Pets may be imported if strict rules are adhered to. They must have an ISO 11784/11785 compliant pet microchip inserted, have been vaccinated at least 21 days (but not more than 12 months) prior to travel. The pet must have undergone a Blood Titre Test 90 days prior to travel (this step is only required if entering from a country with a high-risk of rabies). Finally, a veterinarian must then complete the bi-lingual Annex II for Italy and attach the Rabies Certificate. All documents must accompany the animal at all times.
Health regulations
