Itinerary of your trip Gokyo Lake Trekking

  • Day 1 Fly To Lukla (2840M) And Trek To Phakding (2610M)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Fly To Lukla (2840M) And Trek To Phakding (2610M)

Youโ€™ll start by flying to Lukla Airport in Solukhumbu. The flight takes you over the Himalayas, providing a breathtaking panoramic view of the Himalayas, including the famous Mt. Everest, which stands tall with its snow-clad peak in all its glory. As the flight continues, you can feel Mt. Everest growing on you. Landing on the landing strip is a thrilling experience that is not for the faint of heart. The plane will appear unbalanced and shaky during landing due to the aggressive turning and tossing required to maneuver it onto the small landing strip. The altitude will hit you the moment you step off the plane.

From Lukla, you will begin your trek along the Dudh Koshi (Milk River), which can be seen spiraling into the distance. You will be trekking through a rhododendron forest with a strong aroma of evergreen oak. The sight of snowy peaks signals that the trek will gradually become more difficult and marks the start of an adventure that will test oneโ€™s mental and physical strength.

Accommodation: an overnight in an available lodge in Phakding.

  • Day 2 Phakding To Namche Bazaar (3480M) (5-6 Hours)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Phakding To Namche Bazaar (3480M) (5-6 Hours)

The trail will start out relatively easy but will gradually become more difficult. You will catch your first glimpse of Everest as you cross the mighty Dudh Koshi. The trail will lead you to Monjo, where you can stop for lunch. The next section of the trail will be more difficult. As we approach Namche, the trail becomes steeper and higher in altitude, causing shortness of breath. One should not rush but rather move slowly and steadily.

Youโ€™ll be stopping at Namche Bazaar for the night. It is bustling with activity, and people from the Solukhumbu region congregate there to conduct business. There are shops, restaurants, hotels, a bank, and internet services to help you stay in touch with your loved ones back home. Namche Bazaar provides an interesting glimpse into how the people in the region live.

Most trekkers prefer to wake up before sunrise to take in the breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, and other magnificent peaks from the Sagarmatha National Park Headquarters, which is located on the east side of town and includes a museum. One can see the mountainsโ€™ shadows projected onto the clouds above and truly appreciate their magnitude. Try the salt-butter tea and champa, a kind of barley that is one of the main energy supplements and is often eaten by the sherpas in the area. The lively cultural Saturday market is worth a visit, and itโ€™s usually packed with traders desperate to sell their wares.

This village is located at the base of the sacred peak, Khumbila. The monastery, founded around 340 years ago, is the head of a Yeti, also known as the Abominable Snowman. It is a nice place to stay for the night. It is a famous place for Edmund Hillaryโ€™s lovers.
