Day 1: Arrival In Kathmandu (1,300M) & Transfer To Hotel.

On arrival at Kathmandu Airport, you will be met by a Sherpa Expedition and Trekking staff member and taken to your hotel which will be followed by a short briefing regarding your trek. This evening we have organized a welcome dinner in the hotel.

    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 2: Kathmandu To Syabru Besi (1,460M) 6-7 Hours.

Today we head out on a seven-hour road trip from Kathmandu to Langtang Valley. As the road climbs out of Kathmandu Valley you will begin to have amazing views of the Annapurna Mountains, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and other snow-capped peaks in the Langtang region. We will first drive to Trishuli Village and then Dhunche Village at which point we officially enter the Langtang National Park. After leaving Dhunche we drive for one more hour until we arrive at Syabrubesi where we stay the night.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Trek To Lama Hotel (2,470 M) 5-6 Hours.
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 3: Trek To Lama Hotel (2,470 M) 5-6 Hours.

This morning we cross the Bhote Kosi โ€” meaning โ€˜Tibet Riverโ€™ โ€” which flows down from Tibet. The trail then gradually climbs through sub-tropical forests to connect with the trail from Syabrubesi, then heads higher through oak and rhododendron forests. We must be on the lookout for Langur monkeys in the tree tops. The trail continues to climb through the forest up to Lama Hotel where we will stay the night.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Trek To Mundu (3,550M) 5-6 Hours.
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 4: Trek To Mundu (3,550M) 5-6 Hours.

This morning the trail ascends through forest on the first part of todayโ€™s trek and on the trail we will have views of Langtang Lirung from gaps within the trees. At Ghora Tabela (3,000m) we emerge from the forest and arrive at a Nepali army outpost. The trail then passes through several smaller settlements inhabited by herders who come here to graze their animals, including Yak, during the summer months. We then arrive at Langtang Village, which has almost entirely been rebuilt in a more modern style of architecture since the 2015 earthquake devastated this region.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Trek To Kyanjin Gompa (3,800M) 5-6 Hours.
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 5: Trek To Kyanjin Gompa (3,800M) 5-6 Hours.

Todayโ€™s trek is fairly easygoing and takes about 3 hours but gradually gains altitude which requires taking it at a slower pace. The trail is not too difficult which gives you more time to absorb the valley and mountain scenery. We will reach Kyanjin Gompa in the afternoon and may then decide, if you have the energy to trek to Kyanjin Ri (4779m) and then return back to our hotel for the night.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Exploration Day Kyanjin Gompa & Hike Up To Kyanjin Ri (4,850 M)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 6: Exploration Day Kyanjin Gompa & Hike Up To Kyanjin Ri (4,850 M)

Health professionals advise you to stay active during the acclimatization period. We can choose to visit the monastery and the cheese factory, walk up to the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung or maybe climb up to Kyanjin Ri that is directly above the village from where we will have some fantastic views of the Langtang peaks.

  • Day 7 Day 7: Trek To Lama Hotel (2,470M) 5-6 Hours.
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 7: Trek To Lama Hotel (2,470M) 5-6 Hours.

Today we retrace our footsteps back down the valley, following the Langtang Khola (river) to Mundu Village and then to Ghora Tabela. The descent will certainly be a lot quicker than the ascent. After lunch we continue the steep descent to Lama Hotel.

  • Day 8 Day 8: Trek To Thulo Syafru (2,260M) 5-6 Hours.
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 8: Trek To Thulo Syafru (2,260M) 5-6 Hours.

Today the first village we come to is Bamboo and from here head uphill on the last part of the trek to Thulo Syabru Village. Thulo Syabru is a Tamang settlement in the Langtang region. We will have time to stroll around the village and sample some of the local cuisine. We will stay here in a hotel overnight.

  • Day 9 Day 9: Trek To Chandanbari (3,330M) 5-6 Hours.
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 9: Trek To Chandanbari (3,330M) 5-6 Hours.

The trail today is uphill as we head to higher altitudes. The trek to Chandanbari should take about 5 hours as we walk through forests and have frequent opportunities to take in the incredible mountain views. Chandanbari is famous for its cheese factory and welcomes visitors. You may wish to buy some cheese while you are there! Tonight we will stay at Chandanbari.

  • Day 10 Day 10: Trek To Gosainkund (4,380M) 6-7 Hours.
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 10: Trek To Gosainkund (4,380M) 6-7 Hours.

Today is a hard day as we ascend to Lake Gosainkunda. The higher altitude makes the going tougher than at lower altitudes. You will feel more tired than the last few days because of gaining more altitude and the lack of oxygen. Once we reach Lauri Binayak Pass (4610m) we will have views of some enormous peaks, such as Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal and the Annapurna Massif. From Gosainkunda we have some awesome views of the lakes. We will stay here overnight.

  • Day 11 Day 11: Trek To Ghopte (3,440M) Via Laurebina Pass (4,610M) 7-8 Hours.
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 11: Trek To Ghopte (3,440M) Via Laurebina Pass (4,610M) 7-8 Hours.

The first part of our trek today takes us around two to three hours before arriving at Gosainkunda Pass (4610m). This is a fantastic camera opportunity where you will have extraordinary mountain views and also a view looking down on the Helambu trail. The trail from here is narrow and rocky and requires caution as you get closer to Ghopte. An Australian trekker was lost here in 1991 and was not found for 43 days. We will stay at Ghopte for night.

  • Day 12 Day 11: Trek To Kutumsang (2,450M) 5-6 Hours.
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 11: Trek To Kutumsang (2,450M) 5-6 Hours.

This morning we will follow the trail for around 6 hours, firstly reaching Thadepati Village (3690m) which is also an excellent viewing point where you can look out over the mountains and countryside of the Helambu region. We then head down to Kutumsang where we will stay the night.

  • Day 13 Day 13: Trek To Chisapani (2230 M) 6-7 Hours.
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 13: Trek To Chisapani (2230 M) 6-7 Hours.

Todayโ€™s trail has many ups and downs as we pass through a beautiful countryside passing many villages of various ethnic groups. Our trek today should take between 6 to 7 hours until we arrive at Chisapani where we will once again have some striking views, especially in the early morning as the sun rises over the mountains in the ever changing light. We will stay the night at Chisapani.

  • Day 14 Day 14: Trek To Sundarijal & Drive To Kathmandu (1,300M) 5-6 Hours.
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 14: Trek To Sundarijal & Drive To Kathmandu (1,300M) 5-6 Hours.

Today we have an easy trek and initially ascend to Shivapuri and then descend to Sundarijal from where we take a one hour bus ride to Kathmandu and then back to our hotel.  This evening a representative from Sherpa Expedition & Trekking will pick you up from your hotel and take you to our farewell dinner at a local Nepali restaurant.

  • Day 15 Day 15: Final Departure Day.
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 15: Final Departure Day.

A representative Sherpa Expedition and Trekking staff will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the International Airport at least three hours prior to your departure. We hope that on your way home you will be considering a return trip to Nepal and consider us as your preferred agent.
