      Embark the great journey with Complete the essential requirements for Adventure South Kanchenjunga Trek-like Permits, Trekking Gears, First- Aid box, Backpack, etc. Afterward, we transfer to the Airport by private car for the flight to Bhadrapur. However, the flight schedule after 45 min scenic flight, land us at Bhadrapur, free time explore around and stay overnight at Bhadrapur.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Bhadrapur To Taplejung (1820M) โ€“ 10 Hours

      Day 2: Bhadrapur To Taplejung (1820M) โ€“ 10 Hours

      Bhadrapur is a developed town in the Jhapa district of Western Nepal. From Bhadrapur, the highway leads us through the pleasant tea-gardens and paddy fields (in the right season) towards the Taplejung via Paachthar and Illam. During this 8-9 hour of drive, you will experience 3 different weather conditions: hot, cold, and very cold (snowy). This is a wonderful experience as you could see the landscapes changing from flat land, to verdant hills and finally the rocky terrain.


      In Ilam, you may hold to catch the local taste of milk products such as curd, ghee, butter, and Churpi (traditionally made hard-cheese). As you leave Ilam, the views start to grow beautiful- with sheer glimpses of Kanchenjunga and Makalu in the northern skyline. By the time you arrive at Taplejung, it would have been night. So, you will not get the time to explore Taplejung.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Taplejung To Tembawa(1880 M)-5/6 Hours

      On the third day of Kanchengunja South Trek, Our trekking expedition begins a journey from Taplejung to Tembawa. The first stage of the trail moderately follows the unfinished dirt road along a rhododendron filled hill known as Surke danda (2580m). At the top of the ridge, a side trail branches north direction the well-regarded Pathibhara temple. Afterward, the journey is descending to Lali Kharka (2220m) along the breathtaking forest, the trail contentious descending through terrace fields to Tembawa (1880m). So, Such a Beautiful Limbu Village will be our overnight.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Tembawa To Khesewa (1960M)-5/6 Hours

      Day 4: Tembawa To Khesewa (1960M)-5/6 Hours

      On the Fourth day of the Kanchenjunga South Base Camp Trek, our plan is to reach Khesewa overnight from Tembawa, which takes nearly 5 to 6 hours. Trek Stat from Tembawa up to the ridge, and then drop down steeply through the villages of Shimu and Pokara respectively. Afterwards, the trail crosses the suspension bridge at Pawa Khola (1430m) and climbs to the next village called Kunjari (1700m). Sinchebu Bhanjyang (2240m) is a Gurung village that has several bhattis and you will catch the first snowy caps of Kanchenjunga and Kyabru (7412m). Look out for the peg-like summit of Jannu (Khumbakarna: 7710m) to the west of the main ridge. Continue over the pass into the valley of the Kabeli Khola, then turn left and descend below the ridge to the village of Khesewa(1960m) where we goanna stays overnight.

      On the fifth day of Kanchenjunga South Base Camp trek, from Khesewa we are heading to Mamank (1780m), it takes 6/7 hours. The trail began to descend to the waterfall and Nadewa Khola then Yangpang, where we find some tea shop. The path climbs though forests past a large waterfall and ridge at 1850m. After 30 min walk, we will reach Phumphe (1780m). Continuous to descend the trail along past rice terrace to a sinuous suspension bridge over the Khaksewa Khola at 1540m. At the end of trail, irritation climbs to Mamanke (1780m). This is a prosperous Limbu Village that offers Teahouse. Stay overnight at Mamanke.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Mamank To Yamphudin (1690M) โ€“ ยพ Hours

      After Breakfast, we are heading to Yamphudin from Mamank, it takes 3 to 4 hours, one of the short days during the excursion. Heading north along the Kabeli Khola Start climbing to the ridge and slowly descend to gushing steam, crossing the river. After the up and down we will reach Kabeli Khola and follow the west bank upstream to Yamphudin (1690m). Stay overnight at Tea house.

