      After breakfast, depart for a sightseeing tour of Accra, the Capital of Ghana. Experience the cityโ€™s highlights during this Accra orientation. The capital of Ghana since 1877, Accra is also the capital of the Greater Accra Region. In addition, itโ€™s the countryโ€™s most populous city. Travel through the administrative and economic districts of Accra. Also, see the Artiste Alliance Gallery, the W.E.B. Du Bois Center for Pan African Culture and the Independence/Black Star Square. Learn about important events in Ghanaโ€™s history and the countryโ€™s first president who helped lead Ghana to independence. 

      Continue your tour to The Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, dedicated to the legacy of Ghanaโ€™s first President, Kwame Nkrumah, and his role in African independence. The tour includes visits to Nkrumahโ€™s mausoleum, a museum showcasing his life, his personal residence, the eternal Flame of African Liberation, and beautifully landscaped gardens. Learn about Nkrumahโ€™s early life, political career, and Pan-African vision. End the dayโ€™s tour at the Arts Center, where participants can sharpen their bargaining skills to shop for goods from Ghana and West Africa in an open-air market. On display, you will see fabrics of different materials, designs, colors and textures to purchase from. 

  • Day 3 Accra โ€“ Wli Waterfalls And Afadjato

      After breakfast, check out of your hotel and depart for Volta Region. Embark on a tour to the awe-inspiring Wli Waterfalls and conquer the magnificent Mountain Afadja. Embark on a scenic hike through the Agumatsa Wildlife Sanctuary to reach the Lower Wli Waterfalls. Follow the well-marked trail, surrounded by lush greenery and diverse flora and fauna. Your knowledgeable guide will share interesting information about the local ecosystem along the way. After approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, youโ€™ll be re warded with the breathtaking sight of the 60-meter (197-foot) cascade of the Lower Wli Waterfalls. Take in the sheer power and beauty of the falls, and if youโ€™re feeling adventurous, dip your feet into the cool pools below.

      After lunch on your own, continue your journey to Mountain Afadja, situated near Liati Wote and Gbledi. With a local guide leading the way, embark on a trek to the summit of the highest peak in Ghana. The trek takes approximately 1-2 hours, depending on your fitness level and pace. As you ascend, immerse yourself in the stunning landscapes of verdant forests and enjoy occasional glimpses of nearby villages. Upon reaching the summit, standing at an impressive 885 meters (2,904 feet), marvel at the sweeping panoramic views that stretch as far as the eye can see. Capture photos of the breathtaking scenery and take a moment to appreciate the grandeur of nature.

      After breakfast, begin your day with an exciting trip to Mount Gemi, where you can hike to the top and enjoy amazing views of the lush, green Volta Region. As you reach the summit, marvel at the iconic cross standing tall and soak in the fresh mountain air. Take your time to explore the peaceful surroundings and perhaps snap some photos of the stunning landscape. Next, visit the charming village of Amedzofe, one of the highest places in Ghana. Stroll through the villageโ€™s winding paths, where youโ€™ll be greeted by friendly locals eager to share their stories. Discover the rich history and unique culture of the Ewe people, and donโ€™t miss the chance to visit local landmarks. 

      After lunch on your own, visit the Ote Waterfalls. A beautiful place where water falls from a high cliff into a clear pool below. Surrounded by green trees and plants, it is a peaceful spot perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature. You can walk along easy trails, have a picnic, or take photos of the stunning scenery.

      After breakfast, check out of your hotel and drive to Boti Waterfalls. a twin waterfall located at Boti in Manya Krobo in the Eastern Region of Ghana. These twin falls are referred to as female and male. End your tour at the Umbrella Rock, as the name means, is a rock found at the site of the Boti Falls in Yilo Krobo District. Its size is well okay to shelter up to about 12 to 15 people at once. Even though the pivot on which the top rock lies on might seem small, itโ€™s very strong and have not been able to pull and/or push down with manpower.

      After breakfast, check out of your hotel and drive back to Accra. Upon arrival, check into your hotel enjoy this day at leisure on your own.

      After breakfast, check out of your hotel and depart to Cape Coast and drive through the historic Denkyira Kingdom to Kakum National Park, one of West Africaโ€™s surviving tropical rain forests.  Choose between a 2 km nature walk through the rain forest to discover the wide variety of exotic flora and fauna species and the medicinal values they offer or take a walk on the canopy walkway hanging 40 meters above the forest ground.

      After lunch on your own at Hans Cottage, embark on a tour of the infamous Forts, Castles, and Slave Dungeons of Ghana. History will unfold the story of the slave trade which the impact is still felt beyond the shores of Africa today. Visit the Cape Coast Castle built by the Swedes in 1653 and was later taken over by the British. Here, you would learn about the relationship between the western slave traders and the African tribes that made the trans-Atlantic slave trade possible. It is an opportunity to be up and close with history โ€“ to stand in the dark and stuffy dungeons, imagining the experience and conditions that millions of Africans endured. This castle also houses the West African Historical Museum. 


  • Day 8 Elmina - Slave River โ€“ Kumasi City Tour

      Elmina - Slave River โ€“ Kumasi City Tour

      After breakfast, check out of your hotel and drive through the forest zone to Kumasi, the seat of the Ashanti Empire to explore the legends of the famous Ashanti people, whose legacies are still evident today. Stop at the former slave in Assin Manso. Visit the site of โ€œDonkor Nsuoโ€, the former Slave River and market, as well as the final transit point for a large number of enslaved Africans.  This is the final resting place for two ancestors whose mortal remains were returned from the USA and Jamaica and re-interred there. 

      Afterwards, continue to Kumasi where you will visit the Manhyia Palace Museum to obtain firsthand information on the legacies of the Ashanti kingdom. A regal history that dates back to 1700 is told with relics and artefacts. Enjoy a drive through the city with monuments dedicated to the memory of the great Ashanti people.  Your city tour on this day will also include a visit to the famous Kejetia market, the National Cultural Centre which features the Prempeh II Jubilee Museum and various studios of the brass makers, potters and batik makers.

  • Day 9 Ashanti Craft Villages - Accra

      After breakfast, check out of your hotel and depart for Accra. En route to Accra, visit the three famous Ashanti craft villages; Ahwiaa, the wood carversโ€™ village, Ntonso, the home of Adinkra cloth, and Bonwire, the Kente weaving village. You will have an opportunity to see how African crafts are made and to buy directly from the artisans who make them. Afterwards, continue your drive back to Accra. 

  • Day 10 Farewell Departure

      Farewell Departure

      After breakfast, spend the day shopping and doing last minute packing. At noon, check out of the hotel and transfer to airport for check-in and final departure back home.
