      Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City. Still unofficially referred to as Saigon, the city is the largest in Vietnam. You will find an eclectic mix of the traditional and the new, where pagodas and markets compete alongside the trappings of Vietnamโ€™s newly discovered entrepreneurial spirit.

      VietnamByBikeโ€™s Guide plans to meet you in the hotel reception at 4pm for the welcome meeting followed by a walking tour. The tour will take in some of the highlights including the Opera House (formerly South Vietnam National Assembly), Hotel de Ville, Notre Dame Cathedral and the impressive French style edifice that is the GPO building.

  • Day 2 Saigon - Cu Chi Tunnels - Saigon (B, L/Cycling 35 Km)

      Driving for 1.5hrs away from Saigonโ€™s remarkable rush hour traffic to reach the quieter suburbs this morning, we collect our bikes near the remains of an old US military base (25th infantry division) and start our ride for about 30 km to Ben Dinh, the site of the infamous Cu Chi Tunnels. Originally started during the French occupation of the country, the tunnels went on to achieve notoriety during the Vietnam War, when they formed an amazing underground command base for 10,000 Viet Cong troops. We will explore the tunnels with a local guide this morning. Be warned though, the tunnels are low and narrow and can be claustrophobic.

      After lunch we continue cycling for about 20 km towards Ben Nay to further explore the area. We drive 2hrs back to Saigon arriving in the early evening. It is possible to spend a free day in Saigon if you prefer to see more of the city. For the cycle ride today, and on subsequent rides, water is provided and you can top up your water bottle from the support truck. Overnight in Saigon City!

  • Day 3 Saigon - Bao Loc (B, L/Cycling 50 Km)

      Today is an easy and beautiful day in Bao Loc. You will have an early morning departure to Dong Nai District in about 2,5 hours in a minivan. You will take a short time to fit our Mt.bicycle and venture in-depth into the coffee, tea and cashew fields with some interactions where you can stop for the pictures.  You will have lunch at a small water stream restaurant that is called โ€œThรกc Ba Giแปt" with a rest in the forest nearby the forest zone! 


      In the afternoon, you continue cycling further toward the bufferzone of Cat Tien National Park with a coffee break at where we might finish biking day and transfer to our forest resort in Bao Loc for overnight.

  • Day 4 Bao Loc - Da Lat (B, L)

       Enjoy the great nature with the pure atmosphere of our forest resort and the beautiful breakfastโ€™s restaurant in the middle of the green giant trees where you understand the value of life!

      We take an hour and a half to drive to a charming village to cycle for visiting Elephant Waterfalls, then you ride down to Nam Bang before we continue cycling on gentle hilly backroads to Ta Nung and Calmly as a gateway of Da Lat Valley City.

      Taste local foods enroute with a blend coffee will be made by the native people of the coffee homeland of Lam Dong province and you may be introduced to the DaLat Wine with meals. Check-in at a 4 star hotel and discover Dalat nightlife!

  • Day 5 Da Lat - Nha Trang (B, L)

      โœจ Weโ€™ll leave Dalat this morning by bus and drive for about half an hour to the start of todayโ€™s ride. The beginning of the ride is on relatively quiet mountain roads with plenty of ascent and descent for the first 20 km before we stop for a break. From here the next 30 km culminates with an ascent of the Hon Giao Pass (1,700m), a challenging ride that takes us up through forests of pine and across a landscape of dramatic mountain scenery.


      โœจ After celebrating reaching the pass and a chance to rest at the top, the remainder of todayโ€™s ride is a superb 30km of virtually uninterrupted descent towards the town of Khanh Vinh, where we plan to stop for lunch. We finish the rest of the journey to Nha Trang by bus and it should take us around 1.5 hours. Overnight in Nha Trang City!

      โœจ Nha Trangโ€™s beautiful bays, golden beaches and turquoise waters have seen it quickly grow into a bustling town and popular tourist destination. Weather permitting, this morning weโ€™ll take a cruise out to explore the surrounding seas and islands. We aim to stop near one of the islands where you have the option to have a swim from the boat (possible to hire snorkeling equipment).


      โœจ We move on to another tiny island where we plan to spend a few hours relaxing and swimming. The island is privately owned and it is possible to rent a sun lounger and parasol. There will also be the option to enjoy drinks, a seafood lunch or snack on the island (at your own expense). Returning to Nha Trang later this afternoon, the rest of the day is free. Overnight in Nha Trang City!

      โœจ Using a combination of bus and bicycle this morning weโ€™ll continue along the coast to the city of Quy Nhon. We commence our ride from the hotel in Nha Trang, encountering heavier traffic as we leave the city which thins out as we head along the Pham Van Dong road and continue along the coastal road to Ninh An toll fee station (a journey of some 18 kilometers). From here we then take the bus for one hour to Dai Lanh, where we have a chance to swim and relax, before continuing by bus over Ca Pass to Bai Tien Song Cau. From here we resume our journey by bike with a 42 km ride to complete the final leg to Quy Nhon and our hotel for the night.

  • Day 8 Quy Nhon - Hoi An (B, L)

      โœจ Departing Quy Nhon this morning we cycle out across Thi Nai Bridge, the longest sea bridge in Vietnam, which connects the city with the Phuong Mai Peninsula. Once across, we continue by bike along the Quy Nyon lagoon towards Phu My some 50 kilometers away. From Phu My we then travel by bus to Quang Ngai, the scene of the My Lai massacre - one of the most infamous episodes of the Vietnam War.


