Itinerary of your trip 16 Days Annapurna Base Camp Trek

  • Day 1 Day 1: Arrival In Kathmandu (1,350M) & Transfer To Hotel.

      Our representative will be there to meet you at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu and will take you to your respective hotel in Thamel.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Guided Sightseeing In The Kathmandu Valley.

      Today we head out on a tour of Kathmandu city and visit four major UNESCO World Heritage sites: the amazing Swayambhunath and Bouddhanath stupas, the Hindu temple complex of Pashupatinath, and the world-renowned Kathmandu Durbar Square. Once back at your hotel in Thamel you will have time to do some last minute shopping before heading out on the trek.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Drive From Kathmandu To Pokhara (900 M) 6-7 Hours.

      We will pick you up from your hotel at 6:30 am and take you to the tourist bus station from where the bus to Pokhara leaves at around 7:30 am. Pokharaโ€™s main feature is Phewa Tal (lake) from where you will have panoramic views of Annapurna and Machapuchare (Fishtail) in the north, Dhaulagiri in the west and Lamjung Himal and Manaslu in the east.

      Today we head by private vehicle to Nayapul and then hit the trail and follow the banks of the Modi Khola (river) until we reach Birethanti Village (1,015m). We will then trek along the north bank of the Burundi Khola before ascending up through the valley to Hille (1,495m). Not long after we come to Tikhedhunga (1,570m). The dayโ€™s trek is not too exhausting and is a relatively easy. Tonight we will stay at a guesthouse.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Trek To Ghorepani (2,840 M) 6-7 Hours.

      This morning we have a steep ascent to the Magar village of Ulleri (2,070m). From here we again climb higher through rhododendron and oak forests until arriving at Banthanti (2,250m) and then continue to Nangethanti (2,460m). One more hour on the trail and we finally arrive at Ghorepani (2,840m) where we will stay overnight at a guesthouse.

      Before daybreak we head to Poon Hill (3,210m) to capture the rising sun as it reflects off the snowy Himalayan peaks. The views are stunning and will have your camera frantically snapping shots of the changing light over the mountains. We will stay for about 1 hour and then head back down to Ghorepani for breakfast. Leaving Ghorepani we climb along ridges and through pine and rhododendron forests until we come to Deurali (2,960 m), Banthanti and then turn off this trail and head to Tadapani for the night.

      Today we will follow the trail alongside the Kimrong River to Chomrong (2020m), all the while enjoying the views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli Peak as well as the striking Mt. Machapuchare.

      The trail begins by heading down to Chomrong Khola and then ascends to Khuldighar (2,380m) where there used to be an ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area) checkpoint. A little further on we come to a clearing in the forest at which point the trail descends steeply down a rock bank, levels out, and then passes through a bamboo grove at the bottom of the gorge. From here we clamber up some steep stone stairs until we come to Dovan.

      Today, we trek up through the rhododendron forest along the banks of the Modi Khola (river) to Himalaya Hotel (2,920m) stopping for a lunch break along the way. We will also stop at Hinku Cave which used to be a storage depot and camp for the earlier Annapurna I expeditions. We then trek uphill along the jungle trail until we come to Deurali (3,200 m).

      Today we head up to (ABC) along a trail that is often covered in snow โ€“ depending on the season. From ABC you have astonishing views of Annapurna I (8091m). ABC has several teahouses where we can stop for a break and take in the superb views of Annapurna I, Annapurna South (7219m), Barah Shikhar (7800m) and Machapuchare (Fish tail).

  • Day 11 Day 11: Trek To Bamboo (2345 M) 5-6 Hours.

      Today we retrace our footsteps and drop 1,700 meters to the bank of Modi Khola and then on to Bamboo at 2,345 meters where there are a few teahouse/lodges where we can stay the night.

  • Day 12 Day 12: Trek To Jhinu (1,780 M) 6-7 Hours.

      We once again retrace our footsteps and head to Chomrong. Just past Khuldighar there is an experimental sheep farm. The trail then heads through rhododendron and bamboo fields and descends very steeply to the Jhinu where we can bath in the therapeutic natural hot springs and rest our weary muscles.

  • Day 13 Day 13: Trek To Nayapul (1,010 M) & Drive To Pokhara (9,00M) 5-6 Hours.

      From Jhinu we trek alongside the Modi Khola for 4.5 hrs to Birethanti which is said by trekkers to be one of the most enjoyable trails of the entire trek. We then reach Nayapul and from here drive back to Pokhara.


  • Day 14 Day 14: Guided Sightseeing In Pokhara.

      This morning we begin our full day sightseeing tour of Pokhara city with our guide and a private tourist vehicle. You will visit the following sites: Bindabasini Temple, Davis Fall, Gupteshwor Cave, Seti River Gorges, Tibetan Refugee Camps and the World Peace Pagoda high on a hill on the other side of the lake.

  • Day 15 Day 15: Drive Back To Kathmandu (1,400 M) 6-7 Hours.

      This morning we will head back to Kathmandu. If you are interested in extending your trip you may wish to consider the Chitwan jungle safari, river rafting adventure, Kathmandu shopping tour, white water rafting and canoeing, mountain biking and other activities. This is your opportunity to say farewell to your fellow trekkers and guide.

  • Day 16 Day 16: Transfer To The International Airport For Your Final Departure

      Today is your last day in Nepal and a representative from Sherpa Expedition & Trekking will drop you at the international airport in Kathmandu at least three hours prior to your departure. On your flight home, you will have plenty of time to consider another adventure โ€“ maybe with a group of friends โ€“ to this amazing mountainous country.
