Itinerary

Day 1: Port Elizabeth to Addo

Stop At: Addo Elephant National Park, Addo Elephant National Park, Greater Addo, Eastern Cape
Upon arrival you pick up your rental car with detailed printed itinerary and information file you travel to the Addo National Park. Addo is home to one of the densest African Elephant populations on earth, roughly 550 of them. They once roamed the entire continent. By 1979 there were only 1.3 million African elephants left, and in 1989 they were added to the international list of the most endangered species, with only sixteen left in the Greater Addo area. Addo is proclaimed the 3rd largest national park in South Africa and apart from Elephants you can find Lion, Cape buffalo, Black Rhino, a variety of antelope species, as well as the unique flightless dung beetle. If you arrive early you can do some game viewing in the park. Conservation Fees excluded

Day 2: Addo to Jeffreys Bay

Stop At: Jeffreys Bay, Jeffreys Bay, Eastern Cape
In the morning you travel through the Addo National Park in search for Wildlife and continuing you travel to the coastal resort of Jeffreys Bay. The beaches are safe and the water is warm, so swimming and water sports are the main pastime. This stretch of the coast is also home to dolphins that grace the waves. There are also a variety of shells that visitors collect. You can see local shells displayed in the Shell Museum alongside shells from other countries.

Day 3: Jeffreys Bay to Plettenberg Bay

Stop At: Tsitsikamma National Park, Tsitsikamma National Park, Eastern Cape
You travel via a scenic route. On your way you can visit the Tsitsikamma National Park and take a hike to the hang bridge over the rumbling river. The park encompasses a marine reserve, deep gorges and local vegetation like the Big Tree which is a towering yellowwood in the forest. The Mouth Trail crosses a suspension bridge over Storms River. A town with miles of pristine beaches to choose from, itโ€™s no wonder that lazing on the beach is so popular with visitors, but, for those that manage to pry themselves away, there are charter boat cruises, hiking, canoeing and abseiling to choose from, to name but a few.

Day 4: Plettenberg Bay to Wilderness

Day 5: Wilderness to Oudtshoorn

From Wilderness you travel to George and via the Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn, which is in the Klein Karoo. The Klein Karoo is an oasis-like setting in a fertile valley cupped by the Swartberg and Outeniqua mountain ranges. Crops such as lucerne, tobacco, fruit, grapes and grains grow here in abundance.

Day 6: Oudtshoorn to Stellenbosch

Stop At: Stellenbosch, Stellenbosch, Western Cape
Today you drive via the scenic R 62 to Stellenbosch in the middle of the wine region. The second oldest town in South Africa has fondly been called โ€˜Eikestadโ€™ or city of oaks and its streets are lined with some of the most beautiful surviving examples of Cape Dutch, Georgian and Victorian architecture in the Cape. Dorp Street is a national monument and taking the time to walk around this cosy old part of Stellenbosch, with its secluded lanes, water furrows, cosmopolitan restaurants and coffee bistros, with superb views of mountain, vineyards and orchards, is an idyllic venture

Day 7: Stellenbosch to Cape Town

From Stellenbosch you travel to Cape Town. The city is known for its harbour, for its natural setting in the Cape Floristic Region, and for landmarks as Table Mountain and Cape Point. Upon arrival you can do a bit of exploring of the city.

Day 8: Cape Point

You leave early morning to explore the Cape Point and Cape of Good Hope. This area boasts global recognition for its rich, varied and unique fauna and flora. This is the only place on the planet where one finds such a mix of rich bio-diversity and incredible beauty. During your trip around the point you can visit Houtbay and the penguins in Simonstown. At Cape of Good Hope you visit the most south westerly point of South Africa.
