History And Culture:Hawker Centre Dinner & Traditional Tea Experience

We start our Singapore night tour in the Civic District where will we visit some of the historic colonial buildings and learn about the early pioneers who came to Singapore to make a living. We will then board a bumboat and take a 30-minute cruise down the river through to the present day. We visit Merlion Park and soak in the sunset view of Marina Bay whilst learning about the mega construction project behind it.

Our journey through time progresses by car to a residential district. We will discuss the political reform by The Founding Father of Singapore, Mr Lee Kuan Yew and discover how Singapore went from third-world to first-world in one generation. We will be accessing the roof of a Housing development Board (HDB) residential building from where we will get the most amazing birds-eye view of downtown Singapore.

The fourth stop of our night tour of Singapore is the famous Maxwell Hawker Centre in Chinatown where we will enjoy Singapore’s most iconic dish:Song Fa Bak Kut Teh-Spare Ribs Soup. Your guide will teach you Hawker Centre etiquette and point out all of the must-try foods in Singapore. We will make sure that you know how to eat like a local for the remainder of your time in Singapore.

After dinner, we retreat to a beautiful tea house for a traditional tea tasting experience. You will learn the art of the tea ceremony and try the Imperial tea that Queen Elizabeth II was served in the very same tea house. You’ll receive a small souvenir to take home to remember the experience.

Today you’ll jump into Hanoi’s sights and sounds on a tour that covers all the essentials. You’ll visit the Ho Chi Minh Complex, which includes the Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh’s former stilt-house residence, The Hoa Lo Prison, The One Pillar Pagoda and The Temple of Literature, which, dating back to 1070, is Vietnam’s oldest university.

After lunch, you will explore the enthralling Museum of Ethnology, which contains an extensive display of life-size structures dedicated to Vietnam’s 54 ethnic minorities. Next, enjoy an hour-long cyclo ride winding through the narrow, chaotic streets of the Old Quarter - a must for any visitor to Hanoi! Wake up early this morning to catch the sunrise over the bay with a Tai Chi lesson on the sundeck. Continue cruising and you can choose either kayak or traditional rowing boat to around discovering local life on the waters. Disembark at Tuan Chau International Passenger Port at around 11:00, where your guide and driver will wait for you and drive you to Hanoi airport for your onward flight (arrive at the airport at around 3:00 pm).

Upon arrival at Da Nang airport, your guide will pick you up and escort you to your hotel in Hoi An.The rest of the day is free at your leisure.

Day 12 Mekong Delta Discovery

In the early morning, you will head out of the bustling city to Mekong Delta Area. Cruising on the Mekong river for sightseeing: islands of Dragon, Unicorn, Turtle, Phoenix.

Land on Unicorn island, take a walk on the village road, visit an orchard of tropical fruits. Visit a bee-farm, enjoy honey-tea and visit a typical house in Mekong Delta. Visit coconut candy workshop, taste fresh candies. Enjoy tropical fruits at local farm, listen to Southern traditional music.

Next to land on Dragon island, transfer by cyclo or motorbike to local home. Have a homemade lunch and enjoy cooking time with some dishes such as “Banh Xeo” (Vietnamese crepe); Spring Rolls.... with the owners. After lunch, return to boat station. Transfer back to Saigon. Today is a chance to make a difference and see so much more. Your chance to really see what real life is like in a Cambodian Village. We will start our trip toward a local village by driving through local villages, passing rice plantations and herds of cows or buffalo. We are happy to stop along the way allowing you to capture some great photo opportunities.

Arriving at the Village, we meet our host family for the day and we embark on an Ox cart to visit the Khmer Village and enjoy the view of the rice field and lots of palm trees with great fresh air. This tour program provides them with a sustainable stream of income and creates opportunities for the entire village. Life in a Cambodian village revolves around the seasons. Rice planting makes way for harvest and then rice sorting and husking.
