      Use the morning to unwind and acclimate after your long flight the previous day. Enjoy a delightful breakfast, then take a leisurely stroll through the historic streets of Quito’s old town. Ever dreamed of straddling both the Northern and Southern hemispheres simultaneously? Today, your dream becomes reality! In the afternoon, you’ll explore the "Mitad del Mundo," or the "Middle of the World," and engage in interactive experiences at the Inti Ñan Museum. Here, you can partake in entertaining experiments and discover the ancient culture of Ecuador. Can you successfully balance an egg on a nail? Give it a try! Later, your guide will accompany you to Otavalo in the northern province of Imbabura, where you’ll have the unique opportunity to stay with a local family and gain firsthand insights into their daily life. The waterfall holds special significance for the indigenous people of Peguche and often serves as a venue for spiritual or traditional events. While in the area, you can also visit weavers, instrument makers, and other local artists. Your guide will then take you back to Quito.

      Today’s adventure takes you to Cotopaxi National Park, a roughly 2.5-hour drive from Quito. Cotopaxi, one of the world’s highest active volcanoes, offers awe-inspiring views of its perfectly formed cone and the surrounding volcanoes. The park is also home to wild horses, and with a bit of luck, you may even spot an Andean Condor. As you explore Limpiopungo Lake, your guide will provide insights into the high-altitude flora and fauna. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can opt for a trek to the Jose Rivas refuge at 4,800m or even venture further to the glacier’s base. Alternatively, you can choose a 2-hour horseback ride through the National Park. In the afternoon, continue your journey to Baños de Agua Santa, renowned for its variety of outdoor activities and thermal pools.

There’s something fun for everyone, regardless of age or preferences.

      After breakfast in Baños, set out on a journey along the "Avenue of Waterfalls" to visit the Pailón del Diablo (Devil’s Cauldron), a captivating cascade nestled between dramatic canyon walls. You can opt to walk 15 minutes downhill from the parking lot to the viewing platform, with a slightly longer uphill return. Your journey continues to Archidona, at the foothills of the Amazon rainforest. Once you’ve settled into the cozy lodge surrounded by lush forest, embark on a nightwalk with a local guide to discover the wealth of nocturnal wildlife!

      Today, you’ll explore Selva Viva ("Living Jungle"), a 1750-hectare wildlife and nature reserve managed by the NGO AmaZoonico. The organization’s mission is to rehabilitate wildlife that has been taken from their natural habitats, preparing them for reintroduction into the wild. The guides will educate you and your kids about medicinal plants and jungle survival techniques. After this educational adventure, you’ll set out for Anaconda Island, immersing yourselves in nature and learning about the island’s family, blowgun hunting techniques, and more.

Your next destination is the Papallacta Hot Springs, known for their therapeutic properties and natural spring sourced from the Cayambe and Antisana volcanoes. Take a relaxing soak in one of the many pools, or arrange a massage (additional cost) to unwind after several days of adventure!

      Today, enjoy a half-day bike tour in Quito! Meet your guide at the appointed time and embark on a four-hour bike tour through the neighborhoods of La Mariscal, La Floresta, Carolina Park, and Iñaquito. In La Floresta, witness the flourishing urban art scene with its street murals, designers, and boutiques. Cycle through Carolina Park, a vast 165-acre (66 ha) park. Finish the tour in Iñaquito and visit the Mercado to sample delicious street food. Afterward, take part in a hands-on cooking class for kids and prepare your own lunch. Later, return to your hotel and relax until your guide picks you up to take you to the airport for your journey back home.
