About experience

An air conditionedย Toyota Minivan is used to run thisย tour. Pick Ups are from your hotel starting at 07:30am and drop offs are at 05:00pm every day.

Day 1: Addis and domestic flight to Bahir Dar(B&B)

Upon arrival in Addis, you will be directly connected to your domestic flight to Bahir dar. In the afternoon, you will have an excursion to the Blue Nile Falls. It is 100m (328 ft) wide with the water plunging 45m, giving rise to steam clouds and rainbows. Late in the afternoon, drive back to Bahir Dar and finish the day with a lovely sunset over Lake Tana.

Day 2: Bahir Dar boat trip on Lake Tana(B&B)

Begin with a boat trip on Lake Tana, where 37 islands and 32 of them have churches and monasteries. You will visit the monastery church of Ura Kidane Mihiret, a more decorative church with a huge, conical thatched roof painted with scenes from Biblical lore. Kebran Gabriel is renowned for a magnificent manuscript to the Four Gospels.ย Daga Istifanos is considered one of the most sacred on Lake Tana and said to have served as a temporary hiding place for the Ark of the Covenant.

Day 3: Journey to Gondar(B&B)

After breakfast, you will drive to Gondar, the Camelot of Africa. In the afternoon, visit Fasilidas' Palace, probably the most impressive of all the castles found in the area.ย Thenย Church of Debre Berham Selassie (Light of the Trinity). The interior is decorated with beautiful frescos, cherubs and paintings. Debre Berhan Selassie is rumored to once having been the proposed final resting-place of the Ark of the Covenant.

Day 4: Fly to Axum(B&B)

After lunch in Axum, you will have a city tour in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the Granite stone Stele, the Tombs of King Kaleb and his son King G/Mesekel, Queen of Shebaโ€™s palace and the Church of Zion, the final resting place of the True Arc of Covenant.

Day 5: Lalibela(B&B)

Today, you will take a flight to Lalibela, the home of the largest monolithic church in the world. The city contains 11 monolithic churches that were built in the 12th century. Some are beautifully painted inside. Possibly, you will start visiting churches the first and the second group of the three.

Day 6: Return Flight to Addis Ababa(B&B)

Early in the morning, you will visit the remaining group of churches before you will be taken to the airport. At 10am, you goย to the airport for your flight to Addis Ababa. Upon arrival and interest, the driver and the guide meet you at the airport and take you for some shopping and tasting of Ethiopian Coffee. The tour ends at about 7:30pm.
