Transport

Airport and Hotel pick up and drop off with our private vehicle. Kathmandu to Sotikhola transportation by local bus, Dharapani to Beshisahar by sharing Jeep and Beshisahar to Kathmandu transportation by Local Bus.

2 nightsโ€™ standard accommodation in 3-star hotel in Kathmandu on a twin sharing basis including breakfasts. All Accommodation during Trekking (guest House/lodge)

  • Day 1 Day 1: Drive From Kathmandu To Soti Khola Via Arughat (710 M / 2,328 Ft) Duration 6-8 Hours.

      At around 5:30 am your guide will pick you up from your hotel for our 8 hour road trip to Soti Khola. The first four hours are on sealed roads, but after Dhading Bensi (1050m) the road is unsealed and a bit rough as we head to Arughat and Soti Khola, the district headquarters of Dhading district. Tonight we will stay at a guesthouse.

      Today we trek through the woods and head upriver along the banks of the Budhi Gandaki River, and then continue down to the riverbed and along a path across the mountains where we can expect to have frequent views down to the river below. Tonight we will stay at a guesthouse at Machha Khola.

      After crossing the Machha River and then pass Khorlabesi (920m) we arrive at Tatopani, famous for its hot springs. The trail then heads through a forested area as we make our way to the Dovan Khola (river) and to the Budhi Gandaki Valley. As we trek higher you will be aware of the change in the vegetation right up until we arrive at Jagat Village where we will stay at a guesthouse overnight.

      We follow the trail leading through the valley to Sirdibas where there are great views of Shringi Himal. After crossing a suspension bridge there is a steep climb to Philim, with waterfalls cascading down from the mountains on both sides of the valley. The next village we come to is Ekle Bhatti and then Pewa Village as we continue heading up through the valley until we come to Deng Village where we will stay overnight at a guesthouse.

      This morning we have a steep climb and then have to head back down to the Budi Gandaki River. We follow the trail passing through the valley and several small settlements. As we get nearer to Namrung you will observe Mani stones (stones with carved with Tibetan mantras) signifying you are getting further into territory occupied by Tibetan Buddhists. In the afternoon we will take a short detour to Prok village (2 hour round trip) and then head back to Namrung for our overnight stay at a guesthouse.

      You will have a feeling of stepping back in time today as we walk between the Mani stone walls of Lho Village. From Lho we can see the snow-covered peak of Ngadi Chuli (7871m aka Peak 29). Another short detour will take us up to the Pungen Glacier from where we have a close-up view of Mt. Manaslu. We will stay overnight at a guesthouse in Samagaun. 

  • Day 7 Day 7: Exploration And Acclimatization Day At Samagaon.

      Day 7: Exploration And Acclimatization Day At Samagaon.

      The main purpose today is to acclimatize before heading to higher altitudes. Health professionals strongly recommend that you stay active during the day to better advance the process. Today we have an option of either a full day or a half day trek. The full day trek will take you to Manaslu Base Camp (4750m), a 6 to 7 hour return journey, or the half day trek that will take you to a glacier directly across the valley, or to Birendra Ta. Tonight we will stay at a guesthouse at Samagaun.

      Today we trek across the pastures and then descend to the valley below with some great views of the surrounding peaks on the trail - especially Mt. Manaslu. We next come to the remote and out-of-the-way Tibetan refugee village of Samdo, only close to the Tibetan border. The afternoon is free for you to wander around the village and nearby countryside.  Tonight we will stay at a guesthouse in Samdo.

  • Day 9 Day 9: Acclimatization Day At Samdo.

      Day 9: Acclimatization Day At Samdo.

      Today is another acclimatization day and in a village, as quaint as Samdo it is an enjoyable experience. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and ideal for a short trek to Samdo Peak to help you better acclimatize. It is also not far from the Tibetan border (5,100m) which is also an ideal trek. Heading along the trail to the border, a 10-hour return trek, you will have some amazing views of Mt. Manaslu as well as Simrang, Hiunchuli, Ngadi, Larkya Peak, Cheo, and Kang Guru. It is likely that on the trail you will see Nepalโ€™s national bird โ€“ the pheasant. 

  • Day 10 Day 10: Samdo To Larke Phedi (Dharmasala) (4,460 M/ 14,629 Ft) Duration 4-5 Hours.

      Today we will have to cross several rivers before arriving at Larkya Bazaar, a village that exists as a trading post for traders coming down from Tibet. From here we have to climb up a steep trail until we come to Dharamsala where we will stay overnight in a guesthouse. 

  • Day 11 Day 11: Dharmasala To Bimthang Via Larke La Pass (5,160 M) Duration 8-9 Hours.

      We have a long hard day ahead of us as we take the trail via Larkya La Pass (5106m/17,121 ft) to Bhimthang. We first must climb to Cho Chanda and then will continue up to the steep snow-covered pass. The views of many surrounding peaks are truly phenomenal. The Himalayan mountains of Himlung Himal (7126m), Cheo Himal (6820m), Gyaji Kung (7030m), Kang Koru (698m) and Annapurna II (7937m) are clearly visible from the pass. We then head down a steep trail and cross moraines until we come to Bhimthang Village where we will stay at a guesthouse overnight. 

  • Day 12 Day 12: Bimthang To Tilije/Goa (1,700 M / 5,576 Ft) Duration 5-6 Hours.

      This morning we follow the trail downhill through a low alpine forest. It can be hard on your knees going downhill.


      We are now in the Annapurna Conservation area and close to the Annapurna circuit route where our trek is close to coming to an end.

      This is our last day on trekking through the Manaslu region. We will cross the Dudh Khola (river) and take a local jeep to Besisahar and then back to Kathmandu.
