Day 1: Desert Oasis San Pedro De Atacama - Sunset In Valle De La Luna (Moon Valley)

After arrival at the airport in Calama, you will travel by transfer (without tour guide) to the desert oasis of San Pedro de Atacama, located at 2,400 meters. With its diverse restaurants and bars, San Pedro de Atacama, which has a hippie flair, is the ideal starting point for excursions into the bizarre desert landscape. In the evening, after short guided hikes (Tres Marรญas, Caรฑรณn and Amphitheater), you will enjoy the breathtaking play of colors of the sunset in the Valle de la Luna (Valley of the Moon). Excursion duration approx. 4.5 hours (pick up from the guesthouse around 15:00 / return around 19:30).

Day 2: Guatin Gorge - Puripobre Hot Springs - Baltinache Hidden Lagoons

A one-hour hike today will take you up through the spectacular rocky Guatin Gorge ("Quebrada de Guatin") at an altitude of about 2,500 - 3,000m, where you will get to know the typical flora of the otherwise dry Atacama Desert. You will see different, huge cacti species and also the striking Cola del Zorro (foxtail). Afterwards, you will relax in the warm springs of Puripobre, springs of volcanic groundwater in the Puritama River. Return to San Pedro de Atacama. Excursion duration approx. 5 - 5.5 hours (pick up from the guest house around 07:30 / return around 13:00). In the afternoon you will visit one of the secret places of the Atacama Desert: the hidden lagoons of Baltinache ("Seven Lagoons"). In the highly saline water of these turquoise lagoons you can experience a bath like in the Dead Sea. After this wonderful refreshment you will drive back to San Pedro de Atacama. Excursion duration approx. 5.5 - 6 hours (pick up from the guest house around 13:30 / return around 19:30). BoardBreakfast

Afterwards, you will continue to visit the "Monjes de la Pacana" (Pacana Monks), large stone pillars that stand solitary in the middle of the desert. Afterwards, you will visit the Quisquiro Salt Lake, located at an altitude of over 4,000 meters. Here you will have time to rest and enjoy the surroundings. Finally, on your way back to San Pedro de Atacama, you will pass the salt lake "Aguas Calientes", which is famous for its colored water.