      Another Short day starts after breakfast in Yamphudin. This is a diverse village of Gurung, Rai, Limbu and Sherpa peoples. You may be asked to register your TIMS (Trekkerโ€™s Information Management System) card at the police post and show your conservation permit at the Kanchenjunga Conservation areas check post. Start the day by crossing to the east bank on inventing bridge and began the steep climb between the Amji Khola and Kabeli Khola ridge. The journey leads by terrace fields to Darachuk and continues to climb to Dhupi Bhajyang (2540m). Afterwards, the trail gradually descends through Forest to Amji Khola(2340m). Stay overnight at Amji Khola on the seventh day of Kanchenjunga South Trek.

Start the day by crossing to the east bank on inventing bridge and began the steep climb between the Amji Khola and Kabeli Khola ridge. The journey leads by terrace fields to Darachuk and continues to climb to Dhupi Bhajyang (2540m). Afterward trail graduals descend through Forest to Amji Khola(2340m). Stay overnight at Amji Khola on the seventh day of Kanchenjunga South Trek.

      Today is a special day for Kanchenjunga South Trek. We are reaching our destination point known as Kanchenjunga South Base Camp (4620m) within a 2/3 hour walk from Tseram. The trail began with treeline to Mirgin La above a Mani wall at 4040m, an alpine meadow slope up the valley towards the peaks of Rathoung (6678m) and Kubru Dome (6700m). We are now inside the mountain close to glaciers in the alpine meadow. The trail is passing through Yalung Glacier to a yak Pasture at Yalung Bara (4260m). To finish the day keep climbing to Lapsang Lake (4430m) and continue to the flat Himalayan moraine valley into the Ramche (4620m). Stay overnight at the teahouse.

      From Ramche, it is time to descend towards Tortong. We will walk down the same trail that we ventured on earlier until Tsheran. Then, the trail runs over the ridge where hemlock trees accompany it for a short time. The ravine then appears at Yamgachha Khola which marks the further way ahead. The trail goes through the idyllic forests covered by juniper, larch and rhododendron trees through the Anda Phedi, which is one of the rewarding stops to engage in the natural vivacity for a while. This interesting ride puts a halt when we arrive at Tortong after long hours.

      It is a pleasant day with clear views of Jannu peak in the skyline. The trail descends and ascends several times through the river valleys and deep ravines until making an appearance at Yamphudin. When we reach Lasiya Bhanjhyang, the hospitality shown by the Sherpa family is truly commendable. They seem to be very humble and diligent. Many campers wish to pitch their tent in this region, but the limited water supply discourages many groups to camp here. The waterfalls and following rocky stairs truly inspire to conquer great things ahead. There is a beautiful monastery at the Yamphuddin that remains closed most of the time.

      The track from Yamphudin to Khebang is quite strange. Most of the time, we will have to walk along the unhabituated region where barely there are any settlements to see. There are several ascends that you may not have expected at this altitude. It is indeed a strenuous task to conquer those uphills. There are various stone steps to cross. By the time, we arrive close to the Khebang, the agricultural farm fields begin to appear.

      From Khebang, the trail goes along the pleasant forest fenced by prayer flags and chortens on both sides. It is a colourful day as you get to encounter many monasteries and temples on the way, which are adorned with vibrant colours. In a radius of a few kilometres, there is a Pathivara Temple which is considered to be one of the holiest temples of the Hindus. Once we arrive at the Kamdime, we can catch a short walk around the village.

  • Day 15 Day 15: Kamdime To Birtamod By Drive And Overnight In Birtamod. (8-9 Hrs)

      Finally, we will catch a drive back to the Birtamod along the same trail that we ventured on earlier. It is a pleasant drive along with the tea gardens and paddy fields fencing the highway. Upon arriving at Birtamod, we will check in to our hotel where we will spend our overnight.

  • Day 16 Day 16: Drive To Bhadrapur(45 Minutes) Then Fly Back In Kathmandu.

      Within an hour drive from the Birtamod, we will arrive at Bhadrapur from where we will catch a flight to Kathmandu. It takes around 45 mins to arrive at Kathmandu from Bhadrapur.
