Itinerary

Day 1: A Hearty Welcome

Stop At: Pokoasi, Ghana
Day 1: You will arrive in Accra, Ghana at the Kotoka International Airport and be warmly welcomed by our team.
After a leisurely drive through Accra to the outskirts of town, you will be greeted with a Welcome Meal of local vegetarian dishes and natural juices from our onsite Vegan Cafe.
Finally, we will have a group orientation where the next few days will be explained.

Day 2: Odumase, Eastern Region

Stop At: Odumase, Odumase, Brong-Ahafo Region
Day 2: Feeling artistic and adventurous?! After a sumptuous breakfast, we will make an early start so that you can try a psychedelic glass blowing workshop in the rural town of Odumase. You will drive out of Accra, and into the heartlands of Ghanaโ€™s Eastern Region, past dense forests, working farms and villages. Enjoy a traditional lunch, perhaps of Fufu or Banku, then on to the workshops of local craftspeople of Odumase where you will choose your own colours and designs and learn the traditional art form of blown glass.

Day 3: Kwabenya / Pokoasi

Stop At: Kwabenya, Kwabenya, Greater Accra
Day 3- Today you will dance! The drums of the Kwabenya Royal Dancers will set the rhythm and you will learn the dances and drumming of the Ga people in the traditional townships of Kwabenya/Pokoasi. You will also eat local dishes, and drink the popular โ€˜Palm Wineโ€™ either fresh or fermented as you request; then in the evening, you will โ€˜Jamโ€™ with reggae recording artists in a jumping studio scene!

Day 4: Krokrobite Fishing Villages

Stop At: Kokrobite Beach, Tuba, Accra Ghana
Day 4- After your โ€˜dance intensive work outโ€™ the day before, today you will enjoy some โ€˜beach lifeโ€™! Following a leisurely breakfast, we will take you to the ocean front. After taking a short boat ride to an exclusive beach just off the coast, you will learn beading & crafts in the Kokrobite fishing villages; as night falls, you will get to taste the Reggae vibes on the beach with a night of evening entertainment, possibly live local bands or a Reggae DJ โ€˜niceing upโ€™ the area with a selection of raw reggae and Dub tunes.

Day 5: Aburi Craft Village

Stop At: Aburi, Aburi, Eastern Region
Day 5- Today, you will try your hand at Wood Carving and Batik or Tie & Dye in the Eastern Regionโ€™s Aburi Craft Village. Aburi is located in the picturesque Akropong Hills of the Eastern Region, and is home to Rita Marley. Here you will do some wood carving and make local crafts at the carver's village; then you will move further up the hills to explore the stunning Aburi Botanical Gardens while grounds keepers explain the medicinal uses of these tropical plants. Talk with locals and learn the history of the area, including the Jamaican influence in education and religion. Then, spend an evening night-clubbing with local people, learning the latest moves and grooves, and making friends.

Day 6: Ghana's Cocoa Capital: Nswam

Stop At: Nsawam, Nsawam, Eastern Region
Day 6- Farmers rise early to work before the sunโ€™s heat rises. But you will join our organic farming family for a day of local activities in their magic hideaway on the outskirts of the Cocoa Capital of Ghana, Nsawam. Here you will take part in the daily arts of subsistence Organic Farming, Creative Weaving and Traditional Cooking; then as the sun sets, you will join the chants in African Storytelling around the nightโ€™s bonfire.

Day 7: Guided Tour Of Accra

Stop At: Accra, Accra, Greater Accra
Day 7- On your final day of โ€˜Guided Touringโ€™ you will visit a selection of Accraโ€™s renowned art galleries, have an exclusive buffet lunch in a premier Hotel; before enjoying a unique tour of Accra at night, taking in the historic streets of Accra, through Jamestown and its surrounds, including the Independence Square, and Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Gardens. This is when Accra really comes alive and there are many local spots for eating, drinking and dancing, and you might find yourself taking part in an evening of โ€˜Spoken Wordโ€™!

Day 8: Optional Tour to Cape Coast

Stop At: Cape Coast, Cape Coast, Central Region
Day 8: Explore the spiritual culture of the Central Region-with its shrines, unique traditions and history. Return to the past and visit the slave dungeons of Cape Coast and Elmina Castle, overlooking the raging Atlantic seas. Join healing rituals and seek guidance from 'Seers'. A memorable and transformative experience.

You might finish recording your album, get inspiration to complete those sketches or just catch up on those late nights! Whatever you choose, this is your time to relax or explore solo, feel the vibes of Ghana, and plan your next visit..!
Alternatively, jump into the heart of your host community and share your creative skills and passion as a volunteer at a local school or business: "Leave your footprints in the sands of time".
