  • Day 1 Beijing – Arrival in the city

      Today, the meeting is approximately at 10:00 am in the lobby of the Beijing Spring Time Hostel to meet the group and your guide. We recommend arriving at least 01 day before (check the extras section) so that you can be at the meeting point at the indicated time.

      Once the group is gathered, you will head directly to one of the most incredible experiences you can have: spending the night on the Great Wall!

      Before putting on your hiking boots, you’ll stop for lunch at a local farm (not included) to recharge for the hike.

      In the mid-afternoon, you’ll head to the Wall to walk along totally isolated and unrestored sections of the Wall. This is where we will set up camp to watch the sunset from the top of one of the Wonders of the World.

      NOTE: Due to cold weather before the end of April and after the end of September, we will stay at a guest house near the Wall instead of camping.

      Accommodation: From April to September, a 2-person tent, (outside these specific dates, accommodation will be in Beijing Ya Shan Xiao Zhu Hostel – Shared room (6 to 8 people).

      Today, you will wake up very early to enjoy a spectacular sunrise at the Great Wall of China. It will definitely be an unforgettable memory.

      Around 9:00 am, we will transfer back to Beijing.

      Once you've been awestruck, we will pack up and return to Beijing, ready to explore this gigantic city. If you wish, you can join us for a stroll through Tiananmen Square, visit the Forbidden City, and take a walk through Jingshan Park (not included).

      This evening, why not enjoy an acrobatics show? These incredible circus-style performances feature young talents recruited from all over China (not included).

      If you’re hungry, now is your chance to dine like ancient royalty and try Beijing’s signature dish: Peking duck! (not included).

      A completely free day for you to take advantage of and explore on your own.

      You’ll have the opportunity to take a stroll (not included) through Tiananmen Square, located next to the Forbidden City. You can also go to Jingshan Park for a view (not included) of the three palaces: the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, the Summer Palace, and Tiananmen Square.

      In the afternoon, we recommend visiting the Nanluo district, a historic area of Beijing famous for its hutongs and siheyuan courtyards, as well as its bars, cafes, and craft shops (not included).

  • Day 4 Beijing – Overnight Train – Hangzhou

      Enjoy and make the most of a free morning to visit the last points of interest in Beijing before departing.

      You can opt for optional visits (not included) to the modern 798 Art District, stroll through the Summer Palace, or see any other point of interest in the city. Don’t forget to ask your Tour Leader for recommendations.

      In the evening, you’ll head to the train station where you’ll board the overnight train to Hangzhou.

      After arriving in Hangzhou, we will transfer to our hostel.

      Then, we will visit the famous West Lake for a boat ride to one of its islands.

      Once this activity is finished, you’ll have free time to take part in optional activities or simply rest.

      If you want to learn more about China’s commercial history, you can visit the National Tea Museum of China or Lingyin Temple (not included).

      In the afternoon, you will hike Jiuyao Mountain to witness the stunning sunset reflected on West Lake.

      The rest of the day is free. We recommend visiting Hefang Road, the most famous ancient street in the city (not included).

      This morning, start the day with a beautiful hike to the Nine Streams that meander through the Misty Woods. From here, you can enjoy a stunning landscape in the hills of Hangzhou, with paved paths winding along streams and trails leading to beautiful waterfalls and breathtaking scenery.

      Afterward, you’ll return to the hostel to check out. This afternoon, we’ll head to our next stop on the backpacking tour of China: Shanghai! You’ll arrive early in the evening, just in time to explore the local area!

      Later, you’ll have the option to walk to Yu Gardens, a lively historical site that once housed the luxurious family residences of an ancient dignitary (not included). You can also visit People’s Square before heading to the world’s busiest shopping street, Nanjing Road (not included).

      Afterward, you can stroll along the Bund, a hub of global architecture. To finish, head to the top floor of a skyscraper to admire Shanghai’s skyline from a rooftop bar (not included). Enjoy your free afternoon!

      For the more adventurous, you can head to the top of the Jinmao Tower and take on the Skywalk challenge. Or simply go up and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views (not included).

      In the evening, you can admire the city's bright lights from the water with a night cruise on the Huangpu River (not included).
