  • Day 1 Day 1: Arrive At Kathmandu And Transfer To Hotel.

      On arriving at Kathmandu Airport you will be met by a representative from Sherpa Expedition and Trekking and taken to your hotel followed by a short briefing concerning your trek. In the evening we will provide a welcome dinner where you will meet your guide and other trekkers. 

  • Day 2 Day 2: Drive To Syabrubensi (1,400M ) Duration 6-7 Hours.

      Today we set off on a seven-hour road trip to Langtang Valley. The road climbs out of Kathmandu Valley and at the top of the hill we will have views of the Annapurna Mountains in the west and directly ahead to Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and other numerous peaks in the Langtang region.  We will first come to Trishuli Village and then continue climbing until we reach Dhunche and enter the Langtang National Park. After leaving Dhunche we drive for another hour downhill until we arrive at Syabru Besi where we stay the night.

      This morning we cross the Bhote Kosi (meaning Tibet River) which flows all the way from Tibet. The trail then climbs through sub-tropical forest and soon after joins the trail coming from Syabru Besi. We then head up through oak and rhododendron forests. On the trail, it is possible that we will come upon Langur monkeys in the treetops. The trail continues up a steep hill before arriving at Lama Hotel where we stay the night.

      This morning we head to Ghode Tabala from where we will have our first views of the colossal Mt. Langtang Lirung (7227m). The trail heads through a rhododendron forest โ€“ more spectacular during spring when it is in full pink bloom. There is also a national park office here. We continue on the trail until we arrive at Langtang Village (3450m) where we will stay the night.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Trek To Kyanjin Gompa (3870M) Duration 4-5 Hours.

      We have an easy trek today that slowly gains altitude which means we will have to walk a bit slower. The trail is not too difficult and will allow you more time to admire the valley and mountain scenery. We finally come to Kyanjin Gompa in the afternoon. If you have the energy you may decide to trek up to Mt. Kyanjin Ri (4779m) and then return back to the hotel for the night.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Hike Up To Kyanjin Ri Or Tsergo Ri (5,033M) Duration 5-6 Hours.

      Today we trek up to Tsergo Ri which will help us to acclimatize to these higher altitudes. At five thousand meters we have some fantastic panoramic view of the Himalayan Mountains. This trek is physically challenging and how long it takes to get to the summit will depend on your level of fitness and experience. We will be back at Kyanjin Gompa in the evening.

  • Day 7 Day 7: Trek To Kyanjin Phedi (4,300M ) Duration 5-6 Hours.

      This morning we start out on our four to five-hour trek to Ganja La Phedi. We will cross the Langtang River and then ascend through the rhododendrons forest. During the winter months, it may take us longer to cross the pass. We will stay overnight at Kyanjin Phedi.

      We have a long and tiring day ahead of us as we head to Ganja La Pass. It is covered with snow year-round. On the way we pass several small lakes before arriving at the top of Ganja La Pass situated on a rocky moraine. From the pass we have spectacular views and will descend to Keldang for the night.

      This morning we head down the ridge and then follow the trail through the forest and grazing land before arriving at Yak Kharka where we will stay overnight. As the name suggests, this is a grazing land for yak.

      The trail today descends 1500 meters and along the trail you will notice the changes in the type of vegetation, from being more arid to more lush forested areas. Tonight we will stay at Tarke Gang.

  • Day 11 Day 11: Trek To Sermathang (2,610M) Duration 6-7 Hours.

      This morning we head out on the trail to Sermathang Village. On the trail you will see many icons and evidence of the Sherpa culture, such as Mani stones, monasteries and the ever-present Tibetan prayer flags. The trail heads through more dense forests before arriving at Sermathang Village where we will stay the night.

  • Day 12 Day 12: Trek To Melamchi And Drive To Kathmandu (1,350M) Duration 6-7 Hours.

      On the last day of the trek we head to Melamchi Bazaar. On the trail we pass many villages each with their unique traditions and culture. We will stop for a lunch break at Melamchi and then drive to Kathmandu where you will be taken to your respective hotels in Thamel.

      Today your adventure ends and you depart Nepal with many lasting memories and photos of spectacular scenes from your trek to this region of the Himalayas. A representative from Sherpa Expedition and Trekking will take you to the airport approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. On your way home youโ€™ll have time to plan your next adventure into the Himalayan Mountains.
