    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 1: Arrival In Kathmandu (1,300M/4,264Ft)

There are only two ways to enter Nepal, its either by surface or by air; weโ€™re are a landlocked country and thereโ€™s no sea route. Whichever entry you make, overland through the border or by air, the excitement builds up right from the beginning; the moment you enter the country. The culture, the temples, stray cows set free and the smiling faces of a mix of different communities gets you set for a thrilling journey.

If youโ€™re jetting in, the moment your plane enters Nepalโ€™s air space, you get your first glimpse of the mountains right from the window of your plane and this sets of a whole chain of thrilling events to a vacation well enjoyed. On arrival at the airport, a representative from Unique Adventure Internationalโ€˜s office will be on standby to meet and greet you and escort you to your hotel. Depending on the time you arrive, you will have time to relax and refresh. In the evening, our senior guide will meet you at your hotel and give you an orientation about your program. You can then have dinner and next go for a walk down the street to get familiar with your surroundings. Your first overnight at your hotel in the ancient valley of temples โ€“ Kathmandu, probably the most on earth.

After an early breakfast, we go for an early morning flight to Pokhara, the beautiful lake city and get grand views of the Himalayas and some famous peaks from the windows of our airplane. After hitting the tarmac of Pokhara airport, we drive to Naya Pul (1 hour and 20 minutes) and begin our trek. From Birethanti, we trek to Ghandruk, a beautiful village mostly inhabited by the Gurung ethnic community. Our trails go along a range of small communities like Chimrong, Chane, and Syauli Bazaar villages. After crossing an airy suspension bridge above Khumnu Khola, we will arrive at Ghandruk, a settlement where we can see stone houses inhabited by the Gurung people. Remarkably close towering views of Annapurna South, Fishtail and Himchuli peaks will enthrall us to the core. If time permits, we will also visit the Gurung museum today. We haul up overnight in Ghandruk.

We then ascend to the Hinko Cave, a hanging rock. Hiking further on we arrive at the pretty village of Deurali.

Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Himchuli, Annapurna III and surely, the Machhapuchhre itself leaves us gasping for breath with its sheer beauty. This is where you get to know how your limbs and lungs are working.  We note how the vegetation vanishes as we clamber up to ABC and the path widens as we enter the Annapurna sanctuary. From here on, we get astounding views of the near-vertical south face of Annapurna towering above us. The sanctuary gives us breathtaking views without any obstacles of the stunning 360-degree landscapes. From the base camp we again get to relish compelling views of the Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Hiunchuli and other well known peaks. We spend the night at Annapurna Base Camp.
