Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Tunis and transfer to Sousse (140KM)

At the airport, you will be greeted by our representative or our driver who will assist you with any procedure and your transfer to your hotel in Sousse. Spend the rest of the day at leisure then you will have dinner, and later enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 2: Sousse - El Djem - Djerba Island (380KM)

Stop At: Amphitheatre of El Jem, El-Jem Tunisia
After breakfast at the hotel, your driver will pick you up to start the journey by going to the city of El Jem to explore the impressive ruins of the largest colosseum in North Africa. A huge amphitheater which could hold up to 35,000 spectators. You will also visit the museum of El Jem which illustrates the grandeur and extent of imperial Rome.

You will have lunch, Then you will go to the Island of Djerba crossing Gabes then by taking the Discovery Ferry of Djerba which has been a hidden paradise for thousands of years. Muslim, Berber and Jewish communities peacefully coexisted on the island for centuries. The island is home to Africa’s oldest synagogue, whose floors are lined with mats handwoven by local Muslim craftsmen. After that, you will have dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 3: Djerba - Tataouine - Djerba (240KM)

Stop At: Tataouine, Tataouine, Tataouine Governorate
After breakfast, your driver will pick you up to go to Tataouine, a region out of the ordinary landscapes and historical traditions. Known for its old Berber villages clinging to the mountain tops, George Lucas chose Tataouine when he filmed the original Star Wars in Tunisia. You will have lunch and continue your adventure by climbing the ladders and stairs to visit the Ksour. These stairs once allowed people to hoist their harvests into the storage chambers, the Ghorfas. In Chenini and Douiret, the Berber language is still in use today. Local people will show you giant tombs and tell you the legend of the Seven Sleepers; this ancient Mediterranean myth found one of its avatars here.

Day 4: Djerba - Matmata - Douz - Tozeur (330KM)

Stop At: Matmata, Matmata, Gabes Governorate
After early morning breakfast, you will visit the Berber city of Matmata in Southern Tunisia. It is famous for its underground houses and cave dwellers which are cool in summer and comfortably warm in winter. Another thing Matmata is famous for, the Star Wars film sets. Four of the Star Wars movies were partially filmed in Southern Tunisia. (The planet Tatooine in the movies). You can stay in Luke Skywalker’s home (now a hotel) and wander around the desert bumping into moisture vaporators and other Star Wars stuff.

Stop At: Douz, Douz, Kebili Governorate
You will have lunch, then you will visit Douz where people are naturally open and friendly. Douz is a place where dunes and palm trees cover the golden vastness of the desert.

Stop At: Tozeur, Tozeur, Tozeur Governorate
Then you will continue to Tozeur for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Tozeur - The Mountain Oasis (150KM)

Stop At: Chott El Jerid, Entre Tozeur y Blidet, Tozeur 2200 Tunisia
After breakfast, you will cross Chott El Djerid which is the largest salt lake on the African continent. Chott el Djerid is over 1.5 times larger than the Great Salt Lake of Utah. then, you will get in a 4x4 for an off-road adventure. You will arrive at Oung Djemel which is one of the Star Wars movie sets. After that, you will stop at the large Mountain Oasis of Chebika and Tamerza which contains beautiful canyons with palm trees and a waterfall. In the afternoon, you will return to Tozeur for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Tozeur - Kairouan - Tunis (430KM)

After breakfast, you will leave for the Fourth holiest city of Islam (after Mecca, Medina, and Jerusalem), Kairouan. It has the oldest mosque in Africa, The Great Mosque. Kairouan is also a major shopping destination. inside its colorful souks, you will find mesmerizing carpets and souvenirs. You will have lunch in Kairouan then you will continue to the city of Tunis for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Bardo - Medina - Carthage - Sidi Bou Said (50KM)

After breakfast, the driver will pick you up to visit the National Museum of Bardo, which is one of the most important museums in the Mediterranean region and the second largest museum of the African continent. It traces the history of Tunisia over several millennia and across several civilizations through a wide variety of archaeological pieces.

Then you will go discover the Medina of Tunis with its maze of ancient streets and alleyways. It is one of the most impressive medieval medinas in North Africa and one of Tunisia's great treasures. While in Souks, you can find many small souvenirs for your loved ones. You will also have lunch there.

Stop At: Carthage, Carthage, Tunis Governorate
Then, you will visit the archaeological site of Carthage which was founded on the Gulf of Tunis. From the 6th century onwards, it developed into a great trading empire covering much of the Mediterranean and was home to a brilliant civilization. In the course of the long punic wars, Carthage occupied territories belonging to Rome, which finally destroyed its rivals in 146 B.C.
