalbard as well as the Arctic World Archive.
We promise an exciting tour which will give you a taste of the old days in Longyearbyen as well as an insight into the future of coal mining on Svalbard and for the Norwegian coal company, Store Norske Spitsbergen Kulkompani.

Day 11: DEPARTURE
