Accommodation

Standard twin sharing accommodation in a three-star hotel in Kathmandu (2 nights only) including breakfast. Home-stay accommodation during the trek.

  • Day 1 Day 1: Arrival In Kathmandu & Transfer To Hotel.
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 1: Arrival In Kathmandu & Transfer To Hotel.

      On arrival at Kathmandu airport, you will be met by a representative from Sherpa Expedition & Trekking who will take you to your 3-star hotels in Thamel. You can relax at your hotel or stroll around Thamel, the tourist hub of Kathmandu, and do some last-minute shopping.  

  • Day 2 Day 2: Drive From Kathmandu To Jhapre.

      Day 2: Drive From Kathmandu To Jhapre.

      The first leg of our journey takes us by road from Kathmandu to Dhap Bazaar. We then follow the trail along the banks of the Sunkoshi River until we arrive at Ghurmi Village. Along the way, you can relax and admire the frequently changing Nepali countryside of dense forests, terraced rice fields, and numerous raging rivers. We eventually reach Dhap Bazaar from where we continue on to Jhapre where we can watch Tibetan Buddhist rituals performed at the Buddhist monastery.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Trek From Jhapre To Pikey Peak Base Camp.

      Day 3: Trek From Jhapre To Pikey Peak Base Camp.

      Today we trek to Pikey Base Camp, the second-highest point of the trek, and on the trail, we pass Mani stones (engraved in Sanskrit), stupas, and ancient Buddhist monasteries.  

  • Day 4 Day 4: Trek From Pikey Peak To Loding.

      The trail today is mostly uphill but does provide some more open views of the mountains. The trail passes through rhododendron forest before coming to Jase Bhanjyang where we will stay the night.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Trek From Loding To Junbesi.

      Day 5: Trek From Loding To Junbesi.

      This morning we can capture the sunrise views of Numbur Himal and will then head to Thupten Choling Gompa. After crossing the Junbesi River we head uphill to Junbesi for our overnight stay.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Trek From Junbesi To Taksindu.

      Day 6: Trek From Junbesi To Taksindu.

      Today we will follow the trail across the Takasindu La Pass, one of the main passes which take you through to the Dudh Koshi Valley. Along the way, we will stop at a teahouse for refreshments. The trail starts to descend to Takasindu with its own Buddhist monastery to explore.

  • Day 7 Day 7: Trek From Taksindu To Phaplu.

      After a four-hour trek slowly heading uphill we will arrive at Phaplu. 

  • Day 8 Day 8: Drive From Phaplu To Kathmandu.

      Today we say farewell to the mountains and head by road back to Kathmandu. The road takes us from the Solu Khumbu region and then across Sun Kosi River and then on to the Kathmandu valley.

  • Day 9 Day 9: Final Departure From Kathmandu.

      A representative from Sherpa Expedition and Trekking will take you to the airport at least three hours prior to your scheduled departure. We look forward to seeing you again and will be ready to advise you on your next adventure into this amazing country.
