Welcome to Whitehorse - Northern lights observation

Upon arrival at the Whitehorse Airport, a tour representative will be waiting for you. He/she will be holding a sign with your name. The available schedule for airport pick up is from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm.

Afterwards, you get the transfer to your hotel in downtown Whitehorse. The hotel is within walking distance of restaurants, banks and shops. We will have an introductory meeting. You will also have time to try on winter clothes (optional in case of renting them), go shopping and dine on your own.

Note: If you are unable to identify the tour representative at the airport, please contact us on the emergency number that will be provided after booking.

Timings are approximate and may change in destination.

    • 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Whitehorse City Tour - Northern lights observation

Discover the most interesting places in Whitehorse on a tour through a city that is both historic and modern. You will visit the SS Klondike National Historic Site, where you will find one of the last great paddle-wheelers that traveled the Yukon River system until the 1950s, the Old Log Church, the oldest building and church in Whitehorse, the unique Log Cabin Skyscraper, a three-story tower made entirely of logs, and more.

After visiting the city's most important sites, you will walk along Main Street, where you can shop or have lunch at one of the cafés (not included).

For the rest of the day, you can add an extra activity—we recommend adding the Wildlife Preserve and Hot Springs extra (not included):

You will visit the Yukon Wildlife Preserve, located about 30 km from Whitehorse. There, you will have close-up views of many of the Yukon's large mammal species, including moose, mule deer, caribou, Dall sheep, mountain goats, bison, and even the high Arctic muskox, all in their natural habitat. You are sure to get incredible photos during this experience.

The hot springs are not far from the preserve, making them the perfect way to continue the day. You can relax in the hot springs and enjoy the impressive winter mountain scenery.

Note: Those under 19 years old are not allowed for the Hot Springs activity.

      Meals: Not included.

  • Day 3 Free day - Northern lights observation

    • 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Free day - Northern lights observation

You have a free day to enjoy Arctic activities that you can add as extras. Today, you might have the opportunity to add the half-day snowshoeing tour (not included):

Put on a pair of modern, lightweight snowshoes and experience the wonderful countryside among the gold miners, hunters, and fur traders of yesteryear. See the scenic location in the Whitehorse area, with regional wildlife like grouse, foxes, coyotes, and hares occasionally seen in the distance.

Note: The snowshoeing activity is only available for ages 7 and up.

Therefore, if you add this activity and have younger children with you, an adult must stay at the hotel with them while the activity takes place (approximately 2 hours).
