Nestled right up against the Danube is Hungary's incredible Parliament building, known as one of the most beautiful in the world and is what usually dominates all pictures you see online of this beautiful city. You can book a tour to visit inside if you wish, however admiring the building close from the outside makes it still worth stopping by.

Shoes on the Danube Bank, if you walk across the Danube from the Hungarian Parliament towards the Chain Bridge you will find this memorial, which represents the many people killed along the banks of the Danube in 1944-1945.

Day 2: Budapest, Hungary

Day 3: Ljubljana, Slovenia

Stop At: Butcher's Bridge, Petkovskovo nabrezje, Ljubljana Slovenia
There are many bridges in Ljubljana, but each one tells it's own unique story. Lovers, friends and family can add a padlock personalised with their own message onto this bridge in particular.

Right up by the Ljubljanica is Preseren Square, the place where the city meets up and celebrate.

When you're looking up from the squares the castle can seem dauntingly high, you can make your way up on foot or there's also a tourist train and funicular railway. The main courtyard is free to enter.

Day 4: Ljubljana, Slovenia

When you take a trip to Ljubljana, you have to visit Lake Bled, with a small island in the middle. You can swim, hike or take a boat ride out to the island.

Day 5: Salzburg, Austria

Day 6: Salzburg, Austria

Day 7: Vienna, Austria
