Accommodation

Standard twin sharing accommodation in a three-star hotel in Kathmandu (2 nights only) including breakfast. Lodges, Guesthouses accommodation during the trek (Mostly on twin sharing basis and occasionally dormitory style).

Tips for the guide, porter, and driver (Tipping is expected) Kathmandu sightseeing monument entrance fees($30 USD per person) Excess baggage more than 10 kg for Lukla flight. Please be advised that if you need to return early from the trek due to reasons such as sickness, unfavorable weather conditions, personal issues, itinerary modifications, or any other unforeseen circumstances, the following conditions apply: - Any payments made for flights, hotel accommodations, mountain room bookings, meals, and related expenses are nonrefundable. - You will be required to cover the costs of hotel stays, meals, and other expenses in Kathmandu independently. Additionally, please note that during the months of March to May and September to November, all flights will depart from Ramechhap. It will be necessary for you to make a 4-5 hour drive from Kathmandu to Ramechhap in order to catch your flight. Kindly consider these terms and arrangements carefully before commencing your trek.   • Day 1 Day 1: Arrival In Kathmandu (1,350 M) & Transfer To Hotel.

      A Sherpa Expedition & Trekking representative will meet you at the airport and take you to our hotel in Thamel. The remainder of the day you will have time to stroll around Thamel and do some last-minute shopping. In the evening your guide will give you a brief introduction and provide valuable information about the trek.   We will also supply you with our trek duffel bag, t-shirt.   For the meeting, please make sure you bring a passport, three passport-size photos, and a readable copy of your travel insurance policy. During this meeting, please clear the due balance if any and sign the legally binding trip form as well as the non-liability disclaimer.

      This morning we will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the domestic terminal of Kathmandu airport for your 35-minute flight to Lukla.  The trek begins along an easily navigated trail passing a Kani (ceremonial gatehouse) before the trail descends and then heads above Kyangma Village - with its large Gompa (monastery). We then continue to Cheplung Village and pass through a community forest close to the Dudh Koshi River. After crossing the suspension bridge we climb over the ridge to Ghat Village passing Mani walls, chortens, and Tibetan Buddhist prayer wheels. A short distance from Ghat we come to Phakding Village.

      This morning we head out on the trail and cross a number of suspension bridges spanning the Dudh Kosi River before passing through Tok-Tok, Benkar, and Monjo and then come to the Sagarmatha National Park entrance gate where you will be asked to buy a trekking permit. After following the river bed for a few hours and crossing the Hillary suspension bridge there is a steep uphill climb to Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar has a good selection of restaurants, an internet cafรฉ, pubs, a post office, ATM, and banks.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Namche Bazaar Acclimatization Day.

      This is the perfect place for "acclimatization". Health specialists strongly recommend we spend the day being active. From Namche, we can take a short hike up to Everest View Resort, Thame, visiting Khunde or mosey around Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is the main commercial center of the Everest (Khumbu) region and has government offices and a colorful market each Friday evening and Saturday morning. Our guide will also take us to the Tourist Visitor Center located very close to the headquarters of the Sagarmatha National Park where we can inspect a collection of relics linked to the first mountaineers to climb Everest, Sherpa cultural artifacts and discover the varied plant and animal life of the Everest region.

      The trail today starts with a steep ascent up from the valley and passes through rhododendron, juniper and large conifer a forest that arouses the senses with their scented aroma. The trail passes through Yak Kharka (meaning grazing pasture for yak) and various Sherpa villages on the way. Throughout the trek we will have some grand views of Khumbu La Pass and Tengboche.

      Today the trail takes us through the valley among juniper forests. On the trail we have unbelievable views of Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Khangtega (6782m) and Mt. Thamserku (6623m). In the afternoon we will arrive at Machhermo Village (4470m) where we will spend the rest of the day exploring the village and surrounding landscape. Tonight we stay at Machhermo.

      This morning head out on the trail and then come to a point where before your eyes is the soaring Mt. Cho Oyu (8281m) โ€“ a real mind-blowing moment.  Further along the trail we come to the gorge at the base of Mt. Khangtega. Also capturing our attention is the massive Ngozumpa Glacier. After stopping for a lunch break we continue to Gokyoโ€™s fifth lake where your camera can capture the stunning turquoise blue water. A gradual ascent from here takes us to Gokyo where we stay the night.

      Today is a more physically challenging day as we climb a steep trail up to the peak of Gokyo RI (5357m). The stunning views will leave you enthralled and camera clicking away to capture the scene. The magnificent views of Gokyo Valley, the massive Ngozumpa Glacier (worldโ€™s highest), incredible panoramic views of the entire Khumbu region, including the towering peaks of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, Cho-Oyu and Gychung Kang (7952m) are simply beyond words. We will then return to the foot of Cho La Pass where we will stay overnight in a dormitory.  

  • Day 9 Day 9: Trek To Lunden (4300M) Via Crossing Renjo La Pass (5340M) Duration 6-7 Hours.

      After an early breakfast we will climb to the highest point on this trek, Gokyo Ri (5333m), and enjoy the spectacular view of the colossal Ngozumpa Glacier, upper Gokyo Valley and the unbelievable beauty of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Nuptse, Cho-Oyu, and Gychung Kang The next leg of our trek takes us up and over Renjo La Pass at (5345m) after which we head down to Lungden Village (4,350m) for the night.

      Today we follow the trail to Thame (3800m) where we will visit the famous Thame monastery and observe the calming and enchanting Buddhist prayers of the monks. We can also experience the Sherpa hospitality, traditions and culture of the local people here in Thame. Thame is also the hometown of Apa Sherpa who has made it to the summit of Everest 21 times. Tonight we will stay at Thame and ready ourselves for tomorrowโ€™s descent back to Namche Bazaar.

      The trail today heads through a number of villages including Khumjung, and on the trail we will have the mountains behind us as we continue on to the famous Buddhist town of Namche Bazaar, alive with its abundance of Sherpa culture and a vibrant atmosphere, and place where trekkers rest and share their stories.

      This is our final day on the trail as we return to our starting point at Lukla. This is a time to look back on this amazing journey and breathe a sigh of relief and completion. The afternoon is free for you to do whatever you please, whether it be a hot shower or a few drinks at a bar.

      To avoid strong winds that are common in the afternoons we take an early morning flight back to Kathmandu. From up high we can gaze down on the immense Himalayan Mountains and reflect on our adventure into these same mountains.

      Today is a rest day where you can attend to emails, laundry, a massage or stroll around Thamel to buy some last minute souvenirs. You can also choose to visit the Garden of Dreams to relax. This day is spare due to the uncertainty of flights from Lukla due to poor weather conditions.

      Today, after successfully completing your trek to Gokyo Renjo La Pass with Sherpa Expedition and Trekking, we will take you to the airport at least three hours prior to your scheduled departure time. On your journey home you may already be contemplating a return to Nepal for a new adventure into the amazing Himalayan Mountains.
