Itinerary

Day 1: DUBAI - ARRIVAL

Pass By: Dubai, Dubai, Emirate of Dubai
Arrival at Muscat International airport, after visa and immigration formalities our representative will meet and escort the guests to waiting air-conditioned vehicle for transfer to hotel. Overnight in Muscat.

Day 2: MUSCAT - NIZWA

Stop At: Muscat, Muscat, Muscat Governorate
Breakfast at the hotel , check out and then depart to visit the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque that has a remarkable architectural achievement. As a contemporary place of worship it serves as a spiritual landmark for modern Oman, projecting the values and aspirations of the Omani people. As an edifice, it maintains a perfect balance between aesthetics, culture and deeply rooted Islamic tradition. We continue to visit Old Muscat, surrounded by steep mountains and flanked by twin 16thcentury forts ‘Jalali’ & ‘Mirani’, also see the Al Alam Palace, His Majesty Sultan Qaboos’ residence. We will then proceed to Bait Al Zubair Museum. Bait Al Zubair is itself a part of Muscat heritage. Sheikh Al Zubair who served three former Sultans, founded the house in 1914 and his son Mohammad Al Zubair opened it as a museum in 1998. It’s carved doors opens up into a fortress style reception. The museum includes traditional Omani weaponry, jewellery, costumes, domestic utensils and recreated urban and rural environments. Then drive through the scenic beauty of the corniche, stop at Muttrah - the main port & commercial centre, and explore the colorful historic souk. This is a real souk with winding alleys and backstreets and stalls selling all manner of textiles, jewelry, traditional Omani perfumes (bukhoor - made of frankincense), souvenirs and antiques… After lunch we proceed to Nizwa. Dinner & overnight in Nizwa.

Day 3: NIZWA - WAHIBA

Stop At: Wahiba Sands, Wahiba Sands, Ash-Sharqiyah Governorate
After breakfast, we will visit small town of Nizwa. It is set in an important date palm oasis at the foot of the Hajar Mountains, Occupying a strategic crossroads on the caravan routes, it became the capital of Oman in the 6th century and is still the key town of the interior. Nizwa has a famous souk, which is especially busy on Friday morning, market day. Next to the souk the new Sultan Qaboos mosque. It was restored in the 1980s and is open to the public. The views from the top of the round tower, over the town and oasis, are stupendous. Then we will proceed to the historic town of Bahla, formerly encircled by a winding wall, which was originally built to guard the town. Bahla is also famous for its pottery and is now included in UNESCO’s list of world heritage sites. Highlight of the day is the visit of the possibly most impressing castle in the Sultanate of Oman, the castle of Jabreen. Visit Jabreen fort is included in the tour. You will also visit the Falaj, where you will see again another example of the historical irrigation system. Continue to the date palm groves of Al Hamra, which is also noted for its extraordinary ancient mud houses. After lunch we will continue our route to Wahiba. Upon arrival at the edge of the desert you will be shuttled in by 4WD to your desert resort. Dinner & Overnight at Wahiba.

Day 4: WAHIBA - SUR - MUSCAT

Stop At: Sur, Sur, Ash-Sharqiyah Governorate
After breakfast go dune bashing as our experienced drivers show their skill on the dune drive which is a thrilling experience by 4WD. Then we continue in our car / bus and before proceeding to Sur, we will visit Wadi Bani Khalid – a lush green valley surrounded by rugged mountains. We will enjoy an incredible view and a chance to capture the scenic beauty with your camera. Sur is a sea-faring town and a trading port bustling with activity throughout the year. Famed for the fascinating architecture of its old town and shipyards where traditional dhows have been built for centuries at the edge of the bay. Lunch will be served Enroute. We will then continue our route through the Omani mountains and wadis Further proceed to Muscat passing by Quriyat a small fishing village. Drop off in your hotel in Muscat. Dinner & Overnight in Muscat

Day 5: MUSCAT - DEPARTURE

Pass By: Muscat, Muscat, Muscat Governorate
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning free at leisure. Check-out from hotel before 12:00 (noon). 04hrs prior to schedule flight, transfer to Muscat Int’l Airport for a flight for onward or return destination.
