      Welcome to Sri Lanka, a truly unique destination! Over the course of 8 days, youโ€™ll embark on an immersive journey with a local guide, exploring the countryโ€™s rich history, cultural landmarks, lush tea estates, and stunning waterfalls in the hill country. Along the way, youโ€™ll experience incredible wildlife, thrilling soft adventures, and discover remote golden sandy beaches. Upon your arrival at Colombo CMB Airport, your tour leader will greet you and take you to your hotel (we can also arrange pickup from any hotel in Colombo or Negombo). Your first stop will be the coastal town of Negombo, renowned for its beautiful golden beach, delicious cuisine, and lively atmosphere.


      On the first day, we have left the schedule open, allowing you to arrive in Sri Lanka at your convenience. If you land earlier in the day, we can organize a city tour of Negombo for you. In the evening, you can take a leisurely walk along the beach, enjoying the beautiful sunset and the serene atmosphere. You will spend the night at a beachfront hotel in Negombo.

      After savoring a delightful breakfast with a hot cup of Sri Lankan tea or coffee, youโ€™ll embark on a scenic journey through the breathtaking Sri Lankan countryside en route to Dambulla, the heart of the islandโ€™s cultural triangle.


      Day Plan

      On the way to Dambulla, youโ€™ll stop at the Millennium Elephant Foundation, where you can feed the elephants and even help bathe them in a nearby river.

      Once in Dambulla, youโ€™ll enjoy a cultural village tour, offering a unique glimpse into the local lifestyle and culture of Sri Lanka. This experience includes a Tuk Tuk ride, a catamaran boat trip across a lake, and a visit to a farmerโ€™s house, where youโ€™ll watch a traditional Sri Lankan curry cooking demonstration and taste authentic countryside dishes.


      In the evening, youโ€™ll visit the iconic Sigiriya Lion Rock Fortress (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), the perfect time to capture the stunning sunset views from the summit. Built by King Kasyapa (477โ€“495 AD), this rock-top palace is renowned for its impressive architecture and vibrant frescoes, and it is recognized as one of the worldโ€™s wonders for its advanced engineering.

      Youโ€™ll spend the night at a nature-friendly resort in Sigiriya or Dambulla.

      In the morning, youโ€™ll head to Kandy, the capital of the last Sinhalese kingdom. Nestled on a plateau surrounded by mountains, Kandy is renowned for its tea plantations and diverse rainforests. The city is also famous for its sacred Buddhist landmarks, including the Temple of the Tooth Relic.

      After breakfast, visit the Royal Cave Temple and the Golden Buddha Statue (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Dambulla boasts the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka, with a rock formation towering 160 meters above the plains. The site contains five cave temples with remarkable historical drawings.

      In the afternoon, explore the Temple of the Tooth Relic (another UNESCO World Heritage Site) and visit the Kandy Viewpoint for panoramic views of the city.

      In the evening, you will attend a cultural dance show, featuring performances inspired by Sri Lankan arts, traditional dance, and cultural heritage.

      Youโ€™ll spend the night at a modern mountain-view hotel in Kandy.

      After breakfast, youโ€™ll embark on a scenic journey through lush green tea plantations and picturesque waterfalls as you head toward Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lankaโ€™s renowned tea region. Known as "Little England," the city still retains many colonial-era buildings, such as the Queenโ€™s Cottage, Generalโ€™s House, Grand Hotel, Hill Club, and Town Post Office.

      In the morning, visit a museum to learn about Sri Lankaโ€™s world-famous gems and jewelry, discovering how they are crafted using traditional methods.

      Next, explore the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, one of the finest in Asia, attracting over 2 million visitors annually. The garden is famous for its orchid collection and houses more than 4,000 plant species, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants, and palm trees, spanning 147 acres.

      On your way to Nuwara Eliya, stop at a tea plantation amidst the cool misty hills. Youโ€™ll get a firsthand look at the time-honored process of producing Ceylon tea, finishing your visit with a perfectly brewed cup of tea.

      In the afternoon, enjoy a stroll through Nuwara Eliyaโ€™s city center, exploring the vibrant fruit and vegetable market.

      Youโ€™ll spend the night at a mountain-view hotel in Nuwara Eliya.

      In the morning, youโ€™ll embark on a breathtaking train journey from Nanu-Oya station to the village of Ella (train tickets are included and will be provided at the station). This route is considered one of the most scenic hill country train rides in the world.

      Upon arrival, explore Ella, a favorite among visitors for its beautiful, nature-rich surroundings. Key attractions include Ravana Waterfall and the iconic Nine Arch Bridge.

      Afterward, continue your adventure to Udawalawe National Park, the largest and most stunning national park in Sri Lanka. Experience an exciting 4x4 jeep safari, where you can spot monkeys swinging in the trees, crocodiles guarding the rivers, and wild elephants gathering by the water as the sun sets.

      Youโ€™ll spend the night in a safari lodge at Udawalawe.

      In the early morning, return to the stunning golden sandy beach and hop on a boat for an exciting sea ride to spot Blue Whales and Dolphins (a seasonal and optional activity).

      Afterward, head back to your hotel to relax either on the beach or by the pool.

      In the afternoon, explore Galle Fort, strolling through its streets while hearing the creaks of wooden saloon doors and witnessing the unique blend of European architecture with South Asian traditionsโ€”a cultural hotspot admired by visitors from all over the world.

      Later, visit a turtle hatchery center, where youโ€™ll see baby turtles taking their first swim and injured adult turtles being nursed back to health before being released into the ocean.

      After breakfast, youโ€™ll head to Colombo, Sri Lankaโ€™s vibrant capital city, rich with history dating back to the 5th century. Once a vital port in the East-West sea trade, Colombo has now transformed into a bustling modern metropolis, offering a unique blend of old and new. Its lively streets, diverse restaurants, and contemporary shopping malls attract both locals and tourists.


      Day Plan:

      Upon arriving in Colombo, youโ€™ll have the chance to visit the cityโ€™s main attractions and enjoy some last-minute shopping. You may also choose to dine at one of Colomboโ€™s famous, internationally recognized restaurants, ending your trip with an unforgettable meal.

      Afterward, youโ€™ll either be transferred to the airport for your return flight or dropped off at your hotel in Colombo or Negombo.
