Please be advised that if you need to return early from the trek due to reasons such as sickness, unfavorable weather conditions, personal issues, itinerary modifications, or any other unforeseen circumstances, the following conditions apply: - Any payments made for flights, hotel accommodations, mountain room bookings, meals, and related expenses are nonrefundable. - You will be required to cover the costs of hotel stays, meals, and other expenses in Kathmandu independently. Additionally, please note that during the months of March to May and September to November, all flights will depart from Ramechhap. It will be necessary for you to make a 4-5 hour drive from Kathmandu to Ramechhap in order to catch your flight. Kindly consider these terms and arrangements carefully before commencing your trek.       Your adventure begins at Kathmandu. On arrival, a staff member from the Sherpa Expedition and Trekking will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel.   You will stay here tonight at a hotel in Thamel โ€“ the tourist center of Kathmandu. 

  • Day 2 Day 2: Fly From Kathmandu To Lukla & Trek To Phakding (2,652M/8,700Ft) Duration 4-5 Hours.

      You will be picked up from your hotel for an early morning, 30 to 40-minute scenic flight, that takes you to Tenzing-Hilary Airport at Lukla. We will then follow the trail to Phakding along the banks of the Dudh Koshi River. Breakfast, lunch & dinner included

      We have a fairly easy day on the trail as we cross a number of bridges across the Dudh Kosi River via the appealing villages of Toc-Toc, Benkar, and Monjo before we arrive at the official entrance to Sagarmatha National Park. We will then follow the trail along the river plains for several hours and cross a final bridge before we have to climb a steep hill to reach Namche Bazaar, a bustling town with many modern facilities such as restaurants, hotels, internet cafes and banks. Breakfast, lunch & dinner included.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Acclimatization At Namche Bazaar.

      Day 4: Acclimatization At Namche Bazaar.

      Today has been set aside in order to acclimatize, which is necessary before heading to the higher altitudes later on the trek. Health experts recommend being active during this time in order to better acclimatize. We have several options. We can trek to Thame or visit Khunde. Alternatively, we can spend the time exploring Namche Bazaar and check out the weekly market that takes place on Friday evening and on Saturday morning. Your guide will be with you and will gladly take you to the Tourist Visitor Center close to the headquarters of the Sagarmatha National Park that has an interesting display of equipment and relics of the first Everest climbers. You can also learn something about the flora and fauna of the region. Breakfast, lunch & dinner included.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Trek From Namche Bazaar To Tengboche (3,860M) Duration 5-6 Hours.

      The trek continues along the banks of the Dudh Kosi with glorious views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Taboche Peak and Amadablam. You will climb to an altitude of 3,800 meters to reach Tengboche. The Tengboche monastery has some unbelievably ornate wall hangings, a 20-foot sculpture of various Buddhaโ€™s, and musical instruments and robes of the Lamas. You will be taken to witness a prayer ceremony either in the evening or in the morning. Breakfast, lunch & dinner included.

      The trek from Tengboche to Dingboche is a short trek with the final stage to Dingboche up a steep hill. The trail first heads to the villages of Somare (4020m) and Orsho. The trail then crosses a suspension bridge before you have a steep climb to Dingboche Village where we will stay overnight. Breakfast, lunch & dinner included.

      Today is another day set aside in order to acclimatize. In order to stay active, as recommended by health specialists, we will climb 400m to Nangkartshang Gompa located on a ridge just to the north of Dingboche Village from where we have views of Mt. Makalu (8,463m), the worldโ€™s fifth highest mountain, as well as Mt. Ama Dablam. If you have the energy, then we can climb to the summit at Nangkartshang (5090m). Breakfast, lunch & dinner included.

      Today we follow the trail to Dughla Village and then cross the steep moraine at the base of the Khumbu Glacier, having to cross stretches strewn with boulders. We will continue to ascend to Chupki Lhara that has a collection of stones with prayer flags as a memorial to climbers Scott Fischer (American) and ten-time Everest summiteer Babu Chiri Sherpa (Nepalese guide) who died while trying to ascend Mt. Everest. On the way to the Khumbu Glacier moraine, several huge peaks are right in front of us: Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori, and Mahalangur Himal. This scene will leave you stunned! We will stay in a lodge tonight. Breakfast, lunch & dinner included.

  • Day 9 Day 9: Trek From Lobuche To Everest Base Camp (5,364M), & Back To Gorak Shep (5,180M) Duration 7-8 Hours.

      We gradually head to higher elevations passing Gorak Shep Lake and then further on we come to a memorial that honors Indian mountaineers who have died on the mountain. Walking now is more physically challenging because of the thinner air at this altitude. The trail has rocks, moraine, and streams to cross before we reach EBC. One of the first things we notice on arriving at EBC is the distinct array of colorful tents of mountaineers waiting for the right conditions before an attempt on the summit. From EBC we can plainly see Nuptse, Khumbutse, and Pumori and the snow shining on their peaks. After a rest and look around EBC we head back to Gorak Shep for the night.       We head out in the pre-dawn darkness, with temperatures around -10 to -14C as we head to Kala Patthar. There is also a likelihood of strong winds that will add the cold. In the east are the peaks of Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse. Everest also begins to appear. At the summit of Kala Patthar, we will be overjoyed as we take in the 360-degree views and the colossal and ominous Mt. Everest that appears right before your eyes. This is the time to take some awesome snaps of Everest that will be a reminder for years after leaving Nepal. We will then descend to Pheriche for the night. Breakfast, lunch & dinner are included.

      From Pangboche we head down to the Imja Khola (river) and then up through the rhododendron forest to Tengboche. After lunch at Tengboche, we continue on the trail across the hillside filled with colorful rhododendron and juniper trees. After crossing the bridge over the (milky river) Dudh Koshi River we continue through the Dudh Koshi gorge descending through the pine forests before reaching Sansa. Along the way, we keep our eyes open for signs of wildlife, such as (Himalaya Thar) mountain goats, snow leopards, and colorful pheasants. After passing a Chorten we come to the Army camp at Namche Bazaar where we stay overnight. Breakfast, lunch & dinner included.

      Today we follow the trail back to Phakding on our last day of trekking. We expect to arrive at Lukla with time to spare allowing us to explore the village and neighboring countryside. You will take a deep breath and relive this astonishing journey in your mind, go over your photos and catch up on emails to your family and friends. This is the time for self-praise and to enjoy that feeling of completing this demanding trek. In the evening you may decide to celebrate with a few drinks. Breakfast, lunch & dinner included.

      We will take an early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. After arriving at Kathmandu, you can take a rest or do some last-minute shopping. This is also an opportunity to catch up on visiting places you missed when you first arrived in Kathmandu. Your guide will continue to assist you with souvenir shopping or sightseeing.