      โœจ After visiting the site and visitorโ€™s center, we complete the final leg to Hoi An by bus, a journey of some 2 to 3 hours. Overnight in Hoi An Ancient Town!

      โœจ The historic, merchant town and safe harbor of Hoi An had become one of the busiest international trading ports of Southeast Asia by the 17th and 18th centuries. Colonized by the Portuguese in the 16th century, it still retains its charm today, with many of its old buildings superbly preserved. 


      โœจ This morning weโ€™ll take a walk through the historic heart of this World Heritage Site, taking in the cityโ€™s famous Japanese Bridge and its museum, before wandering amongst its traditional wooden houses and Chinese temples. This afternoon is then free to perhaps take a gentle boat, try your hand at Vietnamese cooking or pay a visit to one of Hoi Anโ€™s renowned tailorsโ€™ shops, or maybe explore further afield by bike.       โœจ Leaving Hoi An after breakfast, we travel by bus up the coast to Danang followed by a twisting drive up to the lofty heights of the Hai Van (Sea Cloud) Pass. This stunningly scenic region once marked the boundary between Vietnam and the Champa Kingdom to the south and, as we reach the summit of the pass, the panoramas before us are simply spectacular. Descending by bus we head next for Lang Co where todayโ€™s ride starts.


      โœจ We cycle along scenic back roads as we wind our way alongside the Cau Hai Lagoon to end the ride finally at Phu Bai. Meeting our bus in Thuan An, weโ€™ll then drive for about an hour to Huแบฟ on the shores of the Perfume River. Overnight in Hue City!

      โœจ Once the capital of Vietnam and an inspiration for poets and artists alike for centuries, Hue is still a thriving and important city. First thing this morning we drive to the impressive Old Citadel that still dominates the left bank of the river. After visiting the citadel we commence our final cycle ride. Our route follows the Perfume River and leads us to the 19th century Nguyen Tomb of Ming Mang. After visiting the mausoleum we return to our hotel to freshen up before the mid- to late-afternoon departure of the overnight train to Hanoi.


      โœจ We plan to stay in โ€™soft-sleeperโ€™ four berth cabins, bunk bed style and bedding is provided. Both Western and Asian style toilets are at the end of each carriage as well as a basin. The Leader will allocate beds keeping people together as far as possible but it may be necessary to share with other travellers. Overnight on Train!

      You will arrive to Hanoi around 5h30 am and transfer with guide to the Hotel in the Old Quarter Hanoi for breakfast and a short break before below acts: 


      โœจ 8:00 โ€“ 8:30 am: youโ€™ll be picked up from your hotel in old quarter HaNoi to get to the TuanChau Marina via the new Hanoi โ€“ Hai Phong Expressway. 


      โœจ 11:30 โ€“ 12:00 pm: Arriving at Halong Bay, youโ€™ll be welcomed to embark on the cruise. Itโ€™s time to learn about the cruise briefing and safety instructions while sipping a welcome drink. After check-in, you can take a short rest after an excursion. 


      โœจ 0:45 โ€“ 1:30 pm: While cruising through the karst rock formations into the world of natural heritage, you will have lunch at the luxury restaurant on the cruise. Fill your stomach with a great diversity of deluxe Vietnamese set menu and fresh seafood dishes. You can admire a lot of Dog Stone, Dinh Huong Island, Ga Choi Island, also known as Hon Trong Mai of Ha Long Bay. Island Images show up with two huge chickens: a drum, a roof with their heads together, feet pounding the protruding pose unique and impressive. Between heavenโ€™s immense sea, Ga Choi island shows up beautifully, natural challenges, the weather which for hundreds of years, sometimes chicken stands proudly between sky and sea. Each dawn, the sun sometimes dyed red chicken to create a shimmering beauty scene, vaguely. Photos of the island, Ga Choi gorgeous attracted a lot of tourists come and also the symbol of the House tourism Cage 


      โœจ 3:00 โ€“ 5:30 pm: Visit to Luon Grotto. This is also one of the most beautiful tunnels in Halong Bay. You will explore it by kayaking or just sit on a small bamboo boat, one fisherman will take it.       โœจ After breakfast 7:45 โ€“ 9:00 am: The next destination of Halong Bay classic route is Sung Sot Cave (Surprise Cave), one of the most magnificent and largest caves in Halong. To reach the mouth of Surprise Cave, you have to climb more than 50 steps and feast your eyes on the mysterious natural vegetation of Ha Long Bay. Discovered in 1901 by the French, its original name is โ€œGrotte Des Surprisesโ€ due to the amazing variability in the cave. Sung Sot Cave occupies an area of approximately 10,000m2, divided into two large chambers. Each has its own typical scientific value which features million-year-old stone stalactites and columns formed throughout millions of years. 


      โœจ 9:30 am: After that, you will have time to pack your luggage or chill out on the sundeck while the boat is heading for the pier. 


      โœจ 10:15 -11:00 am: Itโ€™s time to have lunch on cruise. 


      โœจ 11:45 โ€“ 12:00 The cruise itinerary ends at Tuan Chau Port, where you sit back and relax in the waiting room for return transportation. 


      โœจ 12:00 โ€“ 4:00 pm: Time for transfer from Halong to Hanoi. You will be dropped off at your hotel in the old quarter Hanoi. Have dinner with the serverโ€™s team and explore this last night in Vietnam!
