      Upon commencing your 13-day budget Japan tour, you will rendezvous with your Adventure Leader in the foyer of the Tokyo hostel in the morning. After depositing your luggage, a briefing ensues where youโ€™ll peruse the itinerary and acquaint yourself with fellow travellers.


      Later, we embark on our inaugural destination โ€“ the Tsukiji Outer Market. During lunchtime, relish in the opportunity to savour delectable fresh sashimi! Next, we venture into the Asakusa District, where we shall explore the magnificent Sensล-Ji temple, Tokyoโ€™s oldest Buddhist temple.


      Following this, take in the breathtaking vistas from atop the Metropolitan Government Building, followed by optional activities. You may opt to indulge in one of Japanโ€™s national passions (baseball, at a local batting cage) or unwind with a libation โ€“ or immerse yourself with the locals at a nearby bathhouse.

  • Day 2 Sushi Making Class

      In the morning, partake in a memorable lesson on the Japanese art of sushi-making from a sushi chef, followed by a tasting of your creations.

      Later, explore Akihabara, Japanโ€™s โ€˜Electric Townโ€™ and nucleus of Anime. It also houses Japanโ€™s renowned J-pop group, AKB48. Discover venues devoted to manga and games, including the Tokyo Anime Center. Here, engage in an optional โ€˜Made in Tokyoโ€™ experience at one of Akihabaraโ€™s maid cafes. Spend the afternoon either exploring the city further independently or opt for a thrilling optional activity: Kartoon Karting!

      Commence your morning with an early excursion to the Tokyo Imperial Palace. While there, explore the Nijubashi Bridge and the Imperial Palaceโ€™s resplendent gardens.

      Upon conclusion, venture to the Sumo District. Embark on a journey with your Adventure Leader through stadiums, stables, and all things summer. At lunchtime, either wander solo or partake in an additional optional activity, mingling with ex-sumo wrestlers for a traditional sumo lunch of tonkatsu and chanko-nabe.

      Early afternoon, pay a visit to the Sumo Museum, a veritable trove replete with all things sumo wrestling. [Note: If the Museum is closed, we shall visit Edo Noren instead.]

      Optional Activity: Optional activity: Sumo experience with lunch. This is a rare opportunity where you can interact with ex-sumo wrestlers and enjoy Tonkatsu (Japanese Pork Cutlet) and Chanko-Nabe for lunch. This activity needs to be prebooked at least 8 weeks before the tour.

       Start the day with a local exploration of Kyoto by bike! Embark on a half-day cycling tour to traverse the city like a native. Begin with a visit to a local Zen temple, where a meditation session led by a Buddhist monk awaits, followed by a traditional tea ceremony.


      Afterwards, enjoy a brief lunch break before heading to witness Kyotoโ€™s emblematic sight โ€“ the Golden Pavilion at Kinkaku-Ji. Subsequently, explore the Imperial Palace grounds, capturing final memories of this remarkable city.
