      As you approach Bhutan, youโ€™ll be greeted by stunning views of the Himalayas. Upon arrival at the airport, a representative from Alpine Club of Himalaya will welcome you. After settling into your hotel, youโ€™ll begin your exploration of Paro.


      In Paro, youโ€™ll visit several notable sites, including the 15th-century Dungste Lhakang temple, where you can glimpse the Ugyen Perli Palace through its fence, the Rinpung Dzong, a fortress-monastery, the National Museum, and Kichu Lhakhang, Bhutanโ€™s oldest temple. Enjoy an overnight stay in Paro.

      Day 2: Hike To Taktsang Monastery

      After breakfast, embark on a scenic 4-5 hour hike to Taktsang (Tigerโ€™s Nest), Bhutanโ€™s most revered monastery perched on a steep cliff, offering stunning views of the Paro Valley. This sacred site is said to be where Guru Padmasambhava, who introduced Buddhism to Bhutan, meditated for three years, three months, three weeks, three days, and three hours in the 8th century. Enjoy lunch at a restaurant halfway up the mountain before descending back to the valley. Overnight stay in Paro.

      Day 3: Paro To Jele Dzong (Trek Begins): 10 Km, 4 โ€“ 5 Hours

      From Paro, weโ€™ll drive approximately an hour to Damchena and then trek up to Jele Dzong at 3,400 meters. The trail meanders through apple orchards and pine forests. Jele Dzong, constructed in the 15th century by Ngawang Choegyel, the great-grandfather of the Zhabdrung, is now mostly in ruins, but it houses a Lhakhang (Buddhist Temple) with a statue of Buddha Sakyamuni. On a clear day, youโ€™ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Paro Valley, Mount Jomolhari (7,314 meters), and the snow-capped Himalayan peaks. Overnight camping at 3,300 meters.

      We start the trek with a gradual ascent of 310 meters for about an hour and a half, followed by a descent of 50 meters through lush alpine forests and rhododendron groves. Along the way, you might encounter yak herders. Upon reaching the campsite in Jangchulakha at 3,600 meters, youโ€™ll be greeted by stunning views of snow-capped mountains.

      The trail starts with a short climb to 330 meters, following a ridge. Youโ€™ll camp near the Jimilangtsho lakes, renowned for their large trouts. Enjoy stunning views of Jichu Drake (6,989m), the peak revered as the protective deity of Paro. The trail then descends through fir forests towards Langrithang. Overnight camp at 3,500 meters.

      Todayโ€™s hike involves descending 800 meters through lush fir and rhododendron forests, following a stream until we reach the Tsaluna Monastery, a revered site linked to Guru Rinpoche from the 8th century. Continuing down the trail, weโ€™ll pass through the picturesque Tsaluna Village, known for its charming farms. After the hike, we will drive to Thimphu and visit notable landmarks including the Kingโ€™s Memorial Chorten and the impressive Tashichho Dzong. Overnight stay in Thimphu.

      After an early breakfast, we leave to Paro airport (approx. 1 hour). Druk Air generally departs early in the mornings to avoid adverse weather conditions.
