Itinerary

Day 1: Drive from St. George, Utah to Canyonlands National Park, Dead Horse Point State Park and Moab, Utah

Stop At: Canyonlands National Park, Moab, UT 84532
We will depart the St. George, Utah area at 7:00 am (MST) to Canyonlands National Park (347 miles โ€“ approximately 5 hours). We will drive up and through the Wasatch Mountains and then through Utahโ€™s high desert Castle and Canyon Country along the western edge of the Colorado Plateau which all are as rich in history as they are in spectacular scenery. You will see towering sandstone walls and monoliths and many strange formations on our way to Canyonlands National Park (it is known for its dramatic desert landscape carved by the Colorado River. Island in the Sky is a huge, flat-topped mesa with panoramic overlooks). We will stop at the visitorโ€™s center at Island in the Sky area and a short hike is possible at that time. Total days mileage is approximately 388 miles.

Stop At: Dead Horse Point State Park, Canyonlands National Park, UT
From Canyonlands National Park will proceed to the Dead Horse Point Overlook at the Dead Horse Point Utah State Park (Dead Horse Point is a breathtaking view 2,000 feet above a gooseneck in the Colorado River surrounded by immense vertical cliffs that meet with canyons carved by ice, water, and the wind creating a visual masterpiece).

Stop At: Moab, UT 84532, USA
From the Dead Horse View Point we will drive into Moab, Utah (many, many films have been made here over the decades). Dinner options will be available. You will spend the night in a Moab hotel (3 star or better).

Day 2: Moab to Arches National Park to Potash Petroglyphs to Hole N" The Rock then back to Moab, Utah

Stop At: Arches National Park, Moab, UT
We will depart the hotel in Moab around 7:00 am (MST) and will drive the scenic drive into and around Arches National Park (it is known as the site of more than 2,000 natural sandstone arches), where numerous stops may be made for photos and a couple of short hikes are possible and then on to the visitorโ€™s center on our way out of the park.

Stop At: Potash Road, Long Canyon Road, Moab, UT
From Arches National Park will then make a short side trip up the Potash Scenic Byway to the roadside Potash Petroglyphs (Archeologists believe that most of the petroglyphs were done by Indians of the Southern San Rafael Fremont culture, which flourished between 600 A.D. and 1300 A.D. The Fremont art includes portrayals of animals, lines of hand holding men and triangular figures with horns, spears and shields).

Stop At: Hole 'N the Rock, 11037 S Highway 191, Moab, UT 84532-3969
From the Potash Petroglyphs will then drive south of Moab to Hole Nโ€ The Rock (a most unique 5,000 square foot home carved out of rock and unusual gift shop, trading post and exotic zoo).

We will then drive back into Moab for lunch and spend the rest of the day wandering around Moab. Dinner options will be available. You will spend the night again in a Moab Hotel (3 star or better). Total days mileage is approximately 75 miles.

Day 3: From Moab, Utah to Goblin Valley State Park to Capitol Reef National Park to Grand Staircase-Escalante to Bryce Canyon

Stop At: Goblin Valley State Park, Hwy 24 Apx 12 Miles West of Hwy 24, Green River, UT 84525
We will depart the hotel in Moab around 7:00 am (MST) and we will drive over to view Goblin Valley at the Goblin Valley Utah State Park (where soft sandstone has eroded into interesting shapes, somewhat resembling goblins โ€“ the movie Galaxy Quest was filmed here).

Stop At: Capitol Reef National Park, UT 84775
From Goblin Valley State Park we will then drive on to Capitol Reef National Park (It surrounds a long wrinkle in the earth known as the Water-pocket Fold, with layers of golden sandstone, canyons and striking rock formations). We will stop at the visitorโ€™s Center and a few other stops within the park for the possibility of a couple of short hikes and photo opportunities. We will then drive into Torrey, Utah for a stop for lunch

Stop At: Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, 735 W Main, UT 84726
From Torrey, Utah we continue onto scenic Byway Route 12 which crosses the Aquarius Plateau and crosses various parts of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument and over the Escalante River.
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Bryce Canyon City, Bryce Canyon City, Utah
We will end the day in Bryce Canyon City, Utah. Dinner options will be available. You will spend the night in a Bryce Canyon (3 star or better) hotel. Total Days Mileage is approximately 282 miles.

We will depart the hotel in Bryce Canyon around 7:00 am (MST) and spend most of the day wandering and stopping throughout Bryce Canyon National Park (it is known for crimson-colored hoodoos, which are spire-shaped rock formations). Included is a stop at the visitorโ€™s center.

Stop At: Red Canyon, Highway 12, Panguitch, UT
From Bryce Canyon National Park we will then drive the Red Canyon Highway going through the Red Canyon Tunnel outside of Bryce Canyon stopping a couple of times for photographs.

Stop At: Mount Carmel, Mount Carmel, Utah
From Red Canyon we will stop for Lunch at Mt. Carmel Junction.
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Zion-Mt. Carmel Tunnel, Zion National Park, UT
After Lunch at Mt. Carmel Junction we will travel the scenic Zion-Mt. Carmel Highway traveling through the Zion-Mt. Carmel Tunnel

Stop At: Springdale Visitor Center, 1101 Zion Park Blvd, Springdale, UT 84767-7762
We will stop at the Zion National park Visitor's Center in Springdale, Utah

We will end the days travels in Springdale Utah and stay in a Springdale Hotel (3 star or better). Total Days mileage is approximately 131 miles.

We will spend the morning wandering inside Zion National Park (distinguished by Zion Canyonโ€™s steep red cliffs. Zion Canyon Scenic Drive cuts through its main section, leading to forest trails along the Virgin River) via park shuttles stepping off for pictures and short hike possibilities and at the Zion Human History Museum.

Stop At: St. George, St. George, Utah
From Zion National Park and Springdale, Utah we will head directly to the St. George, Utah area. We will stop for lunch along the way. We should arrive at your hotel at approximately 5:00 pm (MST). Total Days mileage is approximately 50 miles.
Duration: 8 hours
